Good choice of wood burning stoves. We knew we wanted an Esse so we didn't get advice on our choice however the customer service for delivery was excellent . Straightforward website and good price... Toon meer

The only reason why they DON'T have 1 star rating is twofold - a) they replied to my questions in a timely manner and b) the refund was quick.

Ordered 13/3/26 with requested installation 10 April which seemed fine when ordering but few days later told they needed few more days but as I was going on holiday we agreed 20 April. Installers all confirmed.
On 20 April installers arrived at your warehouse to find on,y half of the order there - just the fire and flue but no slips or hearth, Surely you have someone who checks and expedites orders in advance of collection.
Missing parts delivered few days later and given an installation date …ten days later ! I spoke to the installer direct (who was lovely and agreed to ‘fit me in’). However he had other issues and we eventually agreed an installation date of one week later.
And so it continues, installer arrived only to find the legs of the fireplace did not match the dimensions for the ‘slips’ and once again could not be installed…..the legs were taken away and had to wait a further 12 days.
Today…2 months later …..hallelujah….its installed. Thank goodness for the installation Team.
With regard to Direct Stoves, I had to pay every penny upfront …. Verbal apology from the showroom but nothing more…. no refund discount, no offer of free extras as way of apology …. not even an email apology so clearly once they have your money the rest is just a shoulder shrug and hey ho !
I ran a large business and it is what you do to fix things and appease customer is how you are measured.
Customers who have had a bad experience will tell, on average 18 people whereas people with a positive experience may tell 4/5 people.
FURTHER INCORRECT INFO BELOW:
I was away from 12-18 April hence installation date 20/21 April. I was NOT away until 10th May. When the slips were incorrect size, the warehouse obviously would not know and I did not suggest this but clearly another ‘human error’ in ordering from your mfg.
we were told this would take a further week making it the 8th May and I was away Friday 8th with work hence the final installation date being the 11th.

Then upgraded to a more expensive model in stock with a promise of delivery next day which then did not arrive.
Had a call to say sorry it didn’t leave our hub in time we can get it to you the following day which much was to late for my needs
Rachael in customer service was polite friendly and tried to exhaust all options she had but non could get the product to me in the time frame promised

Arranged a delivery date when I ordered and took the day off. Needless to say the item didn’t arrive. I even had confirmation of that date selected on the order. This company will no doubt say I was sent an email informing me delivery would be 7-10 days. What I will say to that is it is reasonable to think that is a generic email sent out and not specific when a delivery date was previously confirmed during the order.

One of the worst experience we have ever had!
Sadly I didn’t read the reviews on this company before choosing them.
I emailed with a full description I what we wanted, and followed up with a call.
When I had emailed my requirements I was asked to do it via their website.
When I went to order the solid oak beam I had asked for the option said solid light oak beam (geocast), I called to make sure that was what I was looking for and I was assured it was.
When it arrived with the stove it was a concrete moulded beam, nothing like we had requested.
When I asked to swap it for what I had asked for I was told it was £140 to return that item as I had picked it from their website.
I explained I had had asked via email and phone for a “solid oak beam” and had no idea what a “geocast” was not being in the industry.
I looked at the standard courier cost to return and it was £70, eventually they offered it at that price but said it wasn’t insured and if there was any damage when it arrived but we would loose our £300 for the refund of the item.
6 months on, the stove is installed and the geocast still sits here in its original wrapping.
The returns guy has no interest in admitting liability or helping, our last email he advised the owner had said they wouldn’t help resolve.
The 1 star in for the installers as they did a great job, it’s just the rest of the business I would avoid!
