We had a viewing with Kelly McDermott today to see a property, Kelly was absolutely fantastic from beginning to end. Kelly was very friendly and welcoming and was happy to answer any questions we had. I would highly recommend Thorney Groves Estate Agents!

Katie was great at liaising with my tenant following a site visit to ensure we could get a great outcome for all. Good 2-way communication which is vital for a managing estate agent.

We have been with Thornley Groves for over 15 years or so, there has been ups and downs I was thinking of leaving, but after Maisie became our Property Manager things changed. She is very professional, approachable and highly knowledgeable with excellent communication always keeping me informed and responding promptly to any questions or concerns.
Overall would highly recommend, her professionalism and genuine care made a real difference.

We have had issues with communication, due to the size of the company and the number of different departments. Chloe Jewell has arranged for all communication to come through her, which will help us greatly. We find Chloe to be very friendly and helpful indeed and it is a pleasure to deal with her.

I’m grateful to the nice service provided by Kelly McDermott and her colleagues in the Minton office of Thornley Groves Estate Agents throughout the whole process of viewing.

I’ve worked with a few members of the team at their Whitworth Street office over the years, particularly Samantha Smith and Herbert Chung in the rental department. Both have consistently been very efficient, helpful, and easy to deal with.

What stands out most is their communication; emails are answered promptly, and they’re always responsive on the phone, which makes a big difference when things need to move quickly. You get the sense that they’re organised, on top of their workload, and genuinely care about keeping things running smoothly.

I’ve also had some interaction with the maintenance department, which has been generally good and reliable, though not quite as fast or responsive as the rental team.

Overall, a very positive experience: professional, efficient, and easy to work with.

Whilst rarely leaving reviews, I thought it appropriate to commend Thornley Groves (and, in particular, Owain Lacey, my immediate property manager contact and with specific reference to their managed lettings service) for the service they have provided to me.
From my point of view, it is fair to say that the letting experience has improved since "homes4u" was absorbed into Thornley Groves. The business is efficient and well run and all the staff with whom I have had direct contact have been both polite and helpful. I would recommend their services as I believe they operate in an honest manner to the benefit of both tenants and landlords (not something one would always say about agents!).

Thornley Groves have managed my property since July 2024. Chloe Jewell is my personal property manager who is always extremely caring and professional. She returns any calls quickly and is reliable and efficient.

Although only having recently taken over as my Property Manager, Gemma has been responsive and proactive in dealing with issues. I’m certainly pleased that all the maintenance and repairs are on track and that’s down to Gemma pushing it along and getting the contractors locked in. Gemma is definitely ‘building peace of mind!’

They had all my information and did not carry out their duties or due diligence. I have been corresponding with the Landlord directly with great ease, yet Thornley Groves still manage to screw things up by sending my personal information to third parties. This has been the third or fourth manager who has shown her incompetence!!

Honestly people, don't deal with these third party Property management companies as they do nothing except take money from the landlord and do nothing for the tenant except cause hassle, aggravation and trespass.

Remember landlords, it is you who have to deal with the legal implications when the property management company cause issues.

Why are you paying for this ignorant and poor service?

Tenants, stay away from Thornley Groves and go directly to the landlord for communication. The Property Management company have no contract with you and they have no rights. You can refuse to work with them and work with the landlord instead.

They are useless.............. shut them down.

I have always found the team to be accommodating professional and responsive. More recently most of my dealings have been with Katie. Even when slight errors have been on our side as tenants I have found Katie to deal with everything in a timely professional process driven way.
