Bought a Renault Clio Hybrid with 2 years manufacturer warranty remaining. serviced it with main dealer to keep this warranty valid. in the 4 months I've owned the car its been back to Renault for 3 recalls. the gearbox oil seal. gearbox primary shaft seal. and charge flap. on all visits the service has been slow and they have always had to keep the car days longer than expected. there health checks always find something additional wrong with your car. there communication is poor. staff more interested in upselling tyres than actually informing you of what's wrong with your car that doesn't cost money and getting you back on the road. Car needed ECU re programming after they serviced it and its been nothing but problems since. latest visit it was dropped off on a Tuesday and told very firmly i needed it back for Friday morning the best they can do is Friday evening. what's the point in having a car that lets you down when you need it and having to get the bus to work ? nice car when its working but based on service from Renault main dealer once the finance is paid off its gone and ill never have another certainly wouldn't trust it enough to keep once the warranty runs out . i feel heartily sorry for anyone with a newer Clio hybrid that doesn't have the 5yr warranty if the car is so much trouble and your paying for these constant repairs :-(

Had a brilliant experience with Teek at Renault Bolton, we ended up buying an almost new, top spec, Dacia Duster and are very very happy with it. Teek provided absolutely first class customer service through the process, and made the whole experience a positive one. I wouldn't hesitate to go back to the Bolton dealership in the future when next looking for a new car.

Bought a RenaultCaptur e-hybrid 24 plate from Renault Stirling 9 months ago still under warranty.I called this morning saying spanner light on with check gearbox warning, was told diagnostics were full until January (not a good sign)told to try any other uk Renault garage in uk - asked if it was still ok to drive and was told they can’t say that as they haven’t seen my car! She did say if the light comes on and stays on Renault assist could help but if light isn’t on permanent they wouldn’t. Am I supposed to book my car in for January and do without

This is a complaint for the Swansea branch. I am a single mother who purchased my vehicle from the Swansea branch July 2025.
1) My car would not start Weds 19th November at 8am and had the engine failure light on. I called Renault who told me to call RAC. RAC did not come out to me until 4:20pm. I was stuck in the house all day and had to arrange lifts to school for my 9 year old.
2) RAC did software checks on my car and said I needed to get it booked in with Renault Swansea. I called Renault Swansea who told me earliest I could be booked in with a courtesy car would be 12th of January 2026 which is ridiculous due to the errors on the software showing.
3) I tried to start my car Thursday 20th November and it wouldn’t start again. Called RAC and Renault Swansea. RAC towed my car to Renault. I had to arrange lifts for my child to school again.
4) Renault confirmed my car had got to the garage and someone would call me back but I waited in the house all day Thursday and no call back.
5) I am disgusted in the customer service with Renault Swansea and will not be purchasing another vehicle from them. As a single Mam with no other vehicle, to be left for 2 days due to fault in my recently purchased vehicle is awful!
6) Wasting 2 days of annual leave, being promised call back which did not happen and being without any help of a car is terrible service.

Whilst Renault cars are enjoyable cars to drive, the problem comes when you discover that your new car comes with a fault, one that seems to be an underlying fault on all Austral models. The dealership acknowledges the fault but cannot solve it even with the support of the Renault Multimedia team, and as a consequence my car now has an additional 400 miles on the clock as a result of visits to my nearest dealership over the last year and has been off the road for two weeks in total. (No apology or compensation offered for depreciation or my time)
I have been a loyal Renault customer over the last 30 years but having discovered that both Renault customer service and technical support are next to useless. I would suggest prospective buyers of Renault cars, take this into account before parting with their hard earned cash, I certainly will, and as a result will not be buying another Renault

Had major faults with a less than 1 month old Renault which has been under repairs now for greater than 4 months and is still on-going. Supplied with a courtesy car but it is not on a 'like-for-like' basis and surprisingly not even a Renault. Renault doesn't have their own vehicles available to be used...
Awful experience and even worse once you consider the age of the vehicle. DO NOT BY A NEW CAR FROM RENAULT!

I went to book a service through the website for my Scenic, put all my details in as requested and booked my slot.
A day later I got an email from the designated garage, thinking it was just a confirmation I didn't read it.
Turned up on the day to be told you haven't got a booking.
I was told in the email to ring and give all my details, the very details I had put on the Renault service booking webpage. It appears that the service department cannot see all the details that you put on the webpage.
What's that all about.
Further more when you contact them through WhatsApp they don't bother to return your concerns.
They are definitely French.

Car bought from Renault Swansea via their finance. The finance agreement listed the wrong mileage, significantly less than the actual mileage on the car. Renault Swansea and in particular the branch manager there have been appalling. Failed to resolve the issue and just ignoring calls and emails for weeks. Now preparing a complaint to the financial services ombudsman and about to lodge a legal claim. All we wanted was the correct paperwork. My original trustpilot review named the branch manager. Renault very quickly complained to trustpilot about that (I’ve now removed the name) while still not responding to my review on here or making any attempt to address the complaint privately. I think that tells you all you need to know about Renault UK and the contempt they show to their customers

I’ve been a loyal Renault customer, having purchased two new vehicles in the past five months—a Clio Alpine and an R5. Sadly, less than 48 hours after collecting the R5, it was struck by a truck. While the damage was largely cosmetic and not Renault’s fault, the real issue began with the parts required for repair.
Five weeks have passed since those parts were ordered, and the car remains off the road. It’s deeply concerning that a manufacturer actively producing vehicles cannot—or seemingly chooses not to—maintain a responsive parts supply chain. I raised the matter with Renault UK, and it was escalated to “Exec Complaint” status. Yet, despite this, I’ve seen no meaningful progress.
Renault’s responses have been polite and empathetic, but ultimately ineffective. There’s a sense of resignation, as if they’re powerless in the face of their own supply chain failures. And I’m clearly not alone—many other customers appear to be facing similar delays and frustrations.
What I don’t need is another generic reply acknowledging my case and promising to pass my comments to a case manager. What I do expect—reasonably—is a clear, committed update on when the parts will arrive and when my car will be roadworthy again.
It’s a real shame. Renault makes great cars, but right now, if someone asked me whether they should buy one, I’d have to say: absolutely not.

Ongoing vehicle faults ignored and poor customer service from Renault UK
I purchased a new Renault Trafic Crew Van through Arnold Clark Inverness in March 2023, and from the early months of ownership I’ve experienced repeated, unresolved faults — brake system warnings, electrical issues, and infotainment failures.
The vehicle has been back to Renault-approved workshops multiple times, including a final repair attempt under their guidance. Despite this, the same faults continue to occur. Renault UK were notified formally in writing and through their own customer service process, but rather than resolving the issue, my case was eventually closed without my consent, even though the problems remain.
The lack of accountability between Renault UK, Arnold Clark, and Mobilize Financial Services has been incredibly frustrating. Each blames the other, and as a customer, I’m left stuck with a van that’s unreliable and unsafe, despite being within warranty.
Renault’s handling of this situation has been nothing short of disappointing and unprofessional. I would strongly advise anyone considering a Renault commercial vehicle to do thorough research before purchasing — the aftersales support is, in my experience, non-existent.

I have an 2024 e-tech Megan . The parking rear light has broken. I cannot get it checked until 3.5 weeks time under warranty. Meanwhile the rear window is very small and tinted so it’s actually not that safe to reverse in the dark. How can they have such poor availability for after sales support?

After returning my faulty semi hybrid Arkana last year following abysmal customer service! I requested Renault delete ALL my personal data although last month they emailed & texted me to confirm said data had recently been stolen! I am still awaiting even a courtesy response to my email via customer services/ head office!
NOTICE HOW THE GENERIC RESPONSE THEY GIVE WILL ONLY ECHO THIER PAST FAILURES⁉️ How can the data I already asked be deleted come up stolen over a year afterwards⁉️ Then they offer to delete it AGAIN when I questioned this⁉️🤡’s

0 stars. I raised a formal complaint some time ago, I've phoned multiple times, spent multiple hours on the phone. Twice now I've been told you will call me back and you haven't. I've just sat on hold for another 20minutes waiting for you to answer the phone and you haven't. I am looking into multiple routes to trying to mobilise you into action and actually provide me a resolution

Do not buy a Renault car if you are reliant on decent after sales customer service. We bought our daughter a second hand Clio in April 2025 to get to school and work. The car is a 2020 model with low miles. It broke down suddenly yesterday, a 30 minute drive from our house. We were told by the dealership on the day of purchase that we had roadside assistance and a manufacturer’s warranty that would expire in Nov 2025. Well, apparently now, there is no evidence of roadside assistance in anyone’s system; the manuf. warranty was noted, but is difficult to have actioned- see comments below re: lack of availability. I spent 3 hours this morning calling Renault dealerships and RAC (have a service agreement with Renault). Everyone I spoke to told me a different story regarding the coverage. Three dealerships near me said that even if I paid myself to get the car towed to them, they wouldn’t take it as they have no availability for ‘recoveries’ for the foreseeable future. I was told that I would have to pay to have the car taken either 40 minutes or 1.5 hours away depending on availability at those service centres! Another nuisance/ limitation is that some Renault service centres cannot service hybrid cars. One customer service person told me she was ending my phone call with her because she didn’t like the fact that I told her that Renault’s customer service is terrible (ok, I did say the customer service sucks tbf) and what’s the point in buying their cars & a warranty if they can’t provide the services to maintain them. I haven’t had a company threaten to hang up on me in recent memory. I eventually decided to call RAC roadside assistance- apparently the battery was ‘old’- lifetime on it is usually about 3 years, the car is 5 years old… Paid to have RAC replace the battery on the spot as couldn’t have it sitting in a garage for ages. Apparently, servicing is a major issue with Renault aftersales- not enough mechanics, access to spare parts & perhaps focusing too much on easy money MOT’s and scheduled servicing. Annoyed that we didn’t check Trustpilot reviews of the company- we focused too much on the car itself, not the aftercare. Have owned various car brands in the past and have never encountered such a hassle to get a car repaired.

On 3rd October I was notified by Renault UK that some of my personal data had been stolen due to a cyber-attack against one of their third party providers. The same day I made a subject access request (SAR) to Renault UK's data protection office to find out more. Since then, not even the courtesy of an acknowledgment. So, Renault UK, you have until 3rd November to respond to my SAR or I'll pass the matter to the ICO for investigation.
RESPONSE TO RENAULT'S REPLY - I posted this review precisely because your data protection office hasn't bothered to get in touch!

Terrible after service and the PCP is a con. Bought a Renault Zoe in August 2022. In March 2025 it broke down and was towed to Hendy Renault in Bournemouth for a warranty repair. After 3 months i was told that the required spare part would take another 3 months to arrive. I asked to end the PCP contract and hand the car back. Mobilize (the Renault finance company) agreed, yet 4 months later they still have not terminated the agreement despite repeated requests, and now they are claiming I owe them payments for a car I didnt have and could have used if I had. They are putting default entries on my credit file to bully me into paying. Avoid at all costs

I took out a 6 year extended warranty with Renault UK.
Dec 22, cut a very long story short, they lost all details and the vehicle was stuck in a Renault workshop for months. Eventually the warranty magically appeared. Had to go the route of threatening legal to have the cost of the hire vehicle reimbursed. Wind the clock forward nearly three years and Renault six year extended warranty has magically gone to a three year warranty according to the Renault dealership. The Renault portal will not accept the log in. Honestly buyer beware regarding Renault .

If you are unlucky enough to buy a new Renault Car, hope you do not have any mechanical issues which require parts - if so you have had it. Renault are selling brand new cars in the UK knowing that they do not have parts available anywhere in Europe to fix any faults. My one year old Austral went in for a routine Service in June this year which found a broken Track Rod End. No problem Renault said - this will be fixed under warranty. Fast Forward 4 months and they still have not been able to source a part to fix it. Interestingly enough, they are still selling these cars Brand New in the UK fitted with the same Track Rod Ends. Go Figure. Save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere.

Renault promise exceptional customer service but I can find no evidence from my experience to support that.
I bought a new Scenic on 11th September and the app wasn’t working or identifying my car. I raised this with Customer Services on the 12th and the issue is yet to be resolved. It has been escalated to the Technical Team but there is no timescale for a response. A complaint has been raised but there is nothing to indicate how that impacts positively on the process. I asked for a copy of the complaints procedure and was told there wasn’t one.
I would like to know how Renault keeps its customer promise or is it meaningless?
We have an order in for. Renault 5 but we are doubting whether we will proceed given our recent and unresolved complaint
