We were able to plan our trip to fulfill our bucket list dreams. We visited all the places we wanted to experience (rain forests) and none of the ones we weren't interested in (beaches). The hotel accommodations were lovely. The food was excellent - catered to our vegetarian, gluten free eccentric dietary preferences. The guides were outstanding educators who customized our adventures to our interests and stamina.

They helped plan our trip and we had a lot of fun. We missed one of the buses due to their error but they fixed it and we continued on. It is getting really expensive in Costa Rica.

My granddaughter Caroline and I spent 12 days in Costa Rica (CR) with CRE. She has Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). Every step of the way we had great experiences. From Tortuguero (Tortuga Lodge) to Monteverde Lodge and onto Hacienda Baru in Domincal region. There were special experiences every day. We She loved everything. It was hat and Caroline said, "G PA it is so hot that an ant could take a bath in my belly button." She couldn't get enough of CR. Wants me to take her back again. Maybe Pura Vida

My sister and I have traveled to Costa Rica twice with Costa Rica Expeditions. They were excellent to work with, listened to our requests and gave very helpful advice. We never had to worry about a transportation to and from our destinations. All the representatives and tour guides we dealt with were friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. During our last visit when we had a problem with one of our accommodations they responded immediately. I would not travel to Costa Rica without them!

Honestly, I didn't expect the level of service I received from Costa Rica Expeditions. They respond to my email in a timely matter. They communicated with me every step of the way. When we arrived in Costa Rica, the expedition package was waiting for us. Our entire time at Costa Rica was so smooth and stress free because of Costa Rica Expeditions. They have everything down when it comes to planning and executing your expeditions. I don't usually write reviews but this travel agency is worth the mention.

My wife and I have used the services of Costa Rica Expeditions twice in the past four years, and could not have been happier. Our first trip with our daughters went so well that we returned with friends, and both trips were perfect. From planning to booking to arrival to departure, their courteous staff and selected service providers were always available and accommodating. We were always greeted by friendly people who went out of their way to make sure that we saw the best of their beautiful country, especially the wildlife and scenery. Transportation services were always on time and accommodations were always better than we could ever expect, especially considering some of the remote locations we got to. From Tortugero NP, staying at the company owned Tortuga Lodge on the remote north east Caribbean coast to Arenal and Monteverdi in the north central region to Drake Bay and Corcovado NP, way down the south pacific coast, we used every means of transportation going without a hitch, and always had a wonderful stay of 3-4 days to explore the area with great guides and activities that CRE selected, based on the plans they helped us put together. I would recommend using CRE to anyone wanting to really discover what Costa Rica has to offer.

Our accommodations were excellent and the drivers were there on time. The guides were excellent. We were very pleased with our trip and would willingly recommend Costa Rica Expeditions to others.

We had a good idea of many of the experiences that we wanted in Costa Rica, and then Costa Rica expeditions gave us all of those final recommendations on where to stay and what adventure companies to use and took all of the worry out of the process. Our vacation was stress-free and fun!

We had a wonderful vacation thanks to their expert guidance and planning. The trip was a perfect combination of nature, cultural experiences, and time to relax.

Tortuguero was a perfect place to begin our trip and traveling to Tortuga Lodge by van and boat was the ideal way to arrive. It was amazing to be so close to the natural surroundings. Awesome waking up to the howler monkeys and all the exotic birds in the morning. It was fun having iguanas wondering through the dining room. Our room was very comfortable and the food was delicious. Great accommodations, especially given the remoteness of the lodge. We enjoyed all the activites and were glad that we did all that we had planned including: Wildlife Boat Tour, tour of Tortuguero Village with cocoa session, Kayaking Tortuguero National Park (Karen’s favorite), guided night hike, and the Words Adventure. Noel was an outstanding guide for all of our Tortuguero activites and Noily Campos did a great job with her Word Adventure Program. I hope that our time with the two children was as meaningful to them as it was to us. In addition, we did some short hikes on our own behind the lodge.

We also loved the “off the beaten path” feel of Aguila de Osa Inn. Again, it was great to be so close to the natural surroundings. We particularly enjoyed family style dining with other travelers in the evenings highlighted by great conversation with wonderful people from Costa Rica and around the world. All the activities were enjoyed and memorable including our hike in Corcovado National Park and snorkeling at Cano Island. This was our daughter’s first experience snorkeling and although she was apprehensive at first, she loved it and did not want to leave by the end. I also did some kayaking on my own from the lodge and we walked into Drake Bay one afternoon.

Monteverde Cloud Forest was an enjoyable change from the coastal experience. The accommodations at Monteverde Lodge and Gardens were a little more “hotel like”, but there was still plenty of nature just outside the door. We enjoyed eating dinner in town at local restaurants two evenings. The Monteverde Reserve and Curi Cancha hikes were awesome. Amazing birds! Christian Mena was an outstanding guide who really helped us understand and appreciate the unique environment and ecosystem. He was very knowledgeable, a great teacher and a lot of fun. We enjoyed the Sky Tram and Sky Walk experience. We were glad we did the Don Juan Coffee Tour and now have a new appreciation of coffee, coca and sugarcane processing.

Manuel Antonio was quite different from the previous three places that we had stayed. We absolutely loved Arenas del Mar! The accommodations, the food, the staff, the beaches and even the wildlife around the resort were outstanding and we felt very fortunate to be there. Relative to the incredible national parks and preserves we had visited earlier in out trip, Manuel Antonio didn’t compare. We did see some wildlife on the interpretive walk through Manuel Antonio National Park, but it was extremely overcrowded with people. The sunset Catamaran Island Adventure was not quite what we had expected. It was more of a college student party scene with 50-60 people on board and the snorkeling was not good. Our stay at Arenas del Mar was very relaxing and the perfect way to wrap-up our time in Costa Rica.

The people throughout our trip were amazing and the hospitality was exceptional. Our guides, hostesses, drivers, waiters, waitresses, housekeepers and Costa Ricans not even directly involved in our trip made us feel very welcome. Kind, helpful, positive, patient, knowledgeable, proud and caring.
