My cat slipped his collar after a couple of days of using it, and for whatever reason we were unable to locate the collar via radio signal or GPS shortly after he came back home that day. We connected the receiver to a personal hotspot and went searching around the last known location and still nothing. The app is great when it works however.

I contacted customer service and within a couple of days they've already confirmed they're sending out a replacement. Obviously they didn't have to do this so I'm very appreciative of the assistance. Thank you, James!

Having lost four cats over the decades, with the remains of only one found, I decided to get tracking collars for my two kittens. After extensive research, I chose Pet Tracer. Firstly because it uses GPS and radio, so effective outdoors and if in buildings. Secondly, because of the lightweight compact design. Having benefitted from them for months now, it was an excellent choice. I always know where my boys are. I know where to find them if they are out after curfew. I found them both stuck on an outbuilding roof (3 times!). I retrieved Scampi when he had crossed the lane into a field. I am a member of local Facebook groups, and frequently see photos posted for missing cats. When I looked at the cost, I thought 'Would I wish I have paid if one of my kittens was missing?' My answer was 'Yes, double.' I thoroughly recommend these collars for your pet's safety and your peace of mind.

I was very happy using PetTracer for my two cats as it gave me peace of mind knowing where they were when they were out and about. Unfortunately due to allergies I had to rehome them and Anna Miller at customer services was fantastic. I returned the collars and I immediately had my subscription cancelled and a refund of payments made while my kit was in transit.
Can’t fault PetTracer and I’d definitely recommend.

The collar is lightweight, isn't bulky and my cat has no issues wearing it. The app is easy to use and I can see where her territory is very clearly. Support has always been helpful if there are any issues or when ordering new items. I'd definitely recommend the collar

Ich hatte letzte Woche einen Ausfall meines PetTracer Halsband gemeldet. Innert zwei Tage hatte ich ein neues Halsband mit allem was dazugehört bekommen und konnte das defekte mit einem frankierten, adressierten Antwort Kuvert zurücksenden. So freundlich und so unbürokratisch. Schnell wurde ich schon lange nicht mehr bedient. Herzlichen Dank .Diese Fünf Sterne habt ihr redlich verdient!

I would like to report a really good success story with the collar…

Thomas – our 15 year old Bengal - usually goes out each evening just before bed time for a quick patrol and returns in about 15 minutes. But one recent evening he hadn’t come back after an hour, and we were worried. So we turned on live tracking and found his location – about 150 metres away in a wooded area. We went to the area and struggled through trees and brambles in the dark and the rain looking for him and calling him. The tracker said he was very very close, but we just couldn’t find him. So I activated the collar light and straight away I saw it flashing just 5 metres in front of me about 1.5 metres up a tree. Thomas was just sitting there, not moving, and seemed quite unsettled. We think he may been chased up the tree by some other night time prowler. I was able to take hold of him, lift him down and carry him home. He was unsettled the rest of the night and quite apprehensive – very unusual for him. But he’s all settled now. Without the PetTracer we wouldn’t have known where to look for him, and without the flashing collar we just wouldn’t have seen him.

I’ve been using PetTracer to keep track of my very inquisitive cat, and I couldn’t be happier with the accuracy of the tracking. The collar is lightweight and comfortable — even my notoriously fussy Siamese is perfectly happy to wear it, which says a lot!
It’s genuinely amazing to see exactly where she goes and likes to hang out. The technology works brilliantly, giving me real peace of mind.
I’ve also received exceptionally caring and professional help from everyone I’ve dealt with at the company. A special mention goes to Anna Miller, who is an absolute star and represents the company’s professionalism perfectly. Her support has been outstanding.
If you have a cat who loves to wander, don’t hesitate to give PetTracer a try. It’s been a game-changer for us.

Started off really good but started lagging a couple of months in. The collar is on my car and he’s outside but it’s saying it’s still charging and not connecting to anything. Happened a couple of times, the app is a bit clunky and glitchy to set up too. When it works it’s fine though.

Recently my cat came home minus his collar. I asked for help and was guided all the way through with making the home station mobile and starting a search. Anna Miller was excellent at talking me through what the app was saying and how it worked, how to search effectively and her communication was timely and detailed. This is the first time my cat has lost his collar in over a year and prior to this I have always been able to find him in the locations when I’ve searched for him.
I would thoroughly recommend pet Tracer to anyone wanting to keep their much loved cats safe. A brilliant product with amazing customer service!

Petracer Review and suggestions :
We have several months of usage with the Petracer collar for our cat. The combination of GPS and RF technologies certainly seem to definitely cover the range of search situations. From our experience, the GPS function is VERY GOOD. The view that show hot spots are exceptionally useful. We could see that he was sticking within the boundaries of our yard. Last Friday he wondered outside his normal range and last track at 10 AM at noon. We were concerned and found the last tracked spot and switched to RF search assuming that the tree cover was blocking GPS signal. We struggled getting the RF track mode in two ways. The first way is getting the base unit associated with our cell phone. It took a frustrating 30 minutes of restarting both. Eventually, success! For about 20 minutes then lost connection and had to struggle again to reconnect. The other area of continual struggle was getting the search mode out of Slow ( battery reserving) to Live. This sounds easy but there is a 15 delay. So between trying to carry the base unit while plugged into a battery while trying to assure that the phone is still talking to the base unit while bushwhacking through brambles while looking for your cat, it was incredibly frustrating. Continued on for a couple of hours. No luck. Saturday, no fresh GPS. Tracked the RF signal to the neighbor’s barn which was full of old cars, two ridiculously large goats and old cars and the rest. Very kind neighbors helped search but nothing. Still struggling with the Baseunit comms and the RF refresh rate got to 92% signal but couldn’t find him due to the density of stuff. Day three same story of several hours searching - nothing. Battery is just about out so, I think we are done. This is a first world problem but honestly, after having the cat 6 years we are pretty distraught. Perhaps he’ll return of his own accord.

Positives of Petracer: truly exceptional customer service. They answered several emails over the weekend with only an hour or two delay. They had suggestion on how to minimize our issues. GPS tracking and associated Map application- exceptional.

Negatives of PetTracer: Baseunit association to cell. Frustrating. RF refresh rate. Needs to have realtime response option with no delay. Also, I’d love for them to build the base station with a rechargeable battery and a wired connection to your phone.

As a user, invest the time to play hide and seek in the RF mode.

Would I recommend Petracer? Yes

The pettracer is accurate and fully functional. You get what you expected. The technical support always provide a fast help if needed. Absolutely " must have" if you want to contribute to your cat's safe outdoor adventures.

Ilana and Anna in the Customer Service team were so helpful - communication with them was a dream! Would highly recommend this company.

Customer support are always friendly, knowledgeable and quick to respond to emails. With my recent query - James was able to hep me sort out the issue very fast & we're not even in the same country! I was able to locate my cat quickly.

I’ve had petTracer for a few years and would highly recommend it. I brought it after losing my Maine Coon kitten for a number of hours and haven’t looked back since. I always know where about she is in the garden. The times that I have had to contact pettracr for help, they have always come back in a very timely manner and have resolved my queries.

This product is great, very accurate and not too bulky for my cat to wear.

The customer service is also excellent, they are very quick to respond and always very helpful.

Got a refund as collar did not work

I bought a Pet Tracer collar in the Black Friday sales for use in the New Year, when I planned to train my indoor cat to go out. However, she escaped and although she does return there is no way she would allow me to put a Tracer collar on her and then remove it to re-charge it. Customer Services were very helpful, they gave me extra time to return it in case she accepted the collar and when I did return it within that time they agreed to refund me. I must add that I had never taken the collar out of the box, it was exactly as I had received it. 10/10 to Customer Services, especially Sophie and Anne Miller.

I rehomed my cat from a friend and re-registered my details and sat back feeling content that if he went missing , he could be rehomed by a simple scan - until he actually went missing- 1st i couldnt sign in, then i was informed that my cat hasnt been re registered to my address, this is after being told that he was. Now everytime i try to do anything on their web site it either crashes, gives me a message about work being carried out on their site , all the while im being sent to the same 2 pages over and over again. This is just what i need while im feeling emotionally drained after losing my beautiful companion. If i could give 0 stars i would.

The PetTracer collar is a smart, slim device but it fails in one key area, it cant reliably locate your cat in real time.

I think the website is a bit misleading, it says “GPS + Radio, finds cats anywhere”. The system has two parts, the collar and a HomeStation.

To see your cat’s location, the collar must be within range of the HomeStation, which for me was about 50 metres.

Outside of this range, the collar only passively records GPS locations and uploads them once it reconnects to the HomeStation.

If your cat is lost or roaming further away, you wont be able to click “find my cat” and see their live location.

On a plus, the initial set up was simple and customer service was great.

Refunded as I need live mode which this does not offer.
