Rubbish service. Not customer orientated.
Train 20 mins late then stopped halfway through the journey ( Coleraine) and said to wait on the next. Said easier for them. Not impressed. Nothing to heed the train completing its journey from Belfast to Derry. Rubbish service.
Journey from Belfast to Dublin…
Journey from Belfast to Dublin excellent. Coming home, despite having allocated seats on our ticket, there were no names on the seats and it was a bun fight to get on. Only to find other people in our seats and as it said 'seat available ' they would not move! Very poor service. Lots of people standing, put on extra carriage or train especially at Christmas.
Terrible
Lived in NI all my life and never seen such an unreliable, unpredictable service! Good luck if you want to get anywheere

my bus the ballycastle via clougmills 131 from Ballymena bus station is always so packed and and passengers are unable to sit on seats while travelling And it’s so cramped so we would like a double decker asap not forcing but I think it would be best for me and others on the bus as it is way safer, and alot better for the bus driver, thank you best wishes
the Translink app has a way to go
The Translink app is cumbersome and not intuitive. The app does not appear to save common journey settings or show an easy to view timetable.
NO DISABLED ACCESS OR PICK-UP/DROP OFF PARKING
A massive shiny new shed with vastly spaced seating. On Tuesday evening I went to collect my disabled mother and father who has a heart condition. There is NO space or place to park a car, I had a wheelchair in the boot for my Mum who was on crutches with a spine condition and rheumatoid arthritis. I went to the ticket gates and asked a young attendant if there was somewhere outside the station, close, where I could park. She informed me that there wasn't. The train arrived, and the chair I brought was in the boot of my car in mccauslands value car park. I asked could I go and assist them, help them to the nearest chair so I could go and get the chair. She said she can't let anyone past the turnstile without a ticket. I said, well do you have a wheelchair in the station my Mum could use, she asked two or three colleagues, who 'thought' there was one. There wasn't, 2024, a new transport hub and none of the staff could find a wheelchair, wouldn't let me through to help my parents, I had to watch while my Mum struggled in visible pain across the vast station floor. Eventually I got them to some of the very few seats in the shiny big shed, went and got the car, drove to the place I could get the car closest, unmarked and undesignated I might add. I don't think I have ever been as angry in my life, not at the staff who are only implementing management's strategy and procedures. Translink are breaking every disability law in the book. The foresight of a mole, to build a massive, mostly air-filled transport hub and have absolutely little to no disability assistance, access or procedure. They are breaking the law, unashamedly unapologetic, nobody seems answerable with puppet politicians holding nobody to account, and a CEO who gets paid more than the Prime Minister, can't afford a wheelchair though. I will probably get some fines for illegal turns too. Imagine a multi million pound transport hub that that took ZERO consideration of access and traffic flow immediately surrounding it, JOKE!!!!!
Awful service from new spoor servicetation
Awful service from new station, on last 3 Journeys two of them the bus was full and I was turned away got home 90 mins late and was late for work. Was 60 mins late on the other occasion, no apology from inspector who said well there were 59 others before you. On the 3rd occasion the bus was 40 mins late. Terrible service, rude staff. Going back to driving a car despite the harm to the environment and traffic congestion

Useless the 1e bus drove right past a group of 5 people waiting for it on the antrim road at 7:15 the bus wasn't full and the driver laughed at us as he passed useless company with useless drivers
No toilets available
Is it possible that I took 2 trains today and not a single toilet worked! Should be the least for what they charge for they very old and slow trains. Felt like in 3rd world country.
A national disgrace
A national disgrace! During storm Darragh Translink on their website said they would be operating a reduced service from 14:30 due to weather conditions. The Airport bus 300 would be running at 30 minute intervals. We arrived at 22:00 glad, or so we thought, that we had arrived in time to get a bus. 22:30, 23:00, and 23:30 came and went with no bus, and no updates on the app. Why do they bother? The management obviously have no care for the job they do, or more like, don’t do and there is no responsibility or accountability for failure after abysmal failure. Pathetic!
THE OLD SERVICE WAS MORE EFFICIENT
All I can do is compare my experience of Translink trains from before the changes following the opening of Grand Central.
There are more delays. Everything centres around Grand Central with the Bangor /Portadown line being ended and now travellers have to change at GC. adding extra time to the journey. Toilets are too far away and too few for a busy bus and train station. People want a fast efficient train network as a priority and convenient and plentyful toilets and seating when required. It's more like a shopping centre which is great if your waiting for a connection but for the commuter who are the majority users it's a downgrade from the service that existed before.
Unreliable
Timetables are made up nonsense. Bought a return train ticket from Antrim to Lanyon Place and timetable said last train leaves at 23:20. On arrival for return journey was told last train left at 22:50 leaving me stranded in Belfast

Poor foresight into timetable planning and implications of new station.
Travel to anywhere beyond GCS (From Portadown line.) made unduly difficult due to all other Belfast City Centre stops being relegated to the Bangor line (Previously part of the Portadown line.), making it necessary to consult two separate timetables when planning a journey. Little consideration shown towards transfers to these stops from GVS with trains frequently being late or it simply being quicker to walk to the location rather than wait up to 20 mins for a connection.
New station is egregiously large given the population of NI. Crowds build up often at peak times regardless, due to implication of ill tuned, slow ticket gates (which are often opened manually when queues get too large anyway).
Station also chose M&S, Starbucks and Brewdog over local stores and businesses that gave the old station some character.

How can they mess it up so quick? Given wrong information twice in Grand Central. Driver on bus to GB airport rude unfriendly. I’m local but English people behind us and I was embarrassed by him .
A dire service
A dire service. I took train from Dublin to Belfast, there was an unscheduled train change and we arrived over one hour late.
A really useless organisation
These so called experts and logistics specialists couldn't organise their way out of a paper bag.
£340 million on a new station, employing purple shirted useless people who don't know what's going on.
Buses frequently pulling up the to the wrong bay causing chaos. Buses frequently late. Massive queues for over subscribed buses where they would have needed 3 buses at the same time.
This happens every day at the same time you would think someone would have a bit of grey matter to think "maybe we should put on 2 or 3 buses at peak.
Biggest mismanagement of MY tax payers money and were stuck with this ineffective organisation.

4 busses denied me and my children to get on the bus as it was to “full” however EVERY SINGLE BUS had 10-15 seats available and possibly more at the top, the bottom was practically empty with only 2-3 people on. Many drive by without word, others tell you to walk! Just because I’m waiting on a bus to go to city centre and it’s a 20 minute walk doesn’t mean u are entitled to tell me to? Disgusting busses aswel always poorly taken care of, multiple busses that were meant to come 30 minutes ago have not arrived still. Don’t ride with translink honestly horrible heartless drivers, also they like to be bipolar with the times they arrive, traffic or not they’ll always be late😊
Absolutely useless
Absolutely useless. Train late by 20 mins as it needed to be refuelled. Should this not be part of the schedule? Government attempting to promote public transport but service is absolutely dire. Stick to the car as the only reliable option with the poor management of public transport. All those is senior positions should be sacked with immediate effect for gross incompetence. NI still in the dark ages regarding transport infrastructure and delivery of services. Embarrassing and no longer acceptable for the great people of this country.
