Wrong item sent

I order a white 3ds xl and they sent me a red one. If the color I ordered wasn't available, they should have told me that and given me the opportunity to either choose another color or cancel the order. Instead, they just took my money and sent me whatever they wanted. I tried contacting them to see how they would resolve the issue, but have heard nothing back. I don't recommend ordering from this company.

Update: They got back to me today via email, attempting to defend their practice of not notifying customers when the item ordered is unavailable and just sending whatever color they happen to have in stock. Unacceptable. They should notify customers of the situation and offer an opportunity to cancel the order. They did not address my question of whether they offered free returns (since they sent me an item I didn't order.) They mentioned nothing about their return policy, so I'm guessing they don't accept returns even when it's clearly their own fault. Shame on them. It's a shady business, people. Stay away.

Missing game - No resolution via Support

They sent the two ordered video game consoles but did not send the ordered game. They included cheap non original chargers and one was cut in half.
I’ve reached out numerous times to have them send me the game I paid for and at this point they have stopped answering me.
Stay away!

Scummy practices

Awful shipping times (could be from the holidays), terrible communication, and didn't give me what I ordered exactly. I ordered a new Nintendo 3DS XL and I received a new Nintendo 3DS LL which is a Japan region locked version of the XL but it was jailbroken so it could be played in the US. A terribly scummy practice but I was jailbreaking it anyway. 3DS was in good condition

Price gouging AFTER order

Stay away

Awful store, scammy practices, abysmal customer service. Very unethical business that canceled my order and jacked the price up when I bought the game fair and square. Stay away. This isn’t the first time I got burned by them! They held onto an item and never updated my order when I purchased a new 3ds xl, instead of receiving a NEW 3ds xl I got an old 3ds xl instead. So I returned it and they kept ahold of my money.

Do not honour prices

Had a game listed at 30, then because of stupid social media popularity didn't honour someone's order and jacked the price up to over 200 and now listing this game is on offer down from 300 😂 You can't make this up, avoid these scammers at all costs.

SCAMMING OVERPRICED DROPSHIPPERS

SCAM. This shady, overpriced, dropshipping store purchased a GameCube game from me on eBay and sent it to a completely different address many states away from their physical store location. This is because they did not have the game in stock in their store and someone purchased it on their website, where they have it listed for $30.97. They bought the same game from me for $12.37 shipped, and had me ship it directly to their buyer, meaning they profited $18.60 off a game they did not have in stock but told the buyer that it was in stock anyways. Mind you, the pricecharting (aka average ebay sold value) for this game is $10, so these clowns are charging 3 times market value on their website, so I assume the prices in their physical store are just as horribly overpriced. Do not support this store/company in any way, they are clearly just into retro games to rip people off and make money and are not actually enthusiasts of the hobby in any way. Any game store that cares about their reputation and positively contributing to retro gaming would not scam like this with 3x pricing over market value and drop shipping.

If you did your complete research and actually visited our website to understand how we do our business, you would have understood our business model.

As you advertised your business in the review by claiming that that you sell games at a much lower cost than us on eBay, you will be aware that eBay only offers a 30-day return. Retro vGames offers a 121-day return warranty along with a 1-year add-on warranty.

You used the word 'Scam' multiple times, please understand the meaning of a scam company first.

* When our customers reach out to us, we always help them
* The prices on our website are the prices we charge. We do not have any hidden charges
* We mention the condition of the items on the listing. According to you we drop ship, how do we predict the condition?
* We offer a 121-day return warranty and a 1-year add-no warranty. We replace the items even if our customer reports an issue on the 121st day of the warranty.
* We clearly list everything that comes in an order.
* We not only sell on our website but on many other reputable platforms including eBay.
* We provide the tracking information as soon as we ship it.
* We provide assistance before order, during order, when the order is in transit, after the order is delivered, and if the our esteemed customers face any issue during the 121-day warranty period, we provide complete support.

Please practice common business ethics and do not try to defame our business.

Terrible shipping and customer service

I bought a Psvita from this website and when I finally got it my screen just broke and went dim and started glitching while I was using it. Not only that but the packaging was terrible it came wrapped in a bag as if it shouldn't be treated as a fragile product
EDIT: I also discovered that the screen has lots of blackspots and I now have to angle my screen to be able to barely see anything. The company is telling me there is a slim chance of a product being broken yet there are multiple reviews which say they send broken and faulty products they wasted my time and they are STILL sending me offers to buy vita games from them to play on the faulty product they sent me, it's as if they're rubbing it in my face

Store credit gone via glitch

I had a store credit from a previously returned game. When I went to place a new order the website glitched out and would not accept the order. My guess is that the credit was more than the order total and the system did not now know how to handle a zero dollar order. I came back a few weeks later and threw another game into the cart so I would not get a zero dollar order figuring this would solve any issues. I then dropped in my code for my credit and it had $0.58 left. I reached out to customer support to get this rectified. They said they could not track where the credit was used but that it was used. We went over my orders together and despite the fact that the math added up and I should have this credit left open they just stood by the "it was used" position. And, to boot, with almost every interaction they implied it was my fault. Don't order for this company! There are plenty of vendors selling these items.

As a follow up to my previous review…

As a follow up to my previous review here I am updating all of you. After asking for a refund and starting the process they insisted for 3 emails over 2 days that they will replace the item. After clearly stating I will not accept a replacement I will only accept a refund after returning the item they requested I pay for the return because it's a "refubished" item. Keep in mind it was dirty, grimy, and missing parts that would make it a completed unit. This is clearly not refurbished and I am not returning it to them on my own dollar.

They have gotten a final follow up email from me requesting a return label. They have not replied to my previous email for almost 48 hours now. If they do not reply with one they will be getting blocked by my bank and getting a charge back to get my money back.

Do not buy from them, it is a hassle and you aren't garenteed anything you buy.

I purchased a Nintendo 64 console and 4 controllers and one game. Console was dirty and didn’t work. I requested to return the console and once it was delivered Retro vGames customer service abruptly stopped responding to any emails and now they have the console and one controller and my money. I would never recommend this site to anyone and I’m exploring legal options to recover my money

Scammed here as well. Ordered a refurbished gamecube and two games. The gamecube was disgusting, damaged, not refurbished and two of the controller ports didn't work. Never received either game. No response when I tried to return the console or cancel the games which were never shipped. I am currently disputing the transaction with my bank.

Ordered a Gameboy Advanced SP online

Ordered a Gameboy Advanced SP online, a week later they refunded my order with no communication as to why. No email telling me it was refunded. I only figured it out because I looked at my account to see what step my order was at. When I called in, they couldn't give me an answer as to why my order was refunded, and could only confirm that my order had in fact been cancelled. Not impressed with the unprofessionalism and lack of communication

Holly fk were do I start first I get a message that I had ordered something that I didn’t for almost 300$ Contacted them and said it was a bug so I let it slide so delivery came around And turns out they send my package through FedEx. FedEx later couldn’t deliver my package because they don’t deliver to PO boxes so I had to drive an hour away to get my package just to turn out that the driver wasn’t there so I had to drive back the next day causing me to spend 40$ in gas This seller should advise they don’t ship to PO Boxes but the console it self was in grate Condition but horrible shipping experience never buying from here again ✌️✌️

Terrible Experience!

I bought an item from this company. Immediately they start spamming my inbox with offers. Two days later i get a credit from my bank, no cancellation email. I reach out to support, and they give me stock out excuses. I call them out that their system still shows 10 in stock and then they say its a system issue, "but i should be able to reorder again". So basically stock out excuse was a straight up lie. Someone messed up pricing and they wouldnt honour an order that they accepted. I think other reviews reinforce their service quality. Horrible!

The experience you had was caused by the fact that we do not deal with new items and mostly deal with used items. The issue with dealing with used items is that sometimes when the demand for a particular item is high, despite trying very hard to keep up with the demand and procuring items to replenish the stock, it can take time. We also cannot guarantee the prices to remain constant as they depend on the market and at what price our team is able to procure the items again. Despite this, we try our best to offer each of the items in our inventory at the best possible price while maintaining the quality with a 121-day warranty.

What a HORRIBLE company

Terrible at first, Updated with good communications

UPDATE - I was refunded for the PS3 and the communication with the company improved. Seems they are making reasonable efforts to improve their business which I applaud them for. Cheers and well played
INITIAL EXPERIENCE - Terrible, do not buy from these scam artists. Refurbished PS3 doesn't work. They do not answer e-mails in a timely fashion and support is basically non-existent.
Updating - The PS3 doesn't work and was poorly packaged, which might be why it doesn't work. They have reached out to provide support and I am working to resolve the issue. If they resolve it appropriately I will update further and increase their rating again.
