Helpful friendly people
Everything is completed and I am very happy. I was nervous starting the process but everyone was so helpful and friendly, always someone to talk to. Luke Ayers was my case handler and he was always available to talk to, and a great help. My advisor was Lesley Frame and she explained everything in great detail which made everything clear. My experience with Key and Standard Life was very positive

Awful experience
Awful experience! We applied for a 'Standard Life Home Finance' branded later life mortgage from more2life which was approved in February 2022. Promised Completion in a maximum of 84 days, we vacated our home in April, expecting to move into our new build house within a few days. Big mistake! we were fobbed off, misinformed, misled and lied to by more2life, came within a whisker of losing our house and eventually moved in July. Not because of more2life - but in spite of them, and by directly contacting their CEO and his deputy. More2life's solicitors were Enact, another shambles. After raising a formal complaint with a manager, we were offered a derisory £500 compensation for our distress and inconvenience. The delay cost us over £2000. In a twist of irony, the mortgage came with a £1000 arrangement fee!
Initial response to Trustpilot' review actually got a response, but the promised 'Senior Manager Review' never happened. Judging by the plethora of 1-star ratings, things at more2life are still shambolic.
Avoid if you can!
An interesting prompt response from more2life, particularly in view of Standard Life's comment,
"Standard Life Home Finance is not provided by Standard Life, but is operated by More2Life"
What's known as passing the buck - or taking something similar.
We've now passed the complaint to the ombudsman.
