Wow what an unbeatable deal and…

Wow what an unbeatable deal and service. Seb, Harry and all of the Octopus team who have guided us through our EV lease journey have been outstanding, patient and kind.
We are "Baby Boomers" who never thought we would go for an EV.
Octopus have offered a complete service from unbeatable lease deal to free charger fitting, new smart meters and outstanding energy tariffs but they have also guided us through every step and are still here to support us.
The car looks fantastic {Omoda 5} the charger super cool {Hypervolt} and with Seb, Harry and the Octopus team at the end of the phone or email to guide us we are set up.....100% recommend.

A Stellar Experience

My experience with Octopus Electric Vehicles has been nothing but exemplary/outstanding. Jack has been helpful in the extreme. Making the experience to-date nothing less than stellar. Thank you, Jack, for all that you have done thus far.

Endless troubles with EV and charger order

Endless troubles since I first ordered an EV last summer, now culminating in not being able to get a date for having a charger fitted

As a brief summary of our issues:
- ordered a car on salary sacrifice. The supposedly brand new vehicle was delivered filthy, with a scratched windscreen, dents and scratches on the boot and a door that wouldnt close. I refused delivery but the lease company lied about the issues claiming the windscreen was ‘glue’ (it was actually damage from someone using a metal scraper to remove a sticker) and everything else was fine. After multiple calls and emails and getting my company involved, it was finally escalated to a manager to sort months later.

- we then waited months for delivery of another new car, with the date constantly delayed. Eventually we cancelled this as a better deal came up

- signed up for a new car which’s arrived promptly and in good condition other than a scratch on the interior which we reported and general dirt on the inside where it had been driven, as well as not having much charge as the chargers the driver was allowed to use were apparently all broken. To be fair, octopus issued some public charge credit to cover this though neither they nor the lease company did anything about the dirt

- we then move onto a new problem - the charger install. This was ordered in January. Once the car is delivered Octopus then start looking into the logistics of the install, the first stage of which is to check with the national grid that your home is suitable for a charger. Quite why they can’t do this before you take deliver of a vehicle, I don’t know - I wouldn’t want an EV if I can’t charge it at home.

Anyway the process for this involves supplying pictures of your meter and fuse board and the national grid fuse. I lost count of how many pictures I’ve supplied and how long it took for octopus and the national grid to confirm it was ok, but after weeks and weeks of back and forth eventually the national grid decided they needed a new fuse. With that date confirmed I was able to book the charger install for the following week

- national grid attended and were all sorted in an hour or so, on time and really quick

- the next week the octopus engineer attended and we sorted where everything would go, how the cable would run, checked the earthing etc. all seems fine. Until he checked the meter. Which, it turns out, isn’t suitable for an EV charger. I had asked repeatedly if a smart meter was needed or if it could be done at the same time, but that could only happen if we switched to octopus as a supplier first and they are more expensive than our current tariff. It only works better if you have IOG, but you need a smart meter and charger for that to work so no benefit in switching first. Regardless, I was told the meter switch could be done at a later date.

They also had probably 20 pictures of my meter and hadn’t bothered to check if what we had was suitable.

The engineer left, unable to complete the work, and I have contacted them to ask to rearrange the install but they are now ignoring my messages. I’ve requested that they come back the day we are getting our supplier to fit a smart meter, but no response.

As things stand we are looking at over three months for a charger install from the date of order. They advertise an average wait time of 6 weeks

Despite their adverts online and on the radio etc advertising their Amazon customer service, I’ve had nothing but trouble getting anything sorted. Admittedly they are polite and friendly, but that hasn’t helped solve any of my issues.

I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone

Great delivery experience, but hit a wall with the admin/private plate process

I had some initial nerves during the process, but now that everything is finalised including our private plate transfer I am really pleased with the overall service from Octopus Electric Vehicles.

The Standout: Speed & Delivery
The real highlight of the experience was the delivery. While the online tracker estimated a two-month wait, the car actually arrived within two weeks. Getting the car six weeks early was a fantastic surprise. The car itself is lovely, and the team followed up with a personal phone call shortly after delivery to ensure we were happy, which was a great touch.

The Resolution: Private Plate Assignment
We did encounter a bit of a bottleneck regarding the private registration plate assignment. It took a little longer than expected due to a backlog, which was a bit stressful with a holiday fast approaching. However, I’m pleased to say the team has now successfully completed the transfer.

While the admin side took a moment to catch up with the lightning-fast delivery of the car, the end result is exactly what we wanted. We can now head off on our travels with the insurance updated and the car looking exactly how we intended!

Pros:
• Incredible Turnaround: Car arrived 6 weeks ahead of schedule.
• Great Communication: Kept well-informed during the delivery phase with a lovely follow-up.
• Resolution: Private plate transfer is now complete and ready for our trip.
Cons:
• Initial application and plate admin took a little longer than the instantaneous DVLA speed we were used to, but the team got it over the line in the end.

Final Verdict: A sleek car and a proactive team. Now that the paperwork is settled, I’m a very happy customer!

Finn was great to deal with, he kept me fully up to date on what and when to expect delivery of our Approved Used car. He also made sure to follow up with me after the car was delivered and has informed me I can contact him again if I have further questions

Amazing service from start to finish

Amazing service from start to finish. Ben helped me select a car suited to my needs and what I could afford, Kiki was fantastic at helping with all my queries along the way, the lady (sorry I didn't get the name) at the car garage was brilliant at processing my order and finally the delivery man was really friendly and helpful. Overall, super speedy process and very helpful service. I can't thank you all enough!

Great service

The service and support offered from Jack @ Octopus EV's, from placing the order for my approved used e-208 through to post delivery check in, has been amazing. He has always been quick to answer any questions and did a great job of keeping me informed of progress.

The process as a whole using Octopus EV has been effortless.

Terrible customer service i ordered a…

Terrible customer service i ordered a charging point installation for my vehicle paid £974.00 and didn't receive any email or acknowledgement of payment, when I rang up to find out why and what was happening next I received zero help . They just kept passing me to different people and telling me to ring a certain number but this number was the actual number I was on . 2 days on and I still haven't received any contact and or email so haven't a clue what is going on with my order . Never had to write a bad review before but these are hands down the worst customer service ive dealt with

Excellent customer service

I have been very happy with Octopus EV from the start, since choosing a vehicle and having it delivered I have had a very positive experience. I have had to use customer service for the first time due to an issue with the vehicle, the help and support I have received from Barbara has been second to none. Always with prompt and friendly communication Barbara sorted my issue enabling me to get back on the road swiftly. Thank you!
