First the good. The staff have all been very friendly and understanding. They've got back to me quickly and have answered any questions I've had promptly.
Unfortunately, this hasn't been a great experience for me. Firstly, the person who attended on the design visit told me the hot water tank could be installed in one location, but when the installers arrived they said it was impossible. This wasn't an issue for me in the end, but is something that probably needs to be noted by PHS.
Everything was going smoothly on my install until the end of the day. The electricians who were meant to finish the install said they didn't have the materials required and would have to come back the following Monday - my install was on a Friday. However, about an hour after everyone left site, one of the soldered joints on a pipe failed and began leaking radiator fluid everywhere, and completely saturated the carpet. I had to try and get this to stop while on the phone to PHS. The installer called me a few minutes later and I managed to stop the leak by releasing pressure from the heat pump outside. While it wasn't freezing cold, this meant we didn't have any heating over the weekend which wasn't ideal.
After the installation was fixed and commissioned on the Monday, I was given the booklets for the various components and told to download the app for the thermostat, which is fine as it is relatively self explanatory. But I had no walkthrough of the heat pump controller or what I did or didn't need to be aware of. As an engineer myself, I like this sort of detail, so while I appreciate it may not be required for every customer, I would have appreciated some form of handover. Unfortunately, and because I put the effort in to learn about the settings in the controller for myself, I found it had not been set up properly. Martin from their installations team was very helpful in identifying what settings needed to be changed, but this should not have been the case, and its concerning that this had to be resolved between Martin and I after the installation.
Some of the guidance I've also had around how to operate the system, specifically the domestic hot water has been confusing. PHS have advised that this should be on all the time, the same as the radiators. But this is not what the general consensus appears to be, and I've had the chance to speak to another installer who explained why this isn't a good idea. I now have to make the choice whether to trust PHS, or the general consensus of the industry, e.g. Heat Geeks.
I understand that sometimes things go wrong, but I would be lying if I said i wasn't disappointed by this experience and had a local installer carried out the installation, they would have been able to come out and fix the poor workmanship on the same day instead of 3 days later. With this in mind as well as the trouble I've had with the commissioning in general, I would be reluctant to use PHS again and am unlikely to use them for any servicing.

1) Pushed heat pump installation before end of March; 2) sold us "in-house" workmen and then contractors pitched up - drilled holes in walls, did poor job fixing walls and left a mess; also only had one new controller even though it was discussed that there are two zones - this was never fixed; 3) messed up the financial application - delaying solar installation for a week - so running heatpump which is 3x more costly than gas - so we had to switch off the heating to the house to avoid electricity expense - the house has been freezing cold for two weeks now; 4) solar installed - they did not have "all the parts" conveniently, so could not connect it to the house - said they would come back next week (after Easter) - another week delayed - a week of generating solar that can not be used for the house, but gladly exporting to the grid, for free..... - another week of using 3x more electricity to run the "efficient and cheaper" heatpump - We have not received any calls to see how the installation has gone or if everything is OK - ZERO after sale service or honestly, just lack of customer care!! - If I had known this was going to be the journey I would NEVER have agreed! ....still sitting without solar connected to house......

I had my AHP serviced this week by Project Heating Solutions. Most of the staff there are helpful, but the service engineer was Joe Gundry. He is excellent. Not just servicing the filters, etc, but cleaning everything, to ensure that my air pump stays in tip-top condition.

Salesman Richard Pinker, assured me that the heat loss report I needed to have before an air source heat pump could be installed was mine and independent. According to him, as I was expected to pay £195 for this report it was mine and I could even use it with another company should I choose to do so.
When I tried to get a copy it proved incredibly difficult. I was sent a blank copy of a report they compile, then a copy of the APEX report I had paid for less all the data needed for an assessment of my ashp needs. I complained and was sent the same report with data missing. After yet another complaint I was sent another copy again with data missing but an EPC taken from the internet attached. Eventually after I gave an ultimatum I received a copy of the two missing pages. Shabby sales technique design to hook the customer. After all who wants to lay out another £195. For a report already paid for.
Lesson learnt was pay the surveying company directly. You become the customer and the report is sent to you.
I STAND BY ALL I’VE SAID. I DID NOT ASK FOR A COPY OF THEIR REPORT I WANTED A COPY OF THE REPORT FROM APEX WHICH I HAD PAID FOR NOT AN INCOMPLETE COPY WHICH IS WHAT WAS SENT TO ME ON FOUR OCCASIONS. IT TOOK MORE THAN TWO WEEKS BEFORE I WAS SENT THE TWO MISSING DATA PAGES, NOT EVEN A COMPLETE COPY JUST THE TWO MISSING PAGES. I DID EMAIL THE COMANY DIRECTOR, ROBERT STEELYARD WITH A COMPLAINT BUT RECEIVED NO RESPONSE.

We have just had our first heat pump and G3 hot water cylinder service with Joe Gundry from Project Heating Solutions. We were fortunate enough to have him for the install last year, so he knows our system inside out. He attended to the service in a professional, meticulous manner and documented everything as he went along. He is prepared to go the extra mile and even found time to order some parts for us that had, unfortunately, been damaged during the original install with a view to coming back to fit them in the new year. He is a real credit to the company and we hope to have him back next year for our annual service and inspection.

DO NOT let this company have anything to do with a re roof. DO NOT TRUST THEM. Directors do not take ownership of the work and do not reply to emails or return phone calls. Sub standard work by contractors.
Work completed end of July took till November to get Building Regulations Completion Certificate which we found out only covers the thermal element of the roof.
End of November and the roof has started leaking so having to get a qualified roofer in to sort the problem. Offer from PHS ltd for their roofer to come and sort flashing around chimney but does not accept the other issues. Will not provide a guarantee which is standard for a new roof of at least 10years.. Threatened by Jamie Boggis (Director) to remove this post before they will come back. If they can not offer guarantee then what is the point?
Paid our invoice for the roof and solar system to PHS Ltd yet they are denying any responsibility for the roof.
Reporting to Trading Standards.
Thanks for the reply although full of lies. How dare you say we hadn't the funds?!!!! If the roofer said he couldn't guarantee the flashing wasn't done then we would certainly have had it done.!!
Trust is lost in this company...
Solar panels and battery system have yet to perform as good as the original proposal.??

You say you have been in constant contact for over a week. That is true. Prior to this for over 3months no returning of phone calls or emails while trying to get a building regulations certificate sorted. Didn't even get a Director to sign their name to it.
As for the flashing which you say was recommended which we assumed was included in the quote. The roofer actually said 'If it's not broken don't fix it's and assured us it would be ok. We have now had this replaced at a cost of £365. During this work the roofer identified other issues with the roof such as the ridge tiles not secured. We will be following this up with Trading Standards along with the other issues previously identified.
Which additional service did you offer which you say we accepted or acknowledged any support??
The signed and in our error of judgement payed for contract you mentioned just says 're-roof work ' We should have gotten the details of what this included.
Also Jamie, I do not accepts threats from what is supposed to be a reputable company to remove this post!!
