Very helpful staff in Upminster

We visited our local boots store in Congleton on 21st April 2026. On arrival we were greeted by two ladies stood on reception in a friendly and professional manner, top marks! A staff member named Jodie dealt with our enquiries regarding looking at the range of glasses on offer. She explained the options available to us in such a calm, friendly and professional way. Her product knowledge and customer service truly shined. She was a star! Gladly, her manager was there too, so I passed on my feedback to him. Well Done to Boots Congleton, keep at it!

Poor communication, changed appointment times, felt like they were just after more money and not interested in doing the right thing. Staff were all polite and professional but feel like I've been messed about and fobbed off again.
I initially went in to the branch to see if I could get some new lenses in some old sunglasses. It was going to be nearly as much as new glasses so decided to purchase new glasses instead. While I was there I mentioned having issues with my right eye, I suffer from dry eyes but this was beyond the usual symptoms. I spoke to the optometrist and agreed I should come for an eye health check through PEARS scheme. When he left I made the appointment with the optician who was dealing with my new glasses, I said I'll carry on with my dry eye treatment and come back for my appointment when I pick my new glasses up in approx 10 days. I received email/SMS confirmation.
Turned up on time but was told the appointment was 30min later than original booking. I couldn't stay due to parking issues so agreed to come back the next day.
When I got home I checked my emails and realised that, what I thought were appointment reminders, were a further 2 emails changing the appointment time from 3.10pm then 3.20pm and then 3.40pm. These were received on the day before the appointment (Sunday) and labelled 'Booking Confirmation' so I didn't check the details.
When I turned up the next day I was told I'd have to pay for eye test as the issues were not urgent as went beyond 4 weeks of symptoms. I was then told I should have been seen within 3 day to qualify for the scheme ?! At no point had I been told this during the previous conversations.
Also, the new glasses have so much glare from lights I can't wear them indoors. I mentioned I wanted these mainly for driving and paid extra for reaction lenses but I assumed they could be worn anytime. Extra £50 if I want some other coating.
This isn't the first time I've had issues with the branch in Huddersfield and starting to feel like they have issues with me for daring to complain previously. Very disappointed and won't be going back.

The service was consistently excellent and provided with a friendly attitude. All the staff members—Alzcola, Rafaqat, and Stephen—made me feel truly welcomed.

The service was absolutely terrible.
They lost my glasses when sent away for new lenses,and then tried to give someone else’s glasses because they had my name on them the is the second problem we have had with this store in Clapham.

Went for my eye test at the Weymouth branch.. the the man that did my test was absolutely brilliant his name was absalom.. told me everything I needed to know.. and to all the staff in the shop marcelle and pinnie was kind and courteous. and the man called grant he seen to my new glasses he’s just amazing. Tried some good glasses on helped me pick them what suits me what didn’t. All I can say is a had a wonderful time going there.. just waiting on the new glasses coming.. Eye test and ordering my new prescription glasses a breeze all went very well. Staff super, kind and knowledgeable. Glasses to take 2 weeks.
Didn't hear anything from them after just over a fortnight so decided to ring. After a little while I was told the manufacturers had cancelled my order, but they weren't informed. So had to be reordered and another wait for 2 weeks. I went back to Boots from Specsavers and now not sure that was a good move. Yes I got an apology, but that doesn't help when my old glasses are broken. Very disappointed.

I visited the Frimley High Street branch, the staff were very helpful, after my eye test, I chose my glasses, I was shown respect and patience, us 70+ take a little longer.
Kindness was shown.Thankyou.

Tracey in Romsey not only sold me a pair of sunglasses but ,unprompted ,sorted out a problem with my varifocals. First class service provided without fuss and quickly. We were very impressed and grateful for the service we received.

Kieran,Charlie and Tom were the friendliest, down to earth, helpful team who guided me through my eye test and choice of frames with patience and kindness.

This is the second time I have been back to Boots opticians Hornchurch High street within the couple of months .

I was invited by Anita Sian to come into Boots Opticians Hornchurch for her to check my eye health and to have a general conversation .

Anita, was extremely kind, gentle and calm she listened to my concerns and she was very polite and professional in her response and explained her professional terminology that she was using to me.

Anita, gave me a new prescription for my glasses and then handed me over to Debbie to advise me on new lenses that I wanted to fit in my original Tom Ford frames.

Debbie was professional and pointed out that my frames the coating was coming off due to the wear and tear so it would be difficult to fit new lenses into them and they may be sent back as they would be unable to put the new lenses in due to the wear of my frames as they have to heat the frames up and they can become brittle.

After this discussion with Debbie, I decided to look for new frames .Debbie, went through different styles and shapes with me but it didn’t take me long to choose a pair .

I chose a pair of Boss frames with new prescription lenses .I paid the 50% deposit and Debbie also had pre booked another appointment on May bank holiday for me to come in when they are ready so she can fit the glasses for me.

All in all , the service was very professional, pleasant and caring .

Excellent service replaced my nose pads on my sunglasses free of charge

That’s why we continue to return to Boots Opticians Romsey.

Chaotic & inefficient system. They confiscate contact lenses if you are due an eye test even though the contact lenses appointment check is within date. Always have to wait to be seen approx 20 minutes, always different staff testing eyes, main door to shop always locked. Boots used to be great. Likely to go elsewhere ongoing

Boots at wells were absolutely amazing. I can’t believe how long they spent with me and the kindness they showed. I had a problem with my eyes so I was very anxious when I went in but was made to feel at ease immediately. They gave me lots of reassurance that I was completely and throughly checked. Also lovely advice and help while choosing new glasses. I would definitely recommend the team especially Cary’s, Lukas, Claire and Andreea who were all lovely .

Today I went to Boots Opticians in Newton Abbot town centre with a suspected detached retina.
I received a wonderful service from Satnam and Holly so, a big thank you to both.
I would recommend this Opticians to everyone.

Tavistock Opticians’s are the best opticians I have been to From when you walk in the door have your eyes tested by Natasha who is spot on with the test to lovely James who fitted my glasses to Dana and lovely ladies who work there are brilliant always cheerful and very helpful I would definitely recommend Tavistock Boots are the best . Some opticians make you feel uncomfortable when you need adjustment but not there . They are like a little family 10 out of 10 x
