Great Service and Support at Step Legal.
Liz and the entire team at Step Legal were very efficient, knowledgeable and friendly, keeping us fully informed throughout the entire purchasing process.This purchase was for a new property and Step Legal was very thorough in reviewing the many building clauses, picking up those that were incomplete and quickly resolving any contractual/legal issues with the builders solicitors.
We were so pleased with how Step Legal handled our house purchase that we went on to use them for our new Wills and Powers Of Attorney. The whole process was painless and very professionally handled by Shabana.
Pricing for all services was also very competitive.
Highly recommended.

I would recommend Step Legal Solicitors if you are looking to make a will. Shabana the wills expert was very helpful with the drafting of the wills for myself and my partner, and the price we were quoted was the price we paid when our wills were completed. My honest take...
We used Step Legal for the sale of our property and the purchase of our new-build home. Ultimately, they completed the necessary legal work and enabled the transaction to go through, but I have to be honest that throughout much of the process, I felt as though our circumstances and level of importance were secondary.
The process began in March, with our developers originally indicating an anticipated completion date in May. At no point were we advised by the solicitors that this timescale was unrealistic or unachievable. By April, we had already begun living out of boxes in preparation for the move.
The expected completion date was then repeatedly moved—from May to early June, then the end of June, the beginning of July and finally the end of July. Throughout this period, we were given very little clarity about whether any of these dates were genuinely achievable.
What was particularly frustrating was hearing information from other people within the chain that had never been communicated to us officially. On several occasions, others appeared to have been told that certain proposed completion dates were not going to happen, while we remained unaware and continued planning around them.
Selling and buying a house is stressful enough, but the lack of clear, direct and decisive communication made the experience considerably more difficult. At times, it became overwhelming for both me and my partner, particularly as we had packed up our home and were repeatedly trying to rearrange our lives around changing dates.
Step Legal did ultimately complete the necessary work to allow us to move into our new home, and I appreciate that delays within a property chain are not always within one solicitor’s control. However, I would have greatly appreciated a more direct line of communication, clearer expectations and honest updates about exactly what was happening throughout the process.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this solicitor based on my experience\.
Communication throughout the process was extremely poor\. I was rarely kept informed of what was happening with my case, and whenever I called for an update, I was made to feel as though I was being a nuisance rather than a client simply asking for information\.
The only thing that seemed to be communicated clearly was when payment was required\.
Our house sale was agreed in March, but completion did not take place until the end of July\. The explanation given was that there was a long chain, yet the buyers were first\-time buyers, so this never seemed to fully explain the delays\. During such a stressful time, I expected far more proactive communication and guidance\.
Buying and selling a home is one of the biggest financial decisions people make, and clients deserve to feel supported and informed throughout the process\. Sadly, that was not my experience\.
