Works ok sort of.
Worked fine in that I got the bike through work. But once I had submitted my application the cycle scheme account site becomes some sort of accessories retail site and anytime I wanted to log in to my account I was taken there. When I called their help line he was useless telling me I had to get my company to do something to get me logged in again. I didn’t need to do so. The bike came as expected. So they do the job but don’t bother trying to log in to your account once you submit the application and it’s approved. But if you do need to it could be difficult. Use another scheme if you have a choice.
(Folowing the reply below I'm adding: Thank you for this explanation which clarifies the matter. I don't know why there are no records of my issue as I phoned your number on 3rd July and spoke to someone who obviously did not understand the issue and so could not give an explanation as you have now.
All sorted now anyway thank you.

Unfortunately, I cannot see any notes on the account regarding the issues you have had, however to try and shed some light on this.
Cyclescheme is hosted on our benefits platform called Extras. Extras contain a lot of the other benefits we offer, however you would have a personal dashboard that holds the benefits you have interacted with/used (in this case Cyclescheme).
When you request a certificate, you are also creating an Extras login, however your employer has chosen to manually approve these logins (which is where the issue/delay would have come from), and why you where told to speak to your employer directly.
I hope that sheds some light on what I believe happened here.

SImple and fantastic value
The process is simple and the calculator to see how much you will pay is excellent. I didn't splash out on a bike that was over specced for my needs and that made the bargain that this would always be even better. Very happy with my new shiny dark red bike and it goes like the wind!

A positive experience, with one thing to flag
Cyclescheme itself was really good — clear process, fast replies, always helpful when I had questions.
The delay was on the payment by my company's side, after the certificate was approved. Not anyone's fault really, just slow internal steps, but I ended up being the one following it up, again and again, on my own.
My feedback for Cyclescheme: after approval, that is the moment things can go quiet. A proactive follow-up with the employer at that point would help a lot, so the employee is not left chasing it alone.
Overall: a good scheme, just needs a bit more support at the handover stage, so people don't feel they are pushing it forward by themselves.

Don't forget delivery
The people behind the scenes were very helpful when helping me resolve first of all requesting a new voucher value and second of all changing shop. However, there are a few pitfalls I found frustrating. When purchasing online with Evans cycles (I gather it would be the same anywhere else), I was purchasing things for myself under the scheme and some things for my wife. There was no mechanism to top up the funds on the order to cover my wifes items meaning I had to make a second order and hence pay two rounds of delivery costs. It's a shame there isn't a mechanism to identify which items on an order should be covered by the voucher such that people buying more can stick to a single order and not multiply up the delivery costs. I also hadn't considered the delivery cost at all when determining my voucher value which meant I had to drop an item off my purchase, so a warning to others not to be as foolish as I was.

We are pleased to hear our customer service was able to help you out when needed.
Unfortunately, HMRC/Department for Transport changed the ruling regarding 'top-ups' at the start of 2020 (when scheme limits were removed). This is most likely due to issues regarding 'duel ownership' of the equipment, which goes against the process of it being a Hire agreement.
As Evans cannot identify (via their systems) which items are for you and which are for your wife, it simply stops the transaction from happening to make sure the rules are adhered to. You are able to include the postage cost within the certificate value (in fact we recommend it as you'll save the Tax/NI), but that would only cover your own order.
We hope that at least sheds some light on the process.
