I am writing this review regarding the dental insurance provided through NCD in partnership with MetLife.
To be fair, I want to acknowledge that NCD did assist us in resolving delays with predeterminations. Our first predetermination took nearly four months after submission by the doctor, but with NCD’s help, it was eventually processed. After that, additional predeterminations were handled more efficiently, usually within about two weeks. For that support, we are grateful.
However, the fundamental purpose of insurance is to provide protection and financial support when a patient genuinely needs medical or dental treatment. In our experience, this is where the insurance has completely failed.
More than 90% of the treatment plan submitted by our doctor was denied. This is not a minor issue—it defeats the entire reason for having insurance.
I have personally had medical and dental insurance for over 30 years, and I have never encountered anything like this. With every other insurance provider I have used in the past, necessary treatments were reviewed fairly and typically approved when justified by a licensed professional. This experience is completely different.
I am writing this review on behalf of a family member whose condition has now become extremely serious. She is only 26 years old, yet her dental health has deteriorated to a critical level. She has not only lost significant tooth structure, but the overall structure of her mouth has also been affected as a result. This situation is both physically and emotionally distressing.
If necessary, I am prepared to provide documentation and images to demonstrate the severity of the condition and the legitimacy of the treatment plan.
I am sharing this experience to warn other potential customers: if you are considering purchasing dental insurance through NCD and MetLife, please proceed with caution. I strongly encourage you to carefully review customer feedback for Metlife on Trustpilot Platforms, where 88% others report experiences similar to ours.
Insurance should provide peace of mind in times of need. Unfortunately, that has not been our experience.

Natalie was absolutely the best!! Super friendly, very informative and a pleasure to talk to. If i needed to hire somebody like her. I’d hire her and if I could give her more than five stars, I’d give her 10 stars.

I needed to get my member number and I spoke with Audrey C. She was so patient and understanding. She took the time to renew my information and now I will be getting my card in mail in a matter of days. Thank you, Audrey for giving me that information so that I can start my dental work.
