Absolute joke of an organisation. Supposed to be helping keep the price cap in place and making it fair for everyone - which they are not. Making the UK look like mugs.

I wish i could put 0 stars, OFGEM are nothing but scum bags who only care about lining their own pockets off of the suffering of working people who can barely afford the EXTORTIONATE energy prices. DON'T PAY ON OCTOBER 1ST,

At a time when energy companies are announcing record breaking profits, forcing these increases on the public is outrageous. You’re pushing millions of us into fuel poverty. This is unacceptable and unethical.

I demand a reversal of the price hike back to April 2021 level.

I wanted to lower their rate but it is already in red so I don't know what else to say. This is supposedly an organisation to keep the big companies and profiteering at bay but it does nothing. There is no reason why the electric and gas prices should go up apart from the free market rule of supply and demand. That doesn't mean that their costs have increased just that there is shortage in supply and they get richer and richer. And they were rich before!!!! It is outrageous because this is going to be reflected on everything, not just our heating bills. It is going to be our food, clothes, our whole livelihoods.

It needs to reach 1 million people and then from 1st October the strike starts.

Ofgem fails the consumer with the hike of the price cap. As energy and fuel companies post record profits the cost of increased fuel prices is passed is passed on to the consumer. Ofgem fails to protect the consumer in favour of energy companies. Profits before people is NOT the way forward. It was always my understanding that Ofgem was there to regulate in favour of the consumer. Clearly not.

Ofgem is useless. Re-Nationalise the energy industry. The latest price-cap is outrageous

Need to stand up to these sly scheming governments, they are feeding the media lies just saying what you want to hear...ofgem supposed to be on the people's side, but they don't give a crap!! Just heard on Jeremy Kyle talk show that the governor or whatever he is on the Isle of manvis freezing the cap on on energy bills this winter as with France...why isn't the rest of UK following suite???; because we have a corrupted government who are thinking of themselves who are millions of n the bank and not living in the real world....i am barely surviving before all this began now I don't know what to do...I am sitting on the park bench writing and asked a local Caffe if I could fill my flask with hot water to last the day.
as I can't afford to put kettle and lighting on at home I won't go on an about circumstances but this is real world, there are people who are a in a much serious position than others .. something has to be done we can't go on living like this especially with this government.they are throwing scraps at us but not enough to cover then what?? Something has to be done can't keep going on like this..this winter there will be a lot more higher deaths, pensioners worried about heating, and kids who already in poverty wondering where the next meal is coming from while the parents go without meal's this has to stop...and Ofgem just lies about the price cap....I have nothing else to say

I would give zero stars if I could. Ofgem’s pockets must be lined with gold courtesy of the energy companies. How can countries like France apply sensible price caps but we can’t? It is obscene how these companies are making these vast profits but what is worse is how Ofgem is not holding them to account. I hope that everyone working for Ofgem and the energy companies realises that they will have blood on their hands, that they will be held personally accountable for the nightmare that is coming. Hang your heads in shame.

Do the right thing, killing your own isn't.

How can Ofgem get away with changing the so called price cap from twice a year to four times a year without any consultation. This is suppose to be a government body, the same people who let anyone with £1.25p and a 3 amp fuse become an energy supplier and now we all in the UK have to pay the price.

They are an absolutely useless, toothless Government Quango who are in the thrawl of the power suppliers, exampled by the change to 3 monthly price cap reviews (Dropping the consumer into another price hike in the middle of winter) to protect the energy companies and ensure their shareholders have a healthy dividend.
They also clearly think it is fair that a 23% environmental charge is imposed on Electricity while only 2% is payable on more polluting Gas.

YOU work for US....... therefore you are required to answer your customers.

The fact that you have failed to reply (except for an an acknowledgment email on 12th July) shows that you cannot answer these questions.

The standing charge is NOT legally required and is at the energy companies discretion.

I spoke to my energy company about this and was told that the standing charge covers maintenance to meters (the actual meters are cheap, between £15 and £50 appx), reading of the meters and engineer callouts...... smart meters may be a bit more.

I have been at my house for 37 yrs and NEVER have I had a replacement meter, a meter read or any maintenance done on either my gas or electric pre-payment meters. The same goes for most of the people around me.

I am a very low user of gas, and a debt has been built up over the last few years BECAUSE I AM PAYING MORE FOR THE STANDING CHARGE THAN I DO FOR THE GAS! If you take 37 years at £10 month, that comes to £4,440----even if you halve that, it is still £2,220. That is for ONE of the meters---add the other and you double the amount.

The days of meter reading etc are redundant and the other excuses said by my energy company no longer exist. It is a STEALTH TAX and discriminates against low users.

I can think of no one else who charges a standing charge--except for water, and they make a small annual charge. As the standing charge is NOT a legal requirement, this should be looked into by you, Ofgem ( it won't be) and the Ombudsman---AND IT SHOULD BE SCRAPPED!

I would much rather pay a higher unit charge than a standing charge---then I could pay for WHAT I USE..
You will no doubt send me a jargon filled "explanation" and side with the energy companies etc----but THE STANDING CHARGE IS NOT A LEGAL REQUIREMENT, IS REDUNDANT, AND CERTAINLY SHOULD NOT BE GOING UP AS IT IS NOT ANYTHUNG TO DO WITH THE ACTUAL ENERGY PEOPLE USE!

The site is too automated whether phone or web-site. Getting to talk to human is impossibe. The line is alway receiving "an unusually higher number of calls" and cuts you off after 20 minuets.

The company do not respond to written correspondence, and although I have now found an e-mail address, I suspect it will fall in to the junk mail and not be answered.

Very unprofessional company and should be forced from trading by OFGEM the controlling body, who incdentally always have a call queue.

Energy companies are making 100 percent profits and this globalist organisation is almost doubling price cap every three months. How are they regulating anything? They only exist to line their pockets through absolute corruption.

Ofgem Helping companies like Octopus energy make more money when they say all their electricity is 100% renewable and sourced from the uk so why the massive price increase
