My order never arrived... this appears to be a common theme with Britbooks.

Beware, think Britbooks is a scam. Took my money, no sign of goods.

Very poor service! Book ordered on the 22/09/24 and not delivered unable to get in contact with customer services for a refund.

The book I ordered on 10th September is still showing as processing. I have emailed them twice and also messaged them via Facebook but I haven’t had any reply. The payment has been taken though!

I wish I had read these reviews before choosing a book from Brit books. It arrived,,, no delay; however I recoiled when I pulled out the book. It felt really grubby, had yellowed pages with lots of wear on the front cover where it had been scraped and touched, leaving small white areas of print ink missing. The back cover corner had been fully bent over at some point leaving a great deep crease. the pages were a bit curled and the whole thing was just grubby and disgusting. I didn’t pay much for the book hence it’s next stop will be my recycle bin! I do object however to this book being described as very good. Brit books employees need their eyes tested and maybe go to Specsavers.
Joking aside, you’re ripping people off selling used books and describing them as very good when they are no such thing. I’ve bought many used books from a different site and they have been spot on in their description. Perhaps the cost was a clue that I didn’t quite register even so I certainly would NOT buy from here again. That old adage is reverberating in my brain “ you get what you pay for” in this case Yes I did, lesson learnt.

Although originally sent wrong book ! I contacted them and this was corrected and ordered book sent . Mistakes happen it is how they are dealt with - hence the good review

Book described as very good. It is very poor. The spine is badly broken, the back and front covers are bent, the pages yellowing, but the worst is that throughout the book passages, random words and sentences are underlined. Disgraceful.

Twice now I’ve ordered via amazon 2 books from britbooks and the books never arrived. Really disappointed for this to happen not once but twice.’How do books get lost in the post twice? I’m beginning to think that they were never even sent in the first place. Got my money back with no issues but I will go elsewhere in future.

I ordered 6 books described as in Very Good Condition.
3 were badly damaged. The time and trouble it took to get a refund is another example of their incompetence.
They couldn't even apologise!

I ordered a book on Amazon.com in May 2024. Was advised on Amazon that the book will be delayed.
I gave a delivery address - when this outstanding book was queried in Aug with BritBooks, they advised the book is ready for collection. Say what?Exactly where must I collect a book that was marked for delivery? And how must I collect something if I am not advised where, when, etc?
Still haven't received the book.
STAY AWAY!!! SCAMMERS!!!
Pathetic "Book shop". Stay far far away.

Avoid! Never received the book that I paid for. They don't communicate. I'm doubtful that this is a British company. I am aggrieved to give one star. Scammers. I will continue to use WOB for a fast, reliable service.

Came on here to remark about the excellent experience using the Brit Book store, and was surprised to see so many poor reviews. All I can add is my book arrived the day after and listed as Very Good the book for all intents and purposes appears brand new.
Even included a magnetic bookmark inserted inside the inner leaf. Will certainly use the store again without hesitation. I awarded 5 out of 5. Thank you.

Bought a used music cd, I wasn’t happy with the quality and complained, they were quick to respond with apologies and sent a replacement which was great.

i informed them i did not want a recurring subscription and i had cancelled it last year ... they wrote today saying they have taken more money

Ordered a book, it never arrived, they sent me fake tracking details to say it had arrived. Got a refund through ebay and a replacement book sent, which also never arrived. What a waste of time, incompetent company. Not going to buy from them again. Disappointed and annoyed.

Avoid - Book Never Arrived, No Comms at All!

Attempted to buy a book from them in Feb 2024, paid via Paypal and had a transaction hold email from Paypal but no other communications to suggest an invoice or order confirmation.

Emailed and contacted via website but no replies.

Have checked today and appears that the PayPal transaction has been cancelled (or timed out?!), but there has been absolutely no communication from Brit Books at all.

Would avoid if you actually like to receive an order or like a response from customer services.

Not happy I was supposed to receive my order by today at the latest now being told it will arrive by 20th. 5 days later what a joke will never trust this company again they are a disgrace.

Do not buy from them, they are a fraudulent business and do not have the books you order. .instead they will send you something lightweight to show they have sent something BE WARNED.!!!

Ordered something desribed as 'Used/Very Good', very good in as in; 'Dog-eared, water-damaged, cack-handedly dried out'. 'FILTHY' is the word that springs to mind. So BEWARE, AVOID. Like the Plague.

I wish I had read the reviews before I ordered from them. Very bizarre experience!
I ordered 2 books about 3 weeks before Christmas assuming they would arrive in time. Nothing turned up by Christmas. I went elsewhere to get the books. I had paid via PayPal and the money just sat in “pending.” I contacted PayPal who refused to cancel the transaction - very helpful!!! 1 book then finally turned up a week after Christmas looking very dog-eared. No sign of the other book even though there was a scribbled note on the invoice saying it was coming separately. A month after the initial order PayPal finally cancelled the payment as the company had never claimed the money. No sign of the second book, no message from Britbooks and they never took my payment. I can’t even claim it’s a scam, just a very poorly run company!
