Fast and easy very good service

Lucy in the South Shields office was really excellent at keeping me updated, helping me find a property in the short timeframe I had. Thank you!

I haven’t experienced better customer service from any other company than I have with the Pattinson team in South Shields. Lucy and Lauren and the rest of the team were incredibly supportive throughout and really went above and beyond to help. Would highly recommend to anyone.

​I wouldn’t recommend this auction house to my worst enemy.

​After months of failing to sell my property, I did the sensible thing and gave my 28 days' notice to withdraw. Not once during that notice period—nor in the "multiple calls" they claim to have made—did anyone mention a £1,200 penalty. It wasn't until my contract had already ended on August 26th that they suddenly "remembered" I owed them money.

​The sheer audacity of their business model is impressive:

​The "Hostage" Tactic: They flat-out refused to de-list my property from portals, effectively blocking me from moving to a local estate agent until I paid their unsubstantiated invoice.

​The Inconsistency: First, they told me the fee was for "failing to provide a legal pack." Then, the invoice magically changed to a "withdrawal fee."

​The "Small Print" Trap: They hide a massive £1,000 + VAT penalty inside a convoluted sentence in Clause 4. Most people assume a withdrawal fee applies when you pull out of a sale; here, they use it as a weapon if you don’t jump through their administrative hoops—hoops they never bothered to mention while I was actually giving notice.

​I have paid this £1,200 under protest just to get my property back from them, but I am currently seeking legal advice and escalating this to the Property Ombudsman.

​Prospective sellers: BEWARE. They are more interested in collecting "withdrawal fees" than actually selling houses. If you value your money and your sanity, take your business to a professional firm that actually communicates like they’re in the 21st century.

​I expect a full refund of this unjustified charge. See you at the Ombudsman.

I was appointed executor to my brother will and acting on behalf of his beneficiary (son) who wished to sell his father's home.
We contacted Dean Florence at Pattinson Jarrow office
Who gave us a valuation and suggested we put the house to auction (they also offer the whole package of solicitors etc) which we decided to take his advice.
We were referred to Caitlin Pattinson who went out of her way to make this whole process stress free, she was in regular contact keeping us updated on Viewings etc
And the day of the auction went without a hitch we felt that the service offered is second to none and would highly recommend this company if you are thinking of buying / selling a property.
We found them very helpful, polite, approachable, honest what else can we say

Recommended by Lovelle estate agents. Very pushy when asked about the fees and still wouldnt state exactly what fees there are to pay as a seller. Phone calls were vague and would try and move to different tact as distraction. When asked to put it in writing there was just a random screenshot of prices. Where these had come from I have no idea as there was no reference. The email language used was very passive aggressive and not customer focused. Stating that we did not have to sell with them. Email ignored and 3 days later they rang pushing to sell the property. A company I would stay clear from

Pattinsons Yorkshire strung me along for a year asking when I was going to put my house up, then, when I was ready, I got in touch with them and they said they no longer dealt with houses like mine. Wasted time, passively aggressive attitude. Would not recommend.

Sold a property through auction dealing with the great team at Norton Branch. Tony, Julie and the team were very professional and gave honest advice and guidance. They kept us updated with viewings and feedback. Sold in the first round of auctions and happy with the price achieved.

Dan took 360 video images and photos and all were uploaded next day to RightMove online
A For Sale board was placed outside the front of our property in view of the main road
We had a 2 viewings booked next day, and the first viewing placed an offer which was accepted
It’s safe to say we received outstanding service from Dan and the ladies in the Houghton office who arranged the bookings

Agree with the user, it looks like a scam. They keep constantly pressuring me and changing auction end dates. Don't give them your hard earned monies. It may well be a Scam!

If I could this review a zero stars, i would.

Shocking and Misleading Service. I was repeatedly pressured by a representative called Carly to place a bid on a property, receiving around 18 calls insisting that the seller would accept almost any offer. I placed two reasonable bids within my budget, but was continually told that the seller was expecting more and that if I did not bid again the property would be removed from auction indefinitely.

The auction was originally due to end at 12:00, but it was extended by three hours specifically so I could place another bid. During this time I was repeatedly told that this would be the final opportunity and that the seller was waiting for my offer. Based on these assurances I placed another bid and ended up winning the auction, although I felt heavily pressured and misled throughout the process.

Before making any payment I made it clear that obtaining the remaining funds within such a short timeframe would be difficult. I was reassured that there would be flexibility and time to complete the payment. However, after they took £5,000 from me, the property was placed back into auction just two days later without proper explanation.

At no point before paying was I told that this would happen or given any realistic opportunity to resolve the situation. They are now refusing to refund the money.

I believe I was misled and pressured into bidding under false information, and I am now seeking legal advice and preparing to take legal action against Pattinsons. I would strongly advise others to be extremely cautious when dealing with this company.

Very efficient process. Everything made simple to understand by a highly knowledgeable and professional group of people. The energy, communication and compassion of the staff left us full of confidence in the that we were in good hands.

Recently sold and bought another property through the Houghton branch.

I was previously on with another estate agent but not having very much luck with them. Dan came out promptly to and took fantastic photos of the property and a 360. The team had our property sold in 2 weeks!

As for buying another house, Sue and the team done a fantastic job of helping arrange viewings and putting forward my offer for the house I’m buying.

I’d 100% recommend the branch
