The tab cats are expensive, and the plastic holders are very expensive. PLUS I Ordered 2 plastic covers to hold the bleep in place on the cat collar. One of them had not been properly made. My husband had to split the plastic (which should be done at manufacture) in order to insert the bleep, and he split the wrong bit of plastic I know I could have returned it but needed it on our cat. Don’t think I would buy again.

I bought this product many times, both the new and the old version, the new version has a much wider range, the tag is a bit smaller and, in my opinion, more comfortable for the cat. sadly old and new version are not compatible so if you lose a tab you have to buy a whole new bundle.
It perform as promised on website and it is very useful for me, almost essential but, alas, it is built like a toy. The reason i had to buy it so many times (3 times so far) is that it is very easy to break just by using it and, as I said, I lost a tag and the replacement are not available anymore so I had to buy a new bundle.
Customer service is very cold and impersonal and almost always suggest to buy more devices at full price, said price was high but acceptable before brexit, but now, with shipping, taxes, and exchange rates it became quite overkill for what it is.

I used the TabCat to track down my wayward cat yesterday evening and it did find him where I wouldn't have looked. My only criticism is that I still need to be quite near for the detector to work which meant I had to be moving in the correct direction blindly, and the silicon tab cover makes the tab more bulky than I would have liked.

Did receive my package after over a month, the product has a very short range, as far as i can tell, after 20 mt the remote already doesn't detect the sensor

The new version really improved a lot. I can’t live without Tabcat. I have got 5 cats. Two out of five wear it, because they are the most adventurous. I can track them at any moment. It gives me a such sense of security. I give Tabcat a 10!

Nice holders for the 'old' version of the TabCat device on the cat's collar.
Disappointed that the 'old' version is no longer available and if the cat's device is lost the whole 'system' will have to be replaced at high cost.

I had a gorgeous black cat with beautiful yellow eyes, his name was Aji. He loved to go around the suburb with his tabcat. Every single night when I was coming back from work I used to drive around till I found him. When the light turned yellow I knew he was close and then when it turned green and his collar started to vibrate I just stop the car and opened the door. From wherever he was, he used to jump and run to the car, get in and come back home with me every single night. He knew that before coming back home I always picked him up. Till one night I couldn’t find him and I received the sad call that a lady ran over him. She gave me the street and the tabcat brought me to him for the last time. I buried him together with it as it was a little part of him and of many memories together. Now I think why I never made a video of me picking him up I believe it would have gone viral.

I always know where my cats are and this gives me great peace of mind. I've been using Tabcat since 2018, and I've just purchased the new, improved version. It's very easy to use, reasonably reliable (it's not magic), and inexpensive to run.

My two outdoor Burmese cats are both small, and the tag fits them perfectly in size and weight. They constantly get in trouble by climbing trees and visiting people's houses, and if it wasn't for Tabcat I'd be worried and upset almost on a daily basis (especially in the summer). Also, no app collecting data and no subscription.

A great product...but don't expect miracles!

Excellent customer service that replaced my broken tabs which are essential to find my naughty deaf rescue cat from Greece that likes to venture far and wide. With out my Tabcat I would never find Lufi. He still can’t work out how we find him as he can’t hear the beeping 😁

Probably one of the best purchases I've ever made! I decided to buy tabcat (v1) after a night where I sat up anxiously waiting for one of my cats to come home. It was not normal for him to have not appeared at tea time. It turned out he'd been stuck in a shed or garage. I'd thought previously about getting trackers for my cats but couldn't decide, should I get radio frequency type or GPS?...I'd ended up not bothering mostly because of cost. But during that night where he went missing I did some research and decided just to go for tabcat. The money was so worth it! Mostly I don't need to use it because my cats will come back but it's great for peace of mind - to check up on where they are, or to help call them in...my cats both respond to the beep on the tracker! But there has been the odd occasion where I have been so grateful to have it.

Recently same cat got injured somehow...he hadn't come in so we used the tracker. We found him hiding, injured and scared under a hedge and I got him straight to emergency vets. I hate to think what would have happened had we not been able to find him!

You do need to be within a certain range of the tracker for it to work, so I have had a few walks around the block. It also does work through walls within a shorter distance...I've caught both my cats in our neighbours house!

So I am super happy with my tabcat and even bought one for my parents' cat.

A GPS tracker would have different advantages but also has other limitations. Tabcat wouldn't help us if one of our cats jumped in a car or van that drove off somewhere else, but ours have their collars with ID and they're microchipped so I feel happy with that. They tend to stick reasonably close and like the same areas so Tabcat suits us really well. I can only assume that the new version is an improvement on the first but I'd have no hesitation in buying the first again for someone else if I saw it available. I highly recommend! I do think I prefer the look of v1 to the new one and I like the round flatter shape.

As for the company themselves, they seem very attentive to their customers...I've emailed questions a couple of times and had prompt, helpful replies. I didn't wait long to get my tracker either, it arrived pretty quickly after I'd ordered...I think I was surprised how it arrived so quickly actually 😂.

I have a black rescue cat called Ninja. She was found at ten weeks old, in the back of a helicopter hangar at an Army barracks. I took her home and we are now a close knit pair that was seven years ago. I am a veteran, she is my therapy cat. We live in the hills of Kalamunda Western Australia and all the properties are bush blocks of a acre. Ninja considers everywhere her backyard. She is free to roam, all the neighbours know her and the bush is full of kookaburras, kangaroos, and quendas (bandicoots) none of which are a danger to her. She will occasionally get swooped by a wattle bird but she's safe. She comes home every night at dusk and stays in until the morning. I have two trackers on her, one is long distance monitor which gives me a ball park direction arrow 24/7 and a % of distance, and the Tabcat that zeros into her from about 100m when I go looking for her which works brilliantly. When she doesn't come home at night, I can go out and find her with a torch in the bush. When the Tabcat is zeroing in on her she knows I'm looking for her as the beeps go off on her collar and she comes running to me. About three months ago Ninja didn't come home one night and I went looking for her with the Tabcat. I found her two properties away caught by her collar in a small hole in a wire fence. She would have been trapped overnight if it wasn't for the Tabcat zeroing in on her. I freed her and took her home. Tabcat pays for itself everytime I have to go and find her. I used the original Tabcat for two years after seeing it used by the "Willow the Van Cat" and have now bought the V2 which is much better in range, battery-life, and fits better on her collar. I highly recommended it as much better than any other system I've seen. *****

Three years ago I adopted a blind kitten. Shortly after I moved into a house with a large walled garden which I thought would be an ideal place for the kitten to safely enjoy the outdoors (supervised, of course).

The first thing I did once the move was complete was fit the kitten's collar with a Tabcat. The next day I let him outside to explore. In the time it took me to refill my coffee cup, he vanished!

A-ha, I thought, the Tabcat! And it unerringly led me to one corner of the garden, but no kitten. I looked everywhere, under plants, even inside the trash can but though the Tabcat unit was beeping like crazy, the blind kitten was nowhere to be found. UNTIL I LOOKED UP.

The kitten had managed to hop into a planter, climb a branch to the top of a shed, get from the shed roof to the top of the wall and from there climb a gigantic magnolia tree. He was easily 25 feet in the air and, of course, had no idea how to get down.

Well, we retrieved him - collar still beeping. And now when I let him out I keep eyes on him every second.

And I named him Houdini.

My cat is black and she hides in shoe racks and dark places. I have spent hours looking for her and not found her as she shuts her eyes and does not make a sound. She is an indoor Persian and I don’t like to go out until I know where she is. I have locked her on the balcony of our villa in Crete before by accident, in 40 degrees heat so it is important to know where she is. I have been late on so many occasions because I can’t find her. The tabcat has changed all that and I really could not be without it now. She also comes when I activate it as she knows she will get a treat and a cuddle.

We have five cats and have been using Tabcat for about 15 years plus and have been able to track our cats in the locale of their home. We live in a property with a couple of acres of grounds with some of it woodland and need to keep an eye on where they roam especially as they are all brought in and kept in overnight. They provide real peace of mind when our cats are away from the house. We also have no phone signal where we live meaning we cannot use GPS trackers (which incidentally are large and not so comfortable for the cats to wear) so the tabcat trackers have been invaluable. I was delighted when you went back to the smaller design of tracker which fits well on the collar. My latest purchase of a pack of two spare trackers is simply insurance in case of misadventure so that we are never without an immediate replacement. Thank you Tabcat.

I lost my previous cat in a road traffic accident between the first two covid lockdowns in 2020. I was devastated and I acquired a new kitten to help me get over the loss and have something to care about whilst the world battled covid and further lockdowns. My new black cat is beautiful all black cat but I was very worried about letting him out in his own, so for the first year and half he had the run of our garden but in a harness and a dogs training line. He didn’t mind but I felt guilty not giving him his freedom to roam and discover new things. I found Tabcat and it has given me the confidence to let him out in his own knowing that if he doesn’t come back when he is called I can use Tabcat to find him. It has worked so well, that now he knows that if I activate Tabcat tracker he comes home at the beeps. It also means that if he should get lost, have an accident or get struck I will find him. Thank you for helping my cat to have the freedom he deserves.

As a long time customer I've always been happy with the loc8tor and then Tab cat puss tracker.
I had a problem with one of the tags in the latest version, but on returning it, received a new tag which functions perfectly.
Now our feline family has expanded, I purchased the "black Friday" special, at a great price, and look forward to many more years of "safe & found" cats.
