Poor quality

Bought a jacket from here 6 months ago. Not worn much but within a month lining ripped and after a few more months the zip on the front and the pocket just fell apart. Shame because it looked nice but such poor quality I wouldn’t buy from there again

Sweatshop clothing

Like a previous reviewer mentioned, clothing is made in a Chinese sweatshop and is inferior quality compared to other brands available for a similar or lower price. Woman in shop was rude and grumpy. Avoid!

We do not have any clothes made in sweatshops as this would go against the core values of our business. We are not sure where you are getting this incorrect information from but we feel it is highly unjustifiable to make up such allegations.

Not made in the UK

Thought we were buying s garment with "british nautical heritage" only to get it home and find it was made in China.

Hello and thank you for your feedback. All of our clothes are designed in house at our head office using highly experienced designers who understand British nautical heritage clothing. Some elements of our clothes are made in hand selected manufacturers based overseas but that is only because of the specialist machinery and equipment needed to produce some of our garments. We tend to use the best people to do the job regardless of where they are based on the globe.

Zip hoodie started to fall to pieces

Zip hoodie started to fall to pieces after wearing a few times. Cotton started to unravel in more than one place.

Don't buy their products if you want decent aftersales service.

Customer service representative was aggressive and unpleasant.

Won't buy from them again.

Great Customer Service

I just wanted to say a great big thank you to Alice in Customer Service who was kind enough to help me process my order this morning. She went out of her way to ensure that everything was OK.

I love Quba clothing and will definitely recommend your company to family and friends.

It is uplifting to be able to speak to a human being on the phone! and especially to someone who was so helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you so much Alice. I know who to come to if I have a problem in the future.

First came across this company whilst…

First came across this company whilst visiting Rhosneigr a few years back and have been obsessed ever since. 80% of my wardrobe is now Quba based as the quality of T-shirts is unbeatable. Recently treated myself and the wife to the X10 sailing jackets.

Bought an x series waterproof jacket

Bought an x series waterproof jacket , wore the coat two to three times , the zip is unpredictable and the hood leaked onto under clothing , told by so called customer services that they only guarantee their products for six months 😀😀😀 absolutely pitiful , no wonder there are sales every few weeks as these clothes are not fit for purpose. Just over priced catalogue clothing that would only rival Primark as a retail outlet… customer services are not bothered either so don’t waste your money….BEWARE!!!

Poor Quality Finish

I ordered 3 items about 6 months ago and whilst two are great the Hedley X Series hoodie has been a major let down.

As I’m now WFH the hoodie has hardly been worn so probably washed about 4 times and now one of the numbers is hanging off! Whilst the quality of the hoodie itself is as actually quite good it can’t be worn in public!

My wife has a jumper we bought Quba many years ago and it’s still in great condition so clearly the quality has dropped. It’s a shame as their styles are a little bit different but we won’t be buying again. I’ll stick to Hager Vor for my sweatshirts or hoodies!

EDIT: Just a quick edit to say that in Oct 23 Quba have emailed to say they don’t know why my issue wasn’t dealt with at the time and they have sent out a new hoody so fair plays to them. Maybe I will give them another go after all.

I wish I had product read reviews before buying

I recently received a medium size ‘Billy’ barrel bag after a six month wait. I really wish I had read Quba customer reviews beforehand. It looks nice on the website but the quality doesn’t match up at all to the image. It feels cheap. The ‘signature’ large zip is virtually immovable, I will have to be very careful not to jam it or damage the surrounding stitching. The zip is also twisted at each end and folded inside the bag so it doesn’t actually close at either end. I give it half a dozen trips, maximum, before I’m making repairs. The website also shows a mobile phone poking out of the interior pocket. I thought that was just to represent the fact that it stores things. No: the reason it’s sticking out is that a mobile phone doesn’t fit. Why not make the pocket an inch wider? Or a foot? What’s it supposed to store? Baffling. And, oh yes, it’s made in China. Best of British.

Got soaked in a £200 coat

I spent £200 on an X-10 jacket that was branded as being “perfect for coastal adventures” and sold as a “technical sailing jacket”. This coat has been on a handful of dog walks and the first time
It was properly rained on, I was soaked through to my skin (literally - I needed a towel to dry my skin once I was home). I complained to Quba through their customer services online who did everything in their power to find reasons to not find fault with their product and either blame me for washing it badly (which I didn’t) or say that although their jackets are fully tested to UK waterproofing standards before leaving their factory, the waterproof coating can become less effective. This is not what I expected from such an expensive jacket that reports to be good for sailing and coastal adventures and had hardly been tested by the UK weather! Other brands are highly superior and I will be avoiding Quba for the rest of my life. Sub-standard product and a customer service that is more interested in what rules there are rather than helping their customer base and understanding that their product does not match the quality expected of a £200 coat.

Disdainful customer service

Long term customer of Quba. Bought an X-series jacket. Zip failed within a year. This is not a cheap jacket and had not been misused. Quba advice was to contact as seamstress to have it fixed professionally. I think Quba have a way to go to match the quality and customer service of manufacturers with whom they aspire to compete. I will of course avoid in future.

Appalling customer service when a problem occurs bought a jacket shop…

My husband bought a jacket when shop reopened after 1st lockdown closure
As a heatwave last year little used this year light use however the welding around the zip has ‘failed’ making it impossible to close the jacket despite the zip not being broken, therefore manufacturing fault, so returned to shop where assistant said she had never seen a fault like it but could f help and said to email or use ‘contact us’ it took 4 emails and contact us before we got a reply or should I say ‘fob off’ by then had returned to shop Hopi g that they could send it to their head office for inspection, that is all I had been requesting for the jacket to be inspected and an explanation for the failing however have been continually told 6 months return policy despite my query I g is that how long one of their expensive jackets to last? Should they not be concerned when this sort of problem is reported by a customer ?
The last communication told me to take my jacket to a seamstress and see if I can get it repaired ! I just want them to explain why this has happened and get the jacket repaired !!
I have asked for names/contact details of superiors but surprise surprise not been forthcoming
I will never buy another thing from the company and although this may not bother them and I have previously purchased 5 other jackets and numerous other items if the treat everyone who has a complaint with such poor customer service it may start to matter to them

Point I made regards your customer service has been totally confirmed by Quba as this response to my review has been made 2 YEARS after my review, see date!!! Shocking

Disappointing

My original review is below:
Almost 2 years (!!!!) after my review I received a reply to say glad we sorted out - it as never sorted out!
This crazy response simply reinforces my disappointment sadly.

Ordered a jacket as I don't have a store near me.
Have liked their goods before however the coat was not as nice as website suggested and was a very odd fit around the bottom.
So cost me £3.95 for delilvery then £4.85 to return, so £8.80 to try on a poor coat!
Not my fault they have no shops near me and returns process awful.
Sadly I won't be buying from them again.

Great Customer Service

Bought a hoodie in the sales at the Padstow shop and there was a fault with the metal eyelet after wearing a few times. Contacted the customer service (Janet) and couldn’t do enough to resolve the problem. Tracked down my transaction as I didn’t have the receipt and swiftly sorted out a replacement. Brilliant shop in Padstow and amazing customer service. Will definitely be buying from them again. Great clothing.

Love this clothing…

After loving the design of the Quba x10 jackets, I went to Quba Sails in Wimborne Dorset with a friend. The girl in the shop was absolutely lovely and we had an amazing shopping experience, buying quite a lot of items between us.
Following day ordered a further item online which was easy, which arrived two days later. Thrilled with all my purchases and feel amazing wearing them.
I've washed various items since including my x10 jacket according to the instructions and they've all come out looking as good as new.

If I could give zero stars I would

If I could give zero stars I would. I have just washed my puffa jacket with washing instructions of 30 deg wash and the filling has balled up making the jacket useless.
My advice would be don’t buy this product. This is not the first time that washing guidance has ruined clothes, a Sweatshirt washed on a cold wash not the 30deg guide temperature shrunk first wash. The
