Started out Oct 7 sent in all info they asked for. They now have copies of my bc, my SS, my medical insurance, my license, two copies of the signed form yet they still want more three weeks into this and they deliver nothing yet they keep 15 bucks. I was trying to save 7 hours if driving to pick up a dc. But this was way way worse.

Well this company a joke long story short. I told them I lived in Canada she said to scratch out State and County and put in the province Ontario Canada. She then said to get sworn statement notarized which cost me 125.00 and when I went to continue the process I was informed I needed to get it notarized at the U S embassy... So I spent that money for nothing.. Horrible experience...

I used VitalCheck to obtain my birth certificate so I could get a passport. After 3 months I discovered that my order had been canceled and the $57 fee that I paid them refunded. They DID refund the fee, but I never received word of the cancellation or refund and no explanation was given for the cancellation.
On top of that, they contracted BirthCertificateState.com to do the actual search, for which I was billed an additional $79.95. I have NOT received any refund for that, and am still trying to get it. I have a feeling that I got ripped off by VitalCheck & their agent. NEVER AGAIN!!

I called this company to check the status of my order. I waited about 35 minutes on hold to cancel my order. When the representative came on, I could not find the information she needed. She advised me that she could only hold for a few moments and she would have to move on as calls are holding. I held for over a half hour and she threatened to end my call? They take your money, make you hold and don't even give you the same respect. Even her supervisor said calls were holding and made me feel as if it was proper protocol. Let me tell you, the calls will always be holding.

I decided to use vital chek to order my grandmothers death certificate so we went over all information seemingly complete then 2 days later I get an email stating record not found and the name displayed was not my grandmothers married name but was her maiden name. I called customer service and while waiting for a representative keep getting message how your call is important to us please continue to hold and we are experiencing very long wait times. If our calls and business is so important why dont they employ enough staff members to handle the work load? just empty words. I finally got to tell the representative about the issue and she said that they would review it and listen to the call and get back with me within 24 hrs which was 9 AM today. no call no email what a lousy operation. If you can avoid the headache with vital chec and their exorbitant fees for incompetence then do yourself a favor and avoid them and their 33.00 incompetence fee!!!

Went three weeks without them going over the application. Only when I followed up on my own they needed a copy of my signature from an email they claimed to have sent day one and tried blaming me for their problem. No email was located nor could they prove they sent one. When confronted they undisputedly processed a refund for their three week delayed service immediately. they would avoid answering questions when confronted about the issue. Called the local health department who was able to process the birth certificate same day as a walk up for $25 a copy. Not sure why they are advertised as the fastest method locally. Online fee expedited was just shy of $100 with a 4-6 week processing time after mailing the the application. Not even trying to dispute the issue and immediately refunding says it all. Call your local health department about faster and economic methods that are pro citizen versus just profit.

After I registered with Vitalchek, the very next day my debit card was compromised. I have spent hours trying to undo this scam and I am no where near the end of being able to protect myself from further financial abuse. They are the only entity that I registered with in months so it has to be them. They are the only way to get death certificates from the State of Massachusetts (that needs to change). The bill for 2 death certificates for my dad was $108.00 and was going to take weeks. I then went to the city of Boston site and got them in less than a week for $28.00. The fraud in my bank accounts continues.

I ordered my birth certificate today and came across their reviews unfortunately I had already paid for their services I called and emailed them over and over finally I got through and they were extremely rude. They said they are gonna refund my money I guess I'll just wait and see if not I'm will dispute it with my bank.Please do not use their services it's a complete scam gave them my personal info my bank instructed me to get a new card great another hassle!!!

After I made the purchase for 2 death certificate, then the website required me to notarize additional document. It should have shown the requirement before purchase.
Instead, I went to local civic center and got the document already.

I began ordering my Birth Cirtificate. It was about 25$. Once I finished filling out all my information they showed me a 15$ "processing fee". I thought, Well, I already filled it out. And BORROWED money to pay the rest. I ordered it and it said my total was about 40$. They then send me an Email saying they recieved my order, and are sending it through UPS Air, which is costing me 20$. I didn't have an option to select anything at checkout, and I wasn't notified of the extra charge until after I already clicked pay. I am now paying 60$ for something that I only agreed to pay 40$ for, but should only cost 25$.

I'm contacting the better business bureau about this.

I'm not even sure if this company is legit because I never received my package and they wouldn't provide a full refund or even a credit so I could reorder it. It seems like they take your money and then when you file a claim for a lost package they tell you they can't do anything else for you. I had such a poor experience with the customer service escalations team from this company. I wish I remembered the man's name because he was extremely condescending and rude, and should not work in customer service. No empathy at all and just kept repeating that he couldn't help me. He called me a liar when I said I didn't receive my package because he saw that there was proof of delivery from the delivery service. I explained there is no signature on the proof of delivery stamp, which he confirmed he could not see either. What a joke of a service.

Please do not do business with VitalChek. They're out there to take you $15.50 at a time haha. Their trick is to get you to request an important document like a birth certificate and then require excessive validation to get it which makes you want to search for another route to get a copy of your birth certificate. They charge $15.50 as soon as you start the process and its non refundable. Very Shady. please avoid this company at all costs.

It's a LexisNexis company and LexisNexis' main business is scamming customers so don't expect anything from Vitalchek other than scams and total BS.

1) you can't contact the company
2) even when you submit all documents they'll find a reason to not send
3) I asked today to cancel
4) if no response will contact my CC

I've ordered from this company before so I know they're legit. However, this time around I ordered a birth certificate, gave me the summary of charge when I put in my card info. Once the payment was processed, I was surprised to see a receipt for and additional $18.50 for shipping. It was not disclosed in the summary prior to payment, nor did it give me an option on what kind of shipping method I would like to use. Sneaky, sneaky, sneaky company! Charging prime for convenience. I will definitely go straight to the registars office next time. Save myself $30 on fees.

Scam, they have a contract with TN, did not ship records, I can't believe this is even legal to do this to people.

I suggest everyone call The state that you are in and complain.

Great if you are ordering for yourself and are not required to submit any documentation, if you are required to submit documents it’s a crap shoot when it will be processed and get mailed out. I ordered one for my husband July 28, it’s August 19 and they kept changing what documents I needed. I sent in last requested documents last week and got an email that the order is on hold and they need more documents but did not say what else was needed, documents from last week are still under review. My husband went ahead and ordered one for himself, did not need any documents and it was literally shipped out within 24 hours!!

Terrible company and process, my mom died and needed death certificates and they made the process painful and added to my suffering. Uploaded tons of legal documents and none were ever enough. I finally just canceled and went through the funeral home. They are Inconsiderate, incompetent and horrible to deal with. Plus they don't explain what happens to those legal confidential documents you uploaded. They should be destroyed.

I just ordered and expedited (a bit more $) a birth certificate. Arrived in two days!

Terrible site, hard to get answers, whe. I requested my sons adopted birth certificate, I gave all the information they asked for, they said it would be done in 48 hrs tops. 2 weeks later, not done. I emailed again, " oh we're busy". Finally when they got back they asked for more information, that they could've asked weeks earlier, and the courts had already given them.
I canceled my order, easier to go in person to the offices. Just FYI, they also charge JUST FOR USING THE SITE! She charged me $15.50 because "you used our site to place the order, even if you don't get the thing you ordered, you decided to use us, so give us that $15.50" when I was the one putting in all the work and waiting. Scam site, shady and slightly fraudulent.
