In some cases, the manufacturer requires the full shock to be returned so they can properly replace or inspect the unit, which is why we had to process it that way.
In many situations, small hardware like nuts and washers can also be sourced locally, and we’re happy to reimburse the cost if that’s the quickest solution to get you back on the road.

I had an awesome experience working with the Shock Surplus team, and I really have to give a huge shoutout to Cheri Cortez.
One of my 2024 GMC Sierra's shocks failed after 1.5 years. Instead of making me jump through a bunch of administrative hoops, the SS team stepped right in and actually helped me claim the warranty.
They were incredibly efficient—verifying the issue and shipping out the replacement hardware right away, without the usual headache of making me mail the blown shock back first. I just wrapped up installing the new one, and the truck's suspension damping and overall ride quality are completely dialed back in. It’s so refreshing to deal with a team that actually advocates for you during a warranty claim.
I highly recommend them to anyone looking for solid off-road hardware backed by top-tier support!

Very happy with the service. Order 5100 Bilstein front and Rear with assembled OME 884 shocks assembled. Everything showed up in good condition and to spec. Would use them again because they were price well and had great customer service.

Bilstein 5100s are GREAT !!!
I have had Bilstein 5100s on my 06 Ram 3500 for a few years now and they are still running great so I finally decided to pull the trigger and get some for my 87 chevy K10 1/2 ton 4x4 that has 250000 miles. Needless to say they made quite a difference. Way smoother all around and they look great. I can totally recommend Bilstein 5100s as a great mid priced shock that is worth it. Shock Surplus is a great place to buy them and they ship fast. Got the rears in a couple of days and the fronts had to ship from the east coast to northern Nevada and they still got here in about a week. Thanks Shock Surplus. I love riding on my BILSTEINS !!!

Reluctantly decided to upgrade the shocks on my 2025 F250 Super Duty. After much research, decided on the Fox 2.5's. Ordered, received in just a few days, a breeze to install, and the difference in ride quality is phenomenal. Two of the shocks they sent were the wrong ones. Contacted customer service, they had the correct ones shipped out the same day and I received two days later. No qualms at all, easy to return the incorrect ones, no issues. A great company to do business with in my opinion.

Great product, Horrible customer service.
great product, easy to order, shocks were missing 1 rubber stopper and 1washer. Never was. able to speak to a live person, sent emails and 3 days later got an Email back only to have to send more emails back and fourth. 3 weeks later I found some at a local part store so I could drive my car again. Never got a replacement part. or spoke to anyone here even. though I asked and sent my phone number to better explain what was. the issue. Never again buying from them. In the end, a few weeks later they sent me the parts I was missing. Wish they were able to speak to me or had a better way of communicating. They made it right but now I will have to tare it all apart to replace what I was able to make do.

Convenient one stop shop
I decided to go with this website because it was the most convenient to build my package and include all the parts that I needed for a full suspension swap on my 3rd Gen Tacoma. In the end they saved me a lot of hassle to figure out all the parts I'd need, they assembled the front coils/shocks, and everything was shipped and received in a timely manner with no problems.
And here's some minor feedback for areas of website enhancement, and a few wishes:
It was hard to see what the individual costs were for each parts of the package before the final purchase, if I wanted to price compare. I wish I could have removed U-bolts, since I had what I needed for that. Also, I wish I could have swapped out the Bilstein 6112 coils for higher weight 700lb coils for less money or no extra cost (and I didn't realize they'd also send the original 600lb coils too, that I have no use for). The rear Bilstein 5125 shock bushings were a little too wide for the stock installation (a known issue) and I needed to to cut them down (I wish they offered a precut shorter option). Shipping seemed expensive for the leaf springs, but I don't know what industry standard is.
Overall good experience and I'll probably shop with them again.

We also really appreciate the specific website feedback. Being able to see individual component pricing inside a bundle is something we continue working to improve so customers can price compare more easily. The note about optional items like U-bolts is helpful as well. With package builds, certain hardware is included by default to ensure compatibility and completeness, but we understand that experienced installers may not need every item.
Regarding the 6112 coil options, Bilstein ships the standard 600 lb coils with the kit, which is why those were included. Swapping to 700 lb coils is considered a custom change, but your feedback about clearer visibility on that option and cost difference is valuable. We also appreciate the input on the 5125 bushings. Fitment nuances like that are useful to know, and offering alternative bushing options is something we can evaluate.
Leaf springs are unfortunately expensive to ship due to size and weight, but we understand that freight costs can feel high.
Overall, we’re glad the experience was positive and that you’d shop with us again. Thanks again for taking the time to share both the praise and the constructive feedback. That’s how we keep improving.
