Beware! A Complete Scam and Rip-Off!
I am incredibly frustrated with True Auto Protection Warranty. When I signed up, I was promised coverage for two years, plus an additional two years for free. However, the real issue came to light when I called them in May about my A/C blowing hot air. At that time, the issue wasn’t consistent, so I didn’t feel the need to take time off work for repairs. I thought it would be fine to wait it since I still got cold air.
Now, months later, the A/C finally gave out completely, and when I reached out for coverage, they used my earlier call against me. They demanded that I provide maintenance receipts from that time, as if I should have had the “repair”done immediately. This is completely unfair and unreasonable. It’s like they’re punishing me for calling them and being transparent I mean if something isn’t broken why fix it? Cause if it was I would’ve fixed it earlier obviously didn’t need it. No AC in a car is hell anyway.. I never expected that my call for help would later be used as a loophole to deny my claim. The car was fine at that time, and I had no reason to rush repairs. But now, they’re demanding proof and making it nearly impossible for me to get the coverage I paid for.
This is a blatant scam. They should honor the coverage regardless of when the issue arises, especially since I was upfront with them. It’s unjust to expect customers to have maintenance records for issues that weren’t ongoing at the time.
In short, this experience has been a complete disappointment, and I strongly advise others to stay away. They do not keep their promises and will find any excuse to deny coverage. Also, SIDENOTE: after reviewing the paperwork, it’s clear that I was initially sold on a two-year warranty that would extend to four years. But in reality, once you reach that mileage limit, the coverage is essentially void. This crucial detail is not properly disclosed, making it feel like a bait-and-switch.
Scam
I received the letter and actually called the number. I called on july 14 2025 and when i called the customer service number 1877 608 8978 and 1877 397 1021 again on july 17, 2025 to get a refund the person i spoke to told me in a mocking tone " best luck to you." To me it meant "good luck getting a refund "
I don’t own a car. Why would I need extended warranty
I don’t own a car. This is just a scam. I called to ask why they sent me a letter and why am I on some record.

STEER CLEAR OF TRUE AUTO
I received a notice for a warranty extension; funny thing though, I DON’T OWN A CAR. When I called customer service, I gave the person the info he requested. He typed it into his system, for some reason had my name, told me to “yup, tear it up” and without a f’ you or anything polite, he just hung up. STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY!!! Hello, Better Business Bureau…
I received a letter from True Auto…
I received a letter from True Auto Protection the person I got did not give his name and wwas very rude when I started asking about what was covered.
I asked for the website to confirm the coverage, and he slapped the phone down,
True Auto need better customer service or they are going to lose more potential customers than me.
They lie!
So I been getting about 3 letters to my mailbox in the last 4-5 months. Stating warranty extension if needed. The company is deceiving! They make it sound like they will take care of you. So before I decided I said this is too good to be true. If my warranty is extended and anything catrophastic happens to the engine when I buy it now you will protect it right? Tim crooke the person selling this to me said yes. Stating the second you buy from them you have coverage. Meaning anything mechanical wise like let's say engine or transmission went out. They got you covered as long as you pay the deductible which was stated $55. So my car went out half a month later which is today. After asking for a refund for towing they now mention you only get one towing reimbursement but it has to be the shop. Like what kind of dumb towing reimbursement is that? You only get one for all the time paid with them? It's 10pm at night and your services says 24/7 we got you. They act like they have their own personal towing/repair services that is 24/7. What joke! So then now after calling and asking they say there is a 30 day policy when it starts to verify vehicle is working so basically once you fork the first payment you aren't covered. But never mentioned it. So I called and was sent to their claims department. Carlos says since your engine is now having issues and your policy hasn't started yet, but was told once you pay us you get covered but never mentioned of there is literally like a 45 day waiting period once you fork over payment. You have to pay out of pocket regardless of situation. So I ask to cancel and then carlos is like why...and then sends over to another person. Next guy was much more nice but kept saying why don't I keep the warranty. What warranty is there if the car isn't going to be used and i'm going to have to pay thousands out of my own pocket? You're going to be profiting money while my car is out. Like I said a bunch of deceivers. They say xxx is stated in policy. But they honestly don't seem to stand by what they say once you tell them issues are among the vehicle. Stay away. And last thing if you read a lot of the positive reviews on this site. Many of the reviews look and sound so fake. Terrible grammar and the experience just sounds so fake and many of the accounts have one review made only. If they really stand by what they say and not bail out when it comes to their so called extended warranty. They probably wouldn't have got so many negative reviews stating how bogus their service is.

Predatory marketing practices
I received an unsolicited letter from this company, urging me to extend my warranty. The wording used in this letter is purposely chosen to make it seem like their coverage is required and that a warranty from them is urgently needed. Don’t fall for it. This is a tactic to scare you into buying a warranty from them, which will usually be very expensive and/or have poor coverage when you really need it. They are able to get your vehicle’s information from public records, but they have no association with the manufacturer and do NOT actually know if your warranty is expired. Don’t give them your money.
Basically this company has issues with…
Basically this company has issues with getting peoples personal information… sending them threaten letters regarding there own vehicles… of which was is and never had been contracted through an by this entity. Too me they appear to be fraudulent, anytime a company sets out to violate individual rights of a consumer… they have stepped over the line. Personal information is private an it’s up to the consumer if an when they wish to be bugged. It’s a violation of privacy rights an quite frankly… I’m thinking about suing.Question… Is business that bad to where… nowadays a company has the write to step outta bounds an disseminate vicious letters threaten a innocent person to call them an give them there personal info… ima answer that QUESTION NO!! Also…I am going to report this fraudulent company to the better business bureau an secondly the FBI. Too all who are reading this review … simply go online an look at all the reviews etc of a negative capacity from these characters. No one wants your services an stop committing fraud by reaching out to the innocent an soliciting business.
I have a 72 old father who purchased…
I have a 72 old father who purchased this insurance. When it was time to file a claim they denied it because they said he gave him the wrong mileage. The vehicle had 80,000 miles and the insurance said 83,000, Nevertheless when he spoke to Al (customer service rep) he was very rude, to the point he was yelling. Then transferred to Bob (supervisor). Which never gave the customer the chance to explain or speak. Suggestion for this company to first have compassion for the different types of people you interact with. Take the time to first explain their product to the customer. So they understand. Not just to get the sale! Second do the right thing and have some class about the way you speak to people even if it is the customers mistake. Personally listening to the conversation over the phone and how your customer service was. I would not want to do business with you or even suggest this to anyone else. My dad ended up canceling this service and I pray that we do not have any more issues.
Scam!!!I got this warranty a year ago…
Scam!!!I got this warranty a year ago and paid 130.00 month for last year. When I got warranty the guy that sold it to me explained to me that Nissan Altima’s usually have transmission problems. So I bought this warranty when my car was at 98,000 miles . My car was not new when I bought it so I figured this warranty would be extra protection. So at 105,000 miles my car started having issues with getting stuck in gear and not shifting . The check engine light didn’t come on but I still took to dealership and of course got there and it ran fine for them. So I ended up paying the 150.00 diagnostic out of pocket cause They had nothing to go off of and to do the extended warranty they need proof like a code.I got my oil changes regularly so that I kept up with what the warranty said of keeping maintenance up and doing the tune-ups and stuff. The dealership told me I shouldn’t do a transmission flush since it’ll make the transmission go out sooner. They explain to me to bring the car back when there was a code because the extended warranty places need proof. So it took about 6 months before engine light came on. I rushed it in to dealership cause at this point my car is really messing up I would have to stop and turn off and turn on to shift into gear. The dealership calls the warranty place and they want records of it having a transmission flush before they cover anything. Well I purchased this car at 90,000 so I never thought of getting a transmission flush cause I’m sure place I bought it from did that before they sold car to me. It’s a well known dealership I got it from. So know I’m out over 1500 dollars for paying for this extended warranty for a year cause they refuse to cover transmission costs also the second time I went in I ended up having to pay for another diagnostic fee. So know I have to pay 4000 for my transmission to get fixed .The true auto extended warranty company tried putting blame on the Nissan dealership for saying they should’ve changed transmission fluid when I first brought in which would’ve costed me another 200 on top of the 120.00 that I already already paid. What’s the point of having a extended warranty. When I got purchased warranty guy made it sound all simple like any car issues just bring into a shop that you prefer and just pay 100 dollar deductible and your good to go no questions asked. No that is not true !!This company is the biggest crooks . I cancelled my contract and of course they had no problem doing it cause they already got a years worth of free money from me! I will be putting in a complaint to the bbb. This is so wrong to do this to someone. I’m looking at the comments and looks like they have taken advantage of elderly people too.smh
ITS A SCAM!!
ITS A SCAM!!! They sold my mom an extended warranty which will end after
60,000 miles. My moms car at the time had 72,000 miles that’s where they get you
