Misuse of Data -GDPR issues
Failed to use my data in a manner I had given permission for. Then asked for more sensitive data when a DSAR was asked of them by ICO. As if I would give a company, that has already identified me, more sensitive data when they cannot follow GDPR with the minimal data they already have.

Extremely disappointed by British Gas as a well known British Brand of Centrica, the Customer Resolution and Executive Complaints Specialist team needs to understand vulnerable customers and not to discriminate deaf / hard of hearing and because of this we left the company immediately. All future communication has failed by Executive Complaints Specialist team for not recognising vulnerable customers.

British Gas Lite are the worst company…
British Gas Lite are the worst company I have ever dealt with. They are ACTUALLY fraudulent, despite baring the name 'BRITISH'. They did not inform us our contract ended, even when I spoke to them and questioned our high bill. They then held us and our account TO RANSOM, not allowing us to go elsewhere. They did not take our complaint seriously. Finally, were took it to THE ENERGY OMBUDSMEN. Who set out 4 resolution steps. They have ignored us, and our emails and actually now OWE US money, yet ignoring us and still proceeding to send threatening letters claiming we owe £1200. The accepted the resolutions from the ENERGY OMBUDSMEN, but have not stuck to the terms of it. They have caused nothing but stress and upset in the past year. They only have 'live chat' which never works. So you have no way of actually contacting the. No phone number. STAY WELL AWAY. My next step is legal action against them, where we will be claiming for compensation.
Customer care zero
Just want to add bank details as requested by them. Scanning QR code I was sent takes me to option of setting up account to do it or calling the number.
Called the number - listened to 5 min of recorded messages urging me to go online - then finally call answered by woman with baby in background who informs me that online is the only option.
Pathetic unhelpful unprofessional company.

COSMO couldn't help
COSMO couldn't help - because it's the least intelligent but of machine code I've encountered. No matter, COSMO very kindly announced that it couldn't help and was putting me through to an exotic sounding helper. I'll never know what this one was - it was either mute, or someone had stolen it's keyboard. So, they couldn't help either. I only wanted to change my email address, not discuss Byzantine architecture. Hopeless.

British Gas homecare: liars that put their customers at risk
British Gas Homecare. Engineer destabilised my new boiler / heating installation and then refused to come back to rectify even when pleaded with. They clearly have neither the resources, nor the expertise to justify their contract. And they do not care about vulnerable customers. They lied about when they're going to send a so-called "emergency" appointment. Was supposed to be next day, but the actual appointment booked was three days later - leaving my family without a working system. Unbelievable bad faith and abusive of customers with no choice but to simply take the beating over and over again.

Trying to sell shares via Equiniti
Trying to sell shares via Equiniti/ Shareviwew is a frustrating and time consuming task via call centres in India. Not the fault of the operators but poor training by their management. The fees are extortionate so use one of the good old British Brokers. It's time that Centrica management used or recommended another agency. Shame on them and no wonder the company has gone down hill for years. Hopefully, shareholders will sack the present board and 'start again'.
website not working again
Tried to download my mothers bill, website would allow me to do it. Then kept taking me to a payment page. They have not issued a bill for over six months. Tried to talk to chat , said it was busy and gave me the opening hours which I was trying to contact them during. Then tried again several times, after that went to raise complaint , again the system was busy. Thsi unfortunately is nothing new, had more problems with this provider than any other. i'm seriously thinking of moving her account even though of no financial benefit but at least you wouldnt have these constant issues.

Poor Service from Hive / Centrica
I received a communication from Hive to say that my current hub and thermostat will become obsolete in August 2023 and that I should replace it with a new one.
I was going to leave it to 2023 but my Hive App started playing up and I thought it might be timely to change the equipment now. I called customer services which appears to be based in South Africa. At 12.29 I spoke to an agent and agreed to purchase a new hub, thermostat and receiver for £95.20. On receiving my purchase confirmation which was sent by email, I found that my order included the Mini thermostat rather than the regular Thermostat. Had I wanted the Mini Thermostat it would have cost me approximately £75 from ScrewFix.At 14.30 I called customer services again and got a different agent, who explained that the order had been filled and that I would have to return the whole package when I received it. He added that the regular Thermostat was out of stock and that was the reason that the Mini thermostat had been include in the bundle.
I explained my concern that the original agent had substituted the regular thermostat without telling me and without adjusting the price.
My second issue was with the problems that I was having with the app that controls my heating. I would expect a Company like Hive to send out information to its customers when there is a problem especially when we are all trying to manage the use of energy.
Lastly I asked the second agent if I could speak to a supervisor to express my dissatisfaction but no one was available....so he told me that someone would call me......the clock is ticking!
I am sure that worse thing happen ....but it strikes me as shoddy uncaring service!
Centrica - Fantastic media team who made British Gas contact me.

However, to cut a long story short, I phoned the media team as I was getting nowhere with BG after months and months of contacting them (BG), and getting no response.....and being hounded to pay a bill I did not owe. The amazing lady I phoned in the media team agreed to help. Thank you so much CENTRICA for sorting this out within a day when your "BG expert" company couldn't for months.

Centrica/British Rip Off Gas are vile disgusting companies, stealing money from their customers. For months we have been receiving bills with exact same £815.15 standing charge added per month, we only use monthly circa £35.00 to £45.00 and our monthly bills are always over £1000 pounds, they should be taken to court and jailed. ***DO NOT USE THEM UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES*** If you are using them please change your supplier
