The rental staff at PGM have been superb with us and we have been renting through them for over 15 years. The current team led by Crystal are extremely professional, trustworthy and kind. I have become very fond of them over the years and often talk to them as friends as well as a business. They are also very genuine and because of this you know where you stand at all times. Over the past six months we have experienced friendly, attentive service from the staff at Perkins George Mawer & Co. We would like to thank Elton for the way you handled our machinery sale, your team worked together brilliantly from the initial planning, to the sale day and it's successful completion. Thanks also for the continued support in ongoing projects.

We rented Poplar Farm, Tealby Road via Perkins George Mawer. There were a number of problems with the property, and our most significant issue was the appalling behaviour of the landlord (John Caswell) – this included issuing us with a no fault eviction notice after 9 months of us spending a considerable amount on the property undertaking repairs, improving decoration/condition of the property and paying for several things that were the landlords responsibility. However, Perkins George Mawer contributed to the problems by:
1) Issuing an inaccurate inventory on the day we moved in (the property was very dirty, in a poor decorative order and state of disrepair).
2) Issuing an F rating EPC certificate on moving into and out of the property – it is illegal to rent a property with an F rating.
3) Not informing us of nor holding the landlord to account for the disrepair of the property, excessive costs associated with living in it and complications of shared services with neighbour, including:
o business (not residential) rates for water
o water metre shared with neighbours (we were not told it was shared and paid for both properties initially)
o inefficient boiler with oil leak resulting in over £400 pm costs
o cesspit blockage resulting in £155 every 2 months
o open electric wiring and electric sockets not working
4) Not holding the landlord to account when he refused to take action on things that were his responsibility and that we paid for (smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, ivy blocked gutters, blocked cesspit and unsafe open fires).
