We pre-booked and pre-paid £105 for Western cars to pick up me and my friends (4 young girls) outside a bar for our friend’s birthday for 1.45am. At 1.45am however there was no sign of our taxi and I proceeded to call them and ask to which I found the taxi had not even been scheduled in to pick us up. They came 1 hour late and we were stranded outside in the cold not able to return into the bar as it was closed which was a very bad circumstance when we are young and vulnerable. They also did not trust that we booked and paid for the taxi so I had to send them the receipts. Since then they have not given any money back and have ignored our requests with no formal apology and we will not use them again as this was a very unsafe circumstance.

We missed the last train whilst in Horsham last night and felt stranded! We phoned Western Cars and they despatched a driver to collect us straight away. The communication was amazing and we were advised of when our taxi arrived and the reg plate. The driver was friendly and ensured that we had got in the front door safely before he left. We were quoted a fixed price which was the price we paid. I will definitely be saving their number in my phone for when we next need a taxi.

Good journey to Brighton and return. Excellent BMW 5 series. Very clean and driver was very helpful, friendly and accomplished.

We had booked a taxi to go to an event at 7pm along side a return booking at 12pm.
We were then called at 6.58pm to be informed that the driver was 25 minutes away, when pre booking taxis you would expect to have it turn up on time. When speaking to the operator they didn’t have our return journey either which was also pre booked. Useless, unprofessional and rude, with no apologies either or any suggestions or help from there onward

Dangerous Driving!!!

On a recent journey home from Gatwick Airport we experienced a driver who could only be described as all over the place. Regularly swerving into the centre of the road, taking corners dangerously and nearly colliding with a central reservation. After complaining we were told this was down to the driver 'avoiding minor hazards', which is entirely wrong and quite frankly an offensive response.

We can only put this down to overworking drivers, or a complete lack of care in who they are employing.

After using Western for years, we will not be using again.

I've used Western Cars quite a few times for local journeys- their booking app is great and their automated telephone booking is very useful. However, I rang up to book a cab, the operator was really rude and told me they only did airport journeys. Not sure if this is a recent change, I used their services locally last month. No other options given and hung up on. Not a great experience.

No stars for this company I rang up and asked for a Taxi from Uckfield to Buxted station which is about 3 miles they said they couldn’t do the job because it was out of their area!!!! and here’s me thinking they go to any area and if they did do the job I would have to pay up front😳 but it would cost 45.00 !!!!!! well I nearly fainted what an absolutely awlful company I would never ever use them 😡

Zero stars! Terrible service from the start.

-Pre-payment set up complicated
-Booking address errors so had to call back to rectify
-On taxi arrival (late), driver refused to take passenger as there is no note of pre-paid journey. Advised our client paid and claimed it back. We had already paid £360!!!

-Taxi 30 min late, although apparently unless you state you need 'meet and greet' this is usual service- NOT communicated at the start.

-Upon requesting a VAT invoice.
This is not something they can provide (they are VAT registered) as I need to be set up with an account again NOT communicated. For future reference the journey cost would have been £360 + 20%- BARGAIN!

Overall, it was very clear that this was a business related journey (payment taken from a business and the nature of the journey) so above information should have been clearly communicated.

Excellent service. This was the first time we used Western Cars to get to and from Gatwick. They gave immediate responses by texts to my bookings and then another text to say that a taxi was on its way with reg. no., colour and make of vehicle. We were picked up at the times booked by courteous and helpful drivers and the quoted prices were adhered to. Would definitely use them again.

Ordered a taxi a few weeks in advance via their app for a wedding we were attending. We needed a minimum of 6 seats as we were intending to travel with our 3 children. Without any notice or notification the taxi was cancelled on the day leaving us completely without transport. When we called to ask why our car was cancelled they would not give us an answer and quoted £30 more than the price we were originally given to reinstate the booking. Very disappointed.

Booked westerncars for the next day at midday, for a trip from burgess hill into brighton. They cancelled it without letting me know due to no available drivers which led me to waiting for a no show taxi and making me miss my graduation lunch.

Avoid at all costs.

Shocking to confirm a booking when actually they never had a car available - do not use !!!!

Booked taxis with this company to take me to and from a social event on Saturday. Outbound trip was booked for 6pm and return journey was booked for 11.15pm.

First taxi arrived five minutes early with plenty of notice through a mobile notification saying it was arriving and a description of the vehicle. Nice driver and clean, comfortable car - no complaints.

Second taxi turned up at quarter past midnight after me calling their customer services number several times to chase. The line seemed to be answered by a different person each time and the answer was nearly always “your driver is on the way” or “they are ten minutes away” (they clearly were not).

Eventually, customer service told me that they had a shortage of drivers and they were “very busy”. They should have given me more notice about the issues and delays so I could have made alternative arrangements. The location I was in was quite isolated and I was effectively stranded. Also, if they’re busy they should make it their utmost effort to honour pre-booked trips. They even told me that my driver had been and gone and a second car had been dispatched. I find this unlikely as I was stood at the pick-up point from 11.10pm with a clear view of the approaching road.

I would not use this company again. The drivers themselves seem fine and the driver on the return journey was sympathetic, but the people running this business need to get a grip. I was fortunate that this was just a social event, but if my booking was for something more time-sensitive like catching a flight, I would have been in trouble.

Pre booked an hour in advance. I’m away needed daughter to get to work. She went outside no cab. Called them they cancelled. DO NOT use. They will take money and then say no cabs available. Money goes back in no problem there but u won’t be able to find another cab elsewhere. This is the 2nd time this has happened. STOP taking prebookings if u don’t have cabs available. Never use app.

If the was a way to give no stars I would . They also use a booking company to get work and they accepted a job last night and blocked it so nobody else can book it so 10 mins before they are meant to arrive they cancel the booking.theyare absolutely useless and incompetent and I am now going to be late for work in London. If its not a airport run or local to them they don't want to know total amatures

Yet again., Western Cars didn’t turn up despite pre-booking and reserving money from my card. Totally unreliable. It’s about 1 in 2 that they actually turn up. Take your chances if you like!

The driver 352 was calling me 10 minutes before the time (4:30am)that we need to come out now as he is outside. Was rushing us with bags etc! The car was dirty. The driver wanted cash and didn’t have the card reader. The journey only took 15 minutes but he was answering the calls that he was running late for another pick up! I used this company often and this was the worst experience ever!

Thé driver was ten minutes late - not his fault, he had only been given the job 4 minutes before. However we had booked it the day before - plenty of time to ensure an on time pick up

Try to get a cab out of Uckfied lateish in the evening, all local operators were closed for business, but Western Cars took the job, no problems. They definitely have a work ethic, driver Sabbir was friendly and reliable. I can highly recommend this company
