GO Outdoors - Chester Reviews 

Shaz at the Saltney branch was very friendly and very helpful. She managed to answer all my questions about the product I was interested in. Which resulted in the purchase of my new walking shoes.
I visited the Chester Eastgate Street shop a few days earlier and dealt with Simon, one of the managers from Saltney, who just happened to be working in the Eastgate shop that day.
He was extremely helpful. Unfortunately when I returned to the Chester Eastgate branch, they were not as friendly and appeared to lack the knowledge Simon had offered.
As a result I travelled further than required to make my purchase from Simon and Shaz.
Well done Simon and the Saltney team.

Staff very helpful

Staff on the till were really friendly and helpful. Store has an easy layout which makes it quick and easy to find what you are looking for.
I had ordered my item online, the collection point was simple and fast.

The staff on the door appeared unwelcoming (in my opinion) it was later in the evening with maybe 45 mins left until they closed, however they should still be just as welcoming as the start of the day.

Shaz was so helpful and patient on my last trip to Go Outdoors Chester.

I was having issues with my card and banking app upon paying for my items, and she was so patient, kind and didn’t make me feel rushed which I really appreciated whilst enduring technical difficulties at the till… 😆😩

Charlie was the most helpful person you could wish for with such a pleasant manner. Nothing was too much trouble for him. We needed to purchase a roof box, he located it, had it fetched down for us, and once purchased we realized the key was not with it, and he sorted it right away.

Charlie was fantastic in helping us out! We got everything we needed for a great price!

Thank you to all the team at Chester today who helped us with our Guide camp order and additional items. You were so helpful and quick.

We visited the Chester store looking for a specific tent and were very pleased to see it on display. I then had a few questions about it and Paul was very helpful, answering everything and then helping us to find the products we wanted; he also helped me to carry some to the cashier.

Your prices are good. What went wrong was your customer service or rathe the lack of it. I went to Go Outdoors, Chester with the intention of purchasing walking boots. At the display of boots, I found a pair of interest but there was no body to assist me. After several minutes a young man walked past me but did not enquire if I needed assistance. He wandered off. I followed him and asked if he was staff. He gave a positive answer so I asked if he could get me the size I required. He dd and then just wandered off again. The boots did not fit so I decided to leave the store and come back later. I just left the boots on the seat. As I left I told a lady with a Walkie Talkie of my experience. I politely asked that if I came back later would there be someone to assist me. I did go back some time later and again there was no one to assist. Again I went back to the tills and the lady put out a call for someone to meet me at the boots display stand. After several minutes a young lady did appear and brought out another pair of different boots for me to try. I requested a larger size to try and she did oblige. Eventually I purchased the Scarpa Terra II Gortex Boots which retail at £220. Not a cheap boot.

As a customer I should not have to actively seek assistance, the assistance should be already in place.

Well their return policy is just great, no hassle, no drama.
Then we decided on more items.
At the Checkout we met Leah who was a delight, efficient, unassuming just good at her job.
During her checks she found that we had made a mistake. Leah did not send us away to fix the problem, she said wait there and then walked the length of the store to fix our mistake. 👏
Above and beyond in my book.

Had a horrendous experience with Go Outdoors online, we bought a tent and after the delivery date passed. Each day we phoned up and each day they promised us it would be delivered next day. Never turned up and then they said we need to drive to Chester to get a refund! They were fully aware we are going away tomorrow and had no tent. We we're dreading going to the store, assuming we'd get the same treatment. However Simon in the Saltney store was nothing short of amazing! He sorted it all out for us and we got our tent too! Thank you so much for saving our holiday, hope he sees this as we so very much appreciate what he did for us. Will always go to the actual store now and completely avoid the online side of things. Thank you again Simon!!

Wrong size shoes send delivered over 2 day so I had to collect twice!

Fab lady who has worked in the Outdoor footwear department more or less since this store opened once again proved her worth. Jo is so knowledgeable and helpful without ever making customers feel pressured. Her advice today on how to ensure my new walking boots are the correct size was an absolute gem as is Jo herself. Thanks so much Jo. Once more you made buying from this amazing store a real pleasure.

Assisted by Shaz,George and Lewis,their attitude towards customer service is excellent and nothing was too much trouble they worked together as team GO Outdoors should be pleased to employ loyal and considerate staff we left as very satisfied customers.

We found a great camping chair that we wanted to buy but there were none on the shelf. We asked for help from young George who checked online, checked the warehouse stock before realising that there were none other than the display model. He helped negotiate a discount for the display chair and even took us to the tills to complete our purchase. Well done & thanks to George for really looking after us.

Quality clothes at great prices for members and helpful staff

Wonderful service from Simon at the saltney, chester store. We wanted to purchase an event shelter and it wasn't any trouble for him to be diverted to help us. He was patient, extremely knowledgeable and if he didn't know something he looked it up. Amazing customer service. We bought the right thing to suit our needs and are extremely happy with it. Simon gave honest opinions and we trusted his expertise
