Had a little bit of a unique situation with the height of the lift on my truck. After I placed my order, I emailed customer service to make sure the shocks I ordered were 100% correct. I had read some conflicting information. Shock Surplus contacted Fox to double check that my order was correct. Very responsive and great to deal with! Shocks arrived quickly. I recently ordered some KYB shocks/struts for my 2005 Honda Odyssey van. Immediately after placing my order, I realized I had accidentally duplicated it. Now I was going to be charged for the item I wanted twice. At the time my order was placed, ShockSurplus was closed, so I emailed my dilemma to the their support team. In the back of my mind, I was thinking my stupid mistake would end taking forever to get resolved. To my surprise, there was a response to my email from an extremely helpful employee named Cheri, the first thing the following morning. She assured me that she would follow up on this matter and get it resolved as soon as possible. By mid afternoon, I received a follow up message that my charge card would be credited within 1 to 3 business days and that my order had been shipped. This is a business that understands the importance of good customer service! Not only will I purchase product from ShockSurplus in the future, I will be sure to recommend them to all of my friends. A special shout out to Cheri, she is a gem! I would be very proud to have her as an employee.

I was told part number AK7110SB06 was in stock and approved for exchange. A representative walked me through the process and I was charged a $20 reshipment fee to complete the exchange.
I then waited five days for a return label and had to call myself before it was finally sent. I returned the original shock expecting the agreed-upon exchange.
Instead of notifying me that the replacement shock was discontinued or unavailable, the company refunded the order back to my original payment method without consulting me first.
The refund was sent to a Buy Now Pay Later service, which resulted in additional fees. I lost my original down payment, paid return shipping, paid the reshipment fee, and was left without the shock I needed for an event I had already invested significant money into.
At no point was I given the option to choose an alternative product before the refund was processed.
This experience cost me time, money (over $7k prepping for race this Friday), and the ability to attend a scheduled event. I cannot recommend ordering discontinued or limited-availability items from this company without verifying physical inventory first.
Very displeased with lack of communication and being led to believe I was getting the other shock exchanged.
Horrible customer service, paid extra to get my shocks early said they would be here in less than a week got here after like a month finally get them and one is damaged tried reaching out to them several times for over a month. I emailed them every two days and they said if I send a lot of emails it would take longer! They made me send the order number, parts number and pictures of the damaged shock three times and still no answer, then I finally get a text saying they were sending it, and I can keep the old one now I get the new one today and it is damaged also so now I’ll probably be waiting another month for another shock before I can even get them on, will never be ordering from them again.
