I gave 1 star because Trust Pilot doesn't allow negative stars!

Some 5 years ago now I was involved in a car accident. Thanks to dashcam liability was resolved in my favour very quickly. My first medical appointment was via video link and despite me being a bald, and very obvious man, the diagnosis constantly referred to me as 'Ms' and if being misgendered wasn't bad enough the diagnosis was wrong. Some weeks later I was seen in person and thankfully my manly status was confirmed and my diagnosis was correct.

Fast forward a year and they wanted to get my car examined, which I did and it was a write off. This was in January 2023. In July 2023 I chased because I had still not heard anything and chased by October 2023 I still had not received payment for the total loss but was told several times my case was a priority.

I'd love to tell you that while they were deal with the total loss they were also dealing with my injuries but alas they were not. My injuries were still not being dealt with and despite cooperating swiftly on every occasion they were painfully slow.

Fast forward to January 2025 when I was told the TP were disputing causation and my case was being taken to court and given a court date in June. The TP provided a list of questions for the expert to reply to. You have thought that now half way into the 4th year of my case S&G would be keen to chase this and get it resolved. Sadly not and the expert was not chased and didnt respond in time for the court case so my court case was delayed. We had put forward an offer for settlement which was rejected because...... the expert had not responded.

A few weeks after the initial date the expert responded and supported my case. The TP put forward a low ball offer and instead of negotiating on my behalf S&G recommended I accepted the low ball offer. Thankfully I ignored them and told them to put forward the original. This led to a debate and the case handler telling me this was against their advice. Again thankfully I ignored them and the TP accepted an increased offer.

Youd think this is where my story ends, but no. My case was sent to the recovery department who contacted me and told me the TP had 21 days from settlement to pay. You would indeed be right if you guessed that by day 22 I had heard NOTHING! I chased again and was ignored for a day while I assume S&G chased my payment. I was told a BACS payment would be made and ve paid in 3 to 5 working days.

Were on Day 6 now and you guessed right. Ive still not received the money.

Ive been misgendered, misdiagnosed, ignored, passed from one case handler to another and a fairly simple RTA has taken 5 years to resolve.

Avoid at all costs.

Company did well despite total intransigence from the other side . A little more updating could have helped though I appreciate there was often nothing to say over the last 9 tears. Most importantly on their advise I held out which was well worth it.

Excellent thought out whole process

Absolute Waste of time lI would never recomend Slater & Gordon it just felt like they where all Still on Lock Down and had not gone back to work yet.
i spent at least 3 -4 hours giving them a detailed itinerary of the treatment by a surgeon and also the Optician's neglect of urgency What was most likely only a torn retina easily fixed because of not been treated for 5 weeks waiting list instead of recognising i needed immediate treatment due to thier neglect it became a detached retina and after the horrendous treatment by a surgeon in St Paul's has now left me practically blind in my Right Eye with irreparable damage the surgeon in question was arguing about my prescription after 15 mins of me saying i had. 20/20 vision he said he was looking at someone else's details on his computer and struggled to speak fluent English he botched up the operation and failed to give me any anti-Biotic eye drops needed after such an operation to prevent infection it caused me a massive infection this to me was a decoy because of the botch up operation then causing my macular and retina to detach.
Gordon and Slater after being evasive and it just felt like i was given the Run around and it felt like they where working from home as i just could not get hold of a solicitor dealing with my case they did not consult me it would take up to 3 weeks to get hold of anyone of the so called solicitors. even the call operator felt embarrassed after an hour on the phone he could not get hold of a solicitor then after 4 months of this horrendous none service they sent me a letter to say they did not think had any case for them to take on.
any one with half a brain can see from just the basic amount of detail i've given the hospital and the Opticians are culpable of medical negligence but these Cowards decided no case to fight lI would never recomend Slater & Gordon it just felt like they where all Still on Lock Down and had not gone back to work yet an absolute Let Down by Slater & Gorden and the so called Opticians My sight is crucial for my line of work, i've been totally let down by these people and the Opticians in the first instance then followed on by the Incompetence & Neglect of the surgeon at the hospital.

Nearly 2 years to sort a claim out absolute joke. Had that many diffrent people handling the case I lost track. Would not recommend avoid use someone else!
