It would appear Ofgem are not fit for purpose with bills ever skyrocketing and the profits that are embarrassingly upbeat for the Utilities... *o* help us when the Ice Age dawns.

Ofgem, are in the hands of the companies they are supposed to be policing , it should be disbanded, it is not fit for purpose.
All utilities should be returned back to the government totally corrupt organisation, not transparent at all.

Often clearly have no intention of protecting consumers but are intent in protecting the suppliers profits.

This organization is not fit for purpose.

Do wonder if supplies pay them to protect their profits

Not fit for purpose - eon ripping off an elderly customer who was in hospital fighting for his life . Eon admitted fault lay with them promised 4 remedies fulfilled non ofgem accepted this closed the case .. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING

Corrupt and in the pockets of British Gas and other power companies.

Why they told me to double my payments when i proved by usage was lower than estimated, they ignored that and still said i had to double my payments. Ofgem knew that British gas at the time of the case OWED ME £1200, but they ignored that fact. It went up to £1425 and still Ofgem said i had to pay double for electricity. Not once did of Ofgem challenged British Gas and not once did the ask them why they owed me £1200?

Need to lower there standing charges on electricity and gas for providers ... ripping off us public needs to stop long over due as you have made your billions . I don't use a cooker or fridge mainly eat sandwages and protein bars due to everything expensive to run .

Very poor customer service

They have completely failed to answer my question, as to why payments I have made, do not appear on the bill.
The appeal system is a shambles. Surely a second person should look at the complaint with a fresh mind.
I get the distinct impression that they cannot be bothered to do a fairly lengthy mathematical calculation, and are taking the easy way out.

Ofgem should be the next institution to be exposed for there lies and failings along with the government who have allowed them to provide massive profits for the energy companies and bonuses for ofgem this is a cover up like the post office scandal standing charges should be halved as all the company’s use the same pipeline for gas and cables for electricity so which of them is maintaining the infrastructure

People ask ' What is the point of Ofgem?' Well, they certainly don't protect the public from being ripped off with massive bills, especially the standing charges on electricity! What they actually are for is to give more of the governments 'mates' well paid jobs! Ofgem is just another establishment to fleece the public. Why are we even paying to cover their mismanagement of letting opportunistic, ineffective companies start up energy companies just to collapse and leave the public footing the bill! Why don't the British take a tip from the French and sort this - we did it before with the Poll Tax. Being British is such a let down and disappointment now a days.

It’s quite funny when you get nowhere with your energy supplier and you think “I’ll go to Energy Regulator as they’ll help me”.
Firstly they won’t. They just point you towards Citizens Advice.
Secondly, and the reviews on here prove it, what do they do? They don’t help consumers so I’m guessing they’re just another Government department (quango) that is a lap dog to the very companies they’re supposed to be regulating.
Only in the UK could you end up with a free market for energy that fails at every level and the Government regulator is just part of the same failing process that we all pay through the nose for.

Thus is what ofgem allows trying to get a refund from ovo was told no you must have 4 months of direct debits mine are 225.00 pounds a month that us 900 pounds then want kept in the account disgusting and disrespectful calling customers luars etc why don't ofgem sort it out

Disgusting people who run this allowing energy company's to yet again put up there standing charge and also people are going to have yo pay more to cover the alleged losses made by these so called energy companies to pay for people that don't pay what a joke sorry Mr regulator it dose not work like that plenty of hard working people in this country who should not have to pay for ofgems huge mistakes ofcom dose not allow vm and sky to charge there customers for people who don't pay they persue them for monies owed you are a absolute joke ofgem and you should be ashamed of yourselfs but obviously not

The energy ombudsman needs to be merged with Ofgem and ofgem should deal directly with customer complaints.

It is ludicrous that we have to wait 8 weeks to escalate a complaint to the ombudsman especially on matters of faulty meters, misinformation from energy suppliers and incorrect billing.

Please sign the government petition via the Parliament platform to force Ofgem to change its mode of operation.

Absolutely NOT fit for purpose, so many struggling people getting extortionate fuel bills and this body was initiated to protect us from this type of theft, scam!!
Shameful company and makes me want to leave my once great country, My fuel bills could fund a brand new sports car!!! I'm so disappointed and will probably never have my faith restored in Ofgem or the current UK Gov.

When will Ofgem do what they are supposed to do? They are supposed to regulate the energy prices but every time we see them allow suppliers to slightly drop the unit price but increase the standing day rate. When are Ofgem going to stand up and do what they are paid to do by us the consumer through the suppliers costs that we pay!
Should be disbanded and the costs the consumers pay put back into lowering our payments to the suppliers!

Ofgem... Hang your heads in shame.
Complete lack of ability to do their job.
Energy companies are making eye watering profits. People are struggling to pay bills... And it's the poor people who are already struggling who then have to pay off the debt of others. All £3 billion of it.
