Many Tears Animal Rescue Reviews 

I have adopted eight beautiful, gentle little dogs from Many Tears since 2016. We adopted our most recent scared ex breeder in April 2025. The Centre staff will also continue to give adopters support after the dog has been adopted. Nothing is to much trouble for this rescue centre to make sure their dogs and new family are happy. Many Tears is the most wonderful rescue centre with Sylvia and Bill dedicating their lives to animals and not forgetting the wonderful staff who are all so caring and go above and beyond their job description. The amount of time, love, expertise and money that is spent on every dog in their care is amazing. They also have an army of Fosters who open up their homes and hearts to these poor little lost souls and help them on the road to a new and wonderful life.
I have always found MT to be very thorough with home checks and try to find the right match for these beautiful dogs. Some that I have adopted have suffered dreadful injuries like our tiny Teddy who had a smashed jaw and had lived in pain and fear for years and our little Jerry who had suffered blunt trauma to his eyes which left him almost blind. All the dogs we have adopted arrived at MT underweight with matted fur and had never had the joy of feeling grass under their feet or having a cozy, clean bed to sleep in. Many Tears take them all in and see beyond their health and behaviour issues and love every one of these ex money making machines.
How anyone can criticise MT is beyond me. Any anger should be directed at the breeders who abuse these dogs and the idiots who buy puppies on the internet instead of giving a rescue dog a second chance.
Rescue is best and MT are five star.

Volunteering at Many Tears Animal Rescue was a truly rewarding experience. Having previously visited to adopt and donate, I was familiar with the incredible work this organization does.

During the day, I walked dogs, assisted staff with various tasks, and spent quality time in the kennels providing love and attention to dogs of all backgrounds—from puppies just a few months old to those who have sadly been waiting months or even years for their forever homes.

The experience was inspiring from start to finish. Meeting fellow colleagues and hearing their personal stories about pets and animals made the day even more meaningful. I would welcome the opportunity to volunteer again if this initiative continues in the future.

Thank you to Volunteer Kay and Many Tears. We have a wonderful addition Charlie (wolfie) who is a border Collie cross. I can hostly say the whole adoption process was very detailed and thorough. We had meetings with our two other small rescue dogs and had a monitored visit to ensure all got on. I’ve just rescued my fourth ex breeding girl from Many Tears. They’ve got to be the most thorough rescue centre with rules that make sense and not just outdated myths. They manage to get these poor wretched dogs away from the disreputable breeders because they ask no questions - their priority is to get the dogs away into safety and the chance of a lovely life. They travel extensively to collect them and this takes time and a lot of money so donations are desperately needed so that they can continue.
I’ve been lucky enough to get mine from amazing foster homes but they still have a long journey before they settle and realise that they will be warm, loved, safe, fed and have all the cuddles they’ll put up with🥰
The application form is very in-depth and the home check is extremely thorough carried out by volunteers who’ve had thorough training to not leave any stone unturned just in case there’s a chance the new very scared dog could escape. I’m lucky to have a bungalow in its own grounds and we’ve erected 6’fences all around with new gravel boards as we’ve also got rescued chihuahuas.
If you’re looking to rescue a dog from many tears you must expect to go through all their procedures but you will be treated fairly and given all the support you need as they want to rehome as many dogs as they can but only to the right home.
Silvia - the mainstay of the rescue - works tirelessly and is deeply respected by all who know her. You only have to read all the other reviews to get an understanding of her commitment.
We are now the proud parents of a beautiful apricot standard poodle. Her name was Rua but we’re calling her Rosie. She’s settling in after just two weeks with us but we have a way to go. Fortunately she hasn’t been abused so her journey won’t be so arduous as my others but we have to learn house training and manners around food etc
I can’t praise many years highly enough and would always highly recommend them if I know anyone looking to adopt a dog or cat.

I can't believe what I am reading.
I have volunteered ( from afar) and supported Many Tears for 15+ years.
They do everything to help every dog that they rescue. Many have to be treated medically as well as being neutered. They have to pay for a vet to do the ops which all costs money.
Please read some of Sylvia's weekly diaries to see how committed she is.
It's in every dogs interest to be adopted to the right home. Many of them need a dog to live with to learn about life from them which they hadn't seen before being rescued. Please be kind to all these poor dogs that need the right home and there are so many supporters who have adopted.

We recently have another great exbreeding dog from Many Tears. Our gorgeous little Toastie is growing in confidence by the day. She brings so much happiness and is such a cheeky little girl. She does rely on our other dogs for reassurance and guidance so I think this is one of the reasons Many Tears like a resident dog when homing an exbreeder.
Many Tears do a great job of nurturing their dogs to give them the best start before they go to their forever home.

We got our Cockapoo from Many Tears back in July.

From the minute that we applied for her, we were kept fully updated on our application and the next steps. Many Tears were extremely thorough and professional - rightly so given that the majority of dogs they rehome are ex-breeders who have never had a home, never been on a walk, never played or had kind human interaction. Most are traumatised.

Fortunately, the dog we applied for was being fostered in Essex so we didn’t have to drive to Wales to do the meet up with our existing dog. Her foster mum, Billie, an absolute angel, was extremely informative, told us exactly what to expect and also gave us the option to think about it, if we needed time. The dog was extremely nervous and wouldn’t come near us.

We didn’t need time to think about it and took her home that day after a successful meet up with our existing dog. We knew it would be a marathon and not a sprint with her!

The fees charged by Many Tears are extremely reasonable given that some of these dogs have had other procedures, as well as the vaccinations and spaying, which clearly cost well in excess of what they charge you to adopt the dog. You also get given a bag of food and a month’s free insurance.

Nearly 5 months later and we have a totally different dog, she has come on leaps and bounds and we couldn’t be prouder. She is such a sweetheart.

Thanks to the love she received from the Many Tears Rescue staff and her foster mum, Billie, our Tula has a second, well deserved chance at life and at being a ‘dog’.

I wouldn’t hesitate to rescue another dog from Many Tears in the future.

I have a rescue from Many Tears and I have nothing but praise for the staff and the fosterers who all do a fantastic job in ensuring that the process is thorough and the right choices are made in the best interests of each dog. When I first applied for my beautiful girl, my application was rejected because I didn't have a resident dog. I was devastated but she was fostered and nurtured and her foster parents realised that she would prefer to be an only dog. I re-applied as soon as I saw her come back up on the website and was absolutely ecstatic to be accepted. They knew exactly what they needed to do for the best for my girl and I am forever grateful to them. I highly recommend this fantastic, dedicated and hardworking rescue centre 🐾🐾

I have fostered for Many Tears for more than ten years and adopted six wonderful dogs from them myself.
The dogs always come first and at times it may be necessary to say a home isn’t right for a particular dog, that may upset people, it is always difficult to say no to an eager adopter but that is never done without good reason.
The contribution Many Tears ask for each dog rarely anywhere near covers the costs of the rescue, especially from Ireland . All dogs are spayed/neutered/vaccinated/dental and any other health issues that are found are treated whenever possible, often at huge expense.
Because of the lack of love and care most of these dogs have had in their past it can take varying amount of times for them to learn to trust people and they often require very special homes and very special adopters to help them, but to see them progress to contented family members is absolutely wonderful and worth all the time and patience you may need.

I have adopted and fostered for Many Tears for over ten years. I have found Many Tears a fantastic rescue centre. The dogs are put first and staff go out of their way to make sure of this. Sylvia the owner really cares about the dogs and wants the best possible homes for them. I am shocked to read some of the negative comments on here about Many Tears. They rescue and save a lot of dogs and each one is seen by a Vet and given their vaccinations , spayed or neutered and given any other medical treatment that is needed to give them a good start for life in a home for the first time in their lives. Yes we have a rehoming process that all adopters have to go through, but this is to ensure the dog is the right fit for the adopter that has applied for them. Most of our dogs are ex breeders and will come along a lot better if there is a resident dog and an adult that is home most of the day. As an adopter and a Fosterer I have always felt fully supported by Many Tears and will continue to Foster and support this fantastic Rescue. Anyone can visit Many Tears so instead of putting pen to paper why don’t you visit and see for yourself how the dogs are so looked after and their needs put first?

I have been a volunteer fosterer for several years now and have nothing but wonderful things to say. Before joining Many Tears, I volunteered with other charities, but this rescue truly stands out. I have adopted five Many Tears dogs of my own, all of whom I love dearly. Every one of them was beautifully cared for by Sylvia and the team before coming home with me.

As a fosterer, I’ve looked after many dogs over the years. My home is regularly checked to ensure everything remains safe and secure for any foster dog in my care. Recently, I experienced my first “foster fail”—a little Frenchie who developed medical issues a few days after arriving. These were things the Many Tears team could not have known about beforehand, but even from four hours away their support was incredible. Communication was excellent, medication was sent quickly, and her issue was resolved in no time. We fell in love with her and ended up adopting her.

What the team at Many Tears does is nothing short of miraculous. They take on some of the most damaged and vulnerable dogs, working tirelessly—in all weathers—to show these often shut-down animals what love looks like. Together with fosterers, they help rehabilitate them and prepare them for their forever homes.

As volunteers, we receive no special treatment. We go through stringent checks just like anyone else, and only dogs who are suitable for our homes are placed with us. This rescue is run with exceptional care and integrity, and I have nothing but admiration and gratitude for everyone involved.

We have adopted our 3 dogs from many tears and have been fostering and volunteering for them for the last 6 years.
Our experience with the rescue is nothing but positive.
The staff are all friendly and supportive.
Sylvia the owner goes above and beyond to help as many dogs as she can.
The adoption process is straight forward and makes sure the right dog goes to the right adopter.
I would recommend that anyone wanted to rescue a dog, join the show around at the centre.

Amazing charity that we have supported for a number of years. I’ve stayed and volunteered for 2 weekends, adopted a beautiful bulldog and now foster. All dogs are so well cared for. A beautiful, well know dog in the community was killed by a MT Great Dane in foster - the fence was too low, the Great Dane was able to easily jump the 3ft fence and attack a dog in the street who was just walking past on her lead with her owner. It wasn’t a suitable placement at all, and MT have admitted they didn’t correctly carry out the home check. The death of both dogs could have been avoided if they did. Heart breaking.

I’m also disappointed that MT are flagging the negative reviews to trust pilot - please allow people to speak of their concerns openly so that people can make informed decisions before using or donating to this rescue.

Have my 3rd dog from them. Dogs carefully matched in a thorough application process and kennel staff who really care.

People should be aware that there is a very small hate group who have set out to spread false information and recruit people to leave negative reviews. The experience of 99.99% of their 3000 adopters a year is positive and true staff and volunteers know of the amazing care that goes into looking after these dogs. They save the lives of dogs that have no hope, like my wonderful 3, and don't deserve this small group of toxic individuals targeting them. Hopefully MT will continue to flourish and come out the other side stronger than ever.

Thank you to Many Tears. We adopted the sweetest calmest 6 year old bichon frise who has completed our family. The process was quick and simple, whilst ensuring the safety of the dogs in their forever home. If you are thinking of adopting, please think of Many Tears first.

MT is totally focused on the dogs and *their* needs. I have fostered for MT and currently have numbers 4 and 5 of the ex breeding girls I have adopted over the years from them. They all came with their own issues and fears and my heart breaks at what they must have been through. Some also developed health issues, which couldn't be known at point of adoption. But when I adopted them I took all that on. MT was very careful to match, not only with me and my lifestyle but also my dogs. Their website with the dogs isnt a shop window, you cant just 'buy' the dog you decided you like, and I am sure staff have difficult conversations with some people, but the chats I have had over the years have been nothing but professional and (to repeat myself) are always focused on the dogs needs.
Fully recommend, rescue dogs are special, and MT works so hard, and it's always for the dogs.
