Getting ingored for warranty service unusable backpack

In 2021 I bought a bike parker pack from Timbuk2. March 2026 the zipper broke on the backpack. I contacted timbuk2 to see if it was possible to repair the backpack. I bought the backpack on the promise that it could be repaired if it broke years later.

I tried contacting timbuk2 through multiple way to get them to repair the backpack. They are not responding to me in any way. I am being left ignored and with a unusable backpack.

Currently on may 2026 I still have not received any response about warranty or repair or anything. They are ignoring me.

The backpack was nice but the warranty service is horrible.

High quality custom bag, great value

Super high quality backpack with custom colors. Arrived earlier than expected and looks great. I've traveled with it a few times now and it still looks like new. All bags of this type are expensive, but this one feels actually worth it.

I love my Timbuk2 tote

I love my Timbuk2 tote and was sad to think I had to toss it when the waterproof liner deteriorated after a decade of hard use. I contacted Timbuk2 and they repaired my bag for a minimal cost. Yay! Great service.

The website said the bag would arrive in 4 to 5 days. 7 days later I was notified it had shipped. Unacceptable.

Custom top quality bag shipped fast!

I love Timbuk2 bags and I've been using them for over 30 years. This is my 4th. I ordered a custom colored bag and it was made and shipped in under a week. I'm also impressed with the upgrades they have made to the materials and hardware!

Disappointing experience with Timbuk2’s lifetime warranty

Timbuk2 advertises a “lifetime warranty,” but my experience suggests the promise has significant limitations in practice.
Under normal daily use my bag suffered what I considered to be serious material degradation affecting core structural components, yet the issue was classified as ordinary “wear and tear.” At the same time, Timbuk2 stated that the repair would require replacement of the liner, binding, and an entire panel of the bag.
Despite the extent of the damage, I was still asked to pay repair costs and expensive international shipping.
Customer service remained polite throughout the process, but the outcome was deeply disappointing and did not match my expectations of a lifetime warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship.
International customers especially should carefully consider the potential repair and shipping costs before relying on the advertised warranty policy.

Our lifetime warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship, while damage from regular wear and tear may not qualify depending on the condition of the bag and the repairs needed.

Customers are responsible for shipping bags to our repair facility, and we help cover return shipping costs whenever possible. We understand international shipping can be expensive and appreciate your feedback regarding the overall experience.

Great for a college student

I bought this backpack for my son who is a new college student. He likes the backpack and his laptop fits perfectly inside. He also has room inside for everything else he needs for school. Ordering was easy, we received the backpack pretty quickly. The backpack is of good quality.

So i have not rec’d my new bag yet

So i have not rec’d my new bag yet. This review is only regarding the ordering experience. I had no idea that you could custom order a bag. The hardest part was picking out the colors LOL. It costs a bit more but I am very pleased so far with my choice. I cannot wait to see it in person. Not cheap but I suspect given Timbuk2s reputation I suspect I’ll have this bag forever. I paid extra for the padded accessory since I’ll be using this for water bottles and chargers and whatever. We love to take the train and ferry to S.F. and this will be our bag for cosplaying tourists.

Great bag, disappointing customer service

I really like the bag, and after a couple of years of use two of its clips broke. I contacted customer service and they kindly offered to send replacement clips, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, after three months and around six back-and-forth emails, I still haven’t received them. It’s a real shame, because otherwise I’ve been very happy with the bag.
