Many tears animal rescue and the fosterers do an amazing job and work tirelessly to rescue and find home for so many animals in their care. Thanks to them we have two wonderful ex breeding girls who had a horrid start in life. Thank you to many tears and all the foster carers to help these animals to find their forever homes.

I have adopted a dog and a cat from Many Tears and had a great experience both times. I’m so grateful to Many Tears for bringing them into my life!
Many tears is a wonderful charity
Many tears is a wonderful charity. Among so many rescues that don’t follow proper protocols or make sure adopters are right for the dog, they are swift but very thorough. I adopted a very scared former breeding mother, and was under no illusions about the road ahead. My
Dog had been beautifully fostered for a few weeks before I met her, and the foster home was a wonderful, loving and secure place. The work Many Tears does is really important as long as there is animal cruelty around, especially puppy farms that abandon or kill breeders that are no longer of use. I’ve looked into this charity for my due diligence and they shine as a great example to others.
Bobby deserved life, Bobby deserved better
On Monday, 29 June 2025, I adopted an 8-week-old Cavalier cross from Many Tears Animal Rescue, and called him Bobby.
By Wednesday, he was unwell, and by Tuesday 8th July, Bobby was sadly no longer with us.
I was told he had a “full, clear health check" when picking him up, but he deteriorated quickly with worms, dehydration, seizures, and an open fontanelle. Bobby deserved better care and respect from those who were meant to help him prior to his adoption.
Bobby saw multiple vets duing his 8 day's with myself. Every vet, was concerned to why his open fontanelle was not been disclosed, and why he wasn't given adequate worming. They also questioned if Bobby had ever seen a vet. I only have the word of Many Tears that his health check was carried out by a qualified veterinarian. No vets name has ever been disclosed on his paper work or thereafter.
After paying over £3000 vets fees in 6 days, I desperately called the Many Tears emergency line. They promised they wouldn’t let Bobby die and offered to take over his care, which brought a huge amount of relief. Yet the following days were filled with distress, miscommunication, and decisions about Bobby’s life were made without me. Which resulted in Bobby's death.
He was put to sleep without my knowledge or permission by Many Tears Animal Rescue.
Bobby had no further treatment in their care, and was aloud to deteriorate. I twice, requested a meeting about Bobby's ongoing treatment in the 2 days Many Tears had him. Twice it was declined.
5 months later, I’m still extremely angry, heartbroken and totally devestated. After reaching out to Many Tears, I was given a catalogue of excuses to why Bobby was so badly let down, including that Sylvia the ceo was highly medicated when making this decision on Bobby's life. Shocking, just shocking.
From the moment I first walked in to this place, i was met with superiority and scepticism.
All I wanted was the best for this poor little pup. It's a shame no one else there wanted the same.
They even managed to get Bobby's name wrong for his Cremation.
He was truly let down from the moment his mum was brought in unknowingly pregnant from Ireland. Vaccinated without a healthceck, to then being born and raised in kennels with an outbreak of gardia.
This whole litter were experiencing health problems before being adopted, yet they were all adopted with a full clear health check from their on site vet.
Sadly, Bobby was not the only pup from this littler to pass away within days of being adopted. Sylvia has said, that they couldn't have known that these pups were all ill prior and during adoption, this is an outright lie.
The lies have been endless.
This practice of shipping animals from Ireland and other countries is still ongoing. The best interests of these animals are not in mind or being met.
Even if it takes me 20 years, I will make sure people are heald accountable. Please feel free to contact me if you have any information, or speakout about your experience of this place. If I had this experience, I know there's many, many other people out there.
How the staff including Sylvia, dealt with this, I can only describe as cruel, cold, self pitiful and utterly shambolic.
HAVE YOUR EYES AND EARS OPEN.
Bobby deserved life 💔
Bobby deserved better 💔
It breaks my heart reading the…
It breaks my heart reading the negative reviews here for this wonderful rescue because my experience has been nothing but positive.
There are a number of negative reviews from people who have been turned down for dogs. Or people who have lied on the application forms. Please bear this in mind. That tells me that Many Tears have robust application and vetting system and that they are putting their animals interests first.
I was turned down three times before I was able to adopt from Many Tears. All of which were for perfectly valid reasons.
Their website isn’t a shop window. You can’t just pick a dog on appearance or breed alone.
Any adoption has to be the right fit for the rescue dog and the right fit for your family. It has also to be the right match for your own dog if you are bringing another dog into your home.
Your own dog and entire family need to have a meet and greet with the rescue dog in order for any adoption to go ahead because the right choices are made by Many Tears with the rescue dog’s best interests paramount, not your ego.
I initially discovered Many Years through Dr Scott a local South West London vet who sometimes does work for ITV. He had done a Christmas video appeal for them and I started to follow their Facebook page.
One particular week they rescued 150 dogs. That was the week that I applied.
I applied for three separate dogs on the website thinking we would be lucky to have any of them and we were rejected for all three.
Some of it was down to inexperience on our part having not dealt with traumatised or shut down ex-breeding dogs before, another rejection was because the rescue was inundated with applications and so somebody else had applied before us - and the final one was due to our own dog’s needs and it was decided that that it just wasn’t a good enough fit.
This didn’t deter us in any way. If anything, it gave us more confidence that the rescue were matching the right dogs to the right people.and we figured it wasn’t our turn yet.
We were committed to rescuing the right dog and committed to trusting the process.
Later that week we applied for the 8 month old dog that we eventually were able to rescue - and a secure garden was extremely important. A lot of these dogs are a flight risk as they are terrified. Some of them have never lived outside sheds before and many have never lived in a home.
Our rescue dog from MT was eight months old. She had been found in a shed with 12 other dogs. She was absolutely filthy. Her fur was matted. She stank of urine. She was underweight for her age. She was inquisitive and friendly but also absolutely terrified. thankfully, she and our other dog got on like a house on fire and she came to all of us for a tummy rub and we were a good match.
It took 3 1/2 months of solid daily work to allow her to decompress and trust us. I spent hours with her in the garden before she would even leave the house to ever think about going for a walk.
Thankfully now she’s thriving and lying on the sofa beside me as I feel compelled to write this. She is content and safe and happy
I see a lot of criticism here about Many Tears rescuing from Ireland. The law has been changed and allows any unsold puppies to be surrendered by breeders to rescue centres. No questions asked.
That doesn’t stop unscrupulous breeders but it stops those beautiful puppies being killed with a spade to the back of the head or shot and buried on farmland.
As for the money charged for adoption of dogs from Ireland? What do you imagine it costs to feed and hundreds of dogs for months on end? Or the heating and electricity bills for constant washing of towels and bedding. Not to mention the vaccinations, spaying and surgery (often complex cases) for neglected dogs probably receiving their first ever veterinary assistance?
My own dog was in the rescue for under three weeks. The adoption fee I paid barely covered her living costs, her microchip, being spayed and having her first vaccinations.
The notion that they rescue team drive to Ireland from Wales in the middle of the night on the ferry with the mountains of complex associated paperwork post Brexit just to somehow manipulate the puppy trade for money is an appalling accusation. And not true.
I have seen nothing but love and care from this rescue and all who work and volunteer there. I have seen nothing but dedication all year round from remarkable people out there working in all weathers.
Many Tears is a rescue I’m proud to support and recommend.
Puppy farmers
The reviews on here are shocking that poor greyhound :( This is no rescue it is a business working with some of the vilest puppy farms in Ireland and making lots of money from them. They make monthly trips for more dogs but always pleading for cash with £2.6 mil in the bank. Beware you may get a very sick dog like us. Awful place avoid especially the owner
A wonderful rescue and we can't thank you enough
I am shocked by these reviews. I live in Suffolk and twice we have driven to Many Tears to adopt 2 of the most amazing and beautiful dogs. The staff were absolutely lovely and totally honest about the nervous ex breeding dogs we were adopting . The home checks were easy, one was done with a mobile phone, the communication with the office very simple and satisfactory. One of my girls was rescued from hell in Ireland, she was in a despicable condition and I can't thank MT and Sylvia who drove the van, enough for rescuing her. The other one was only 18 months old and had already had god knows how many litters , exploited by filthy greeders. My next dog will be from MT. Thank you Sylvia (hero) and all your staff, you are simply amazing. You won't always please everyone, people are so quick to criticise these days , and some of these reviews are quite frankly ridiculous, but we are so thankful to you and we adore our girls
Many Tears Rescue - an excellent rescue centre
Many tears do an excellent job in matching dogs to their forever homes.
I adopted an ex breeding female dog of 7 years of age. The vetting and home check I had was to ensure that I would be a suitable owner, as these dogs need lots of patience, love and time to decompress.
I would highly recommend them if you’re looking to rehome a dog or a cat.
Love corgi's
We have taken on two ex breeding Pembrokeshire corgi's from many tears and cannot praise them enough for what they do and continue to do.
We have had Megan for two years and Caru for one. They are now both enjoying retirement with as much love and attention we can give them.
I cannot understand the negative reviews from some, so thought I should respond with my own experience.
I understand the vetting procedure can be testing, but it needs to be for the sake of the dogs. Most have already had a bad start and now require a special ending for their final years.
We have experienced only good and caring advice from all associated with Many Tears.
I can only thank Many Tears for all they do for these poor dogs and I will always support and champion what they do.
Long may it continue, Please keep up the very difficult work you do.
Thank you
David and Fiona
In memory of Ingrid
If Zero stars were possible, that would be my rating.
MANY TEARS ANIMAL RESCUE has admitted they did NOT do a 'Home Check' before placing a GREAT DANE, one of the largest breeds of dog, on foster at a property in our village. That dog jumped over the low garden fence at the property and attacked our beautiful greyhound Ingrid as we walked past, causing her fear, pain, suffering and death.
There were MULTIPLE FAILINGS listed in their own report and 7 CHANGES IN PROCEDURE have been identified as being required, along with the gardens of ALL THEIR CURRENT FOSTER HOMES BEING REASSESSED.
We have had to fight every step of the way to get to this point. Yes they are a dog rescue and Yes they are a charity, but neither of those should be used as a shield when something so horrific and that was 100% PREVENTABLE happens. If the garden fence was higher, Ingrid would still be alive and I would not have to live with the constant flashbacks, anxiety and sleep deprivation that now dominate my life. It could have been any dog, or even a child. That day it was Ingrid. In her memory we are trying to prevent anything like this from ever happening again.
A liability investigation is now under way and the Charity Commission is also involved.
Many Tears Animal Rescue have told us to “proceed externally as you feel appropriate”. A review feels "appropriate".
This is very difficult to write but…
This is very difficult to write but here we go .
I’d like to point out this is not to hate on Many Tears Animal Rescue as many of the staff there were lovely however I feel I have to put my experience out there !!
About a month ago me and my partner went to visit many tears during one the guided tours , along with also looking to see about a job as we had seen they were advertising in which I was told that there were over 100 applications already so I shouldn’t bother as the role would be taken quickly but yet they are still advertising for the same job.
Whilst walking around viewing the dogs ( which they have over 200 of) I was instantly drawn to one of the first dogs I saw , Lola the 2 year old cockpoo , me and my partner fell in love with her 🥰, once the tour had come to an end we asked for permission to go and see Lola again ( turns out it was her first day there on show !!) we went through to her kennel and spent over an hour playing with her and falling more and more in love , we knew this was our dog and she absolutely LOVED the cuddles!!!!
We decided we wanted to adopt Lola so straight away went to the reception to ask how to go about this , we were aware that due to us being 18 we would have to have a person over 25 to agree the adoption at some point but were told it wouldn’t have to be at the moment. We were told that due to Lola being new in she was not up on the website as of yet so we had to apply for a different dog and state in the description that it was for Lola , so we instantly went to the car and applied!!!
The next day we went up at 1pm and spent hours with Lola getting to know her , taking her outside to play and learning about what she knows and doesn’t, whilst doing this many staff members continued telling us how happy they were for us , how much Lola loves us and how excited they were for us to adopt this sweet girl.
Unfortunately the following day we couldn’t visit Lola due to having work however we did get an email that day stating “ thank you so much for your application to adopt Lola !!! Before we can proceed we just need a few more details about the hours worked by the people over 25 in the household “
Me and my partner were SO excited as reading this meant that we had a MASSIVE chance to adopt her and we felt that the way this was worded meant that they were going to approve our application however just need a few more details, so yet again we instantly emailed back to ensure we didn’t waste any time
Later that day we realised Lola was no longer available and we were extremely confused, we rang many tears instantly and were told she had been reserved by someone else , we were beyond devastated, we had built a huge connection with this dog over the past few days and had so much positivity from staff the confusion was ridiculous.
The next day we went to many tears ( bear in mind we had arranged to come up that Saturday anyway to take Lola for a walk ) we thought that it must have been a mistake, however this was not the case we found out we had been lied to and that due to being 18 we were unable to apply for a dog at all and that we were told this (which we were not and the website also stated you have to be 25 for very nervous ex breeding dogs which Lola was not ) we were also told that the hours on which the people over 25 worked meant Lola would be home on her own for to long however we stated in the email that there would ALWAYS be someone over the aged of 18 at home with Lola
So no we didn’t get our dog , we had been lied to , fed false information, given false hope , and built a bond with a dog they knew we couldn’t have . If anyone under 25 thinks of adopting from here I wouldn’t bother as they will only lead u on ( I was the one holding Lola in her picture for the website )
Saying this we hope Lola is enjoying her knew home and is loved just as much as we loved her because she deserves a happy home
Amazing …
I really can’t understand the negative reviews from start to finish many tears have been amazing.
We adopted an Airedale that had clearly had a horrible start in life.Sylvia and her team could not have loved and cared for Dolly better. Sylvia, kept us informed on all the way through with daily updates.
The bonus is we have the most amazing dog. After many years of having dogs I would only rescue now.
Many tears are the most loving caring dogs home and would recommend to anyone if there looking for a new family member. Highly recommend

Would mark as zero if I could if your looking to adopt do not touch these we stated we wanted a small dog when we picked dog up just wanted the £425 and get contract done now ended up with a wolf in the house destroying furniture and all they say is bring him back we live in Kent do your homework if looking to adopt look locally as this company only after money not the welfare of the dogs they don’t help in anyway one of the woman said let the dog in your bedroom which is just ridiculous honestly worst exsperience of our life
Rehoming experience
After application went through and home check was passed as all okay we made our way to Carmarthen to pick up a lovely dog who needed a home. Unfortunately due to miscommunication from staff we were refused and told she was not allowed to go with us reason given was she'd need to go to a home with another dog there. I really wish I'd known this beforehand as we left there upset at leaving her there. I would advise that even though you are given a timeline in which to collect a dog check and double check speak to manager to confirm adoption rehoming can go ahead. The 3stars are for the friendly communication with homecheck. I agree the dogs welfare comes first and am glad to find she has since found her new forever home but please check all okay before travelling there.

We rescued an ex breeder dog about 12 weeks ago from Many Tears. Our dog is nearly 5yr old and had never been in a home before. We travelled to MT and did a meet and greet with her. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly and answered any questions we had. We had a few issues with our girl not eating or drinking enough, but having talked to one of their behaviourist the issues have improved. They all do a fantastic job.
Exceptional dog rescue.
I have a wonderful little Romanian dog from Many Tears. It is an outstanding rescue.Staff are committed to finding the right homes for the dogs in their care. Many dogs are ex- breeders from puppy farms. The kennels are always clean and staff know the dogs in their care individually.
100% Genuine & recommended
Excellent rescue run by passionate informed people who carefully match potential adopters to animals. Couldn’t imagine a better more professional organisation 🥰
We applied to adopt a 1yr old Spaniel…
We applied to adopt a 1yr old Spaniel last week. We have 2 ourselves & 2 cats who all get on fine. There is the odd time the dogs will run after the cats but never, ever hurt them. We are an active, retired couple & spend time walking, camping & using our camper in the Lakes. This Spaniel has never lived in a home & failed the cat test. How has she failed a cat test if she’s never lived in a home. Our cats were here before the dogs. I was told on 2 occasions, ‘no’, she cannot be rehomed with cats. Let us give her a chance. I’m brokenhearted for her.
Prepare for heartbreak!
Whilst undoubtedly Many Tears do some incredible work with rescues, and all credit to staff in the yard working day to day.
Unfortunately, they are represented by power hungry staff in the office. Staff who would rather keep a dog in the kennels than let them leave to a loving home. Staff that move the goalposts re: home checks, in terms of expectations. Staff that, rather than work with you on solutions, would rather give a computer says no answer. Unfortunately, it seems the adoption system is flawed with a lack of common sense.
Many Tears are dead against breeders, but would rather force you down that route than work with prospective adopters. They operate on pre-conceived ideas and misconceptions, with a complete lack of flexibility to do physical home checks - I guess its easier to say no behind a phone!
This rescue treats people terribly
This rescue treats people terribly, does not look after its animals and re homes unwell dogs to people. STAY AWAY.
