I went to the Blackburn store today to buy some new walking boots. Louise looked after me so well. Helped me with everything about the boots etc. Her knowledge was brilliant. Really appreciate her help and love my new boots. Thank you Louise.

Visited the Blackburn store today to buy some walking shoes, we were served by Dean. He was so helpful despite the fact that I tried on so many different shoes. He was extremely knowledgeable, thanks very much Dean. 👍👍👍

I shop at the Blackburn store every other week or so and you have a terrific guy called Graham working there in the fishing department. This person is so knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Every time I come into the store he always says hello and makes you feel very welcome. A credit to whoever employed him. Well done.

Bought a top from store it had to be delivered but it didn't come contact Blackburn was told to contact customer service I explained I bought it from them still no help ... Got given the wrong contact number won't be shopping there again

Bought a jacket. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff, makes shopping here so easy. Great value for money.

Spoke to an assistant in store about checking for a size of an item that wasn’t on the rails. Checked for us and not in store, but she told us about ordering at the till with free delivery to home.
At the till the cashier (7/0) was very efficient in placing the order for us & processing the store bought items.

I recently tried to return an online-only item to Go Outdoors and was given incorrect information twice — first over the phone, then in store. I made a physically difficult trip after a recent hospital stay, only to discover the store couldn't actually process the refund at all, despite telling me they could.
The refund was never completed, and I only discovered that when I chased it myself. No one contacted me to fix it, apologise, or even acknowledge the mistake.
What makes this worse is the complete lack of understanding or empathy for anyone dealing with health issues or an invisible disability. I was spoken to in a dismissive, process-first manner, as if the only thing that mattered was what the system allowed — not the fact that I was unwell, struggling, and had already followed the steps their own staff told me to take.
Go Outdoors feels like a company where “customer care” is just a label, not a practice. The focus is on policy, not people — and if you're chronically ill, disabled, or just need a bit of basic understanding, you will not get it here.
I’ve been a loyal customer for years, but this experience has made it very clear: accessibility and compassion are not part of their service.

As always, the staff are attentive and friendly and helpful. I have been and bought from numerous Go Outdoors stores and found them all helpful apart from once when I had cause to give a not too good review. On the whole the products are very good and priced reasonably and staff are normally very good.

A great experience, saved quite a bit of money on my mountain equipment cost with a price match, the sales assistant was absolutely brilliant. Thank you

Staff at the Blackburn store are always very helpful and £29 for a lightweight down-filled jacket is excellent value.

Friendly and helpful staff

I visited the store to purchase a pair of Rab gloves for an upcoming trip to Iceland. I had tried to purchase them online initially, but had a problem trying to use my membership card plus a gift voucher I had been given.
When I went to the till in store to pay, I was served by a lovely, helpful, young lady (Rene?).
She managed to do what needed to be done in a calm, professional manner, and even managed to get me some money off!
The gloves are brilliant. Nice, warm, and waterproof. Exactly what I need for my winter trip. And the customer service I received certainly went above and beyond. Thank you.
