Good past experience with Fmp, just not yesterday.
I’ve used Findmypast for a long time principally to obtain records not available, or at least accessible, on Ancestry, which is getting a bit big for its boots. My experience with Findmypast the other day was that there was nothing much more than what I already had for that particular ancestor. That doesn’t mean I will stop using Fmp.

Excellent genealogy site and resources
I have not been doing much genealogy in recent months but have been something of a power user of FMP over a number of years now. I have been mainly searching through the vast number of colonial East India Company records held by your organisation, that are very comprehensive and easy to search. Once I do this, I plan to branch out into other UK/Australian sources on your site, and expect a similarly seamless way to quickly add to my huge family tree (over 4,000 people). Lots of good resource materials
Lots of good resource materials though I find the search function a little hard to navigate. For me, it is not very intuitive and I find modifying search terms to get better results is a bit hit or miss. But possibly that is because I am not very familiar with it, being relatively new to the site. I like the way research findings are displayed and the ability to easily click through to transcriptions and/or images.

My Descendants.I seem to be able to find most past…
I seem to be able to find most past members of the family. Finding some is harder when Births, Marriages, and Deaths are not on line. I am in New Zealand so cannot visit the churches etc. that I would love to do.
Maybe one day.

In our Australian records the Birth, Marriage & Death records do mostly cover cemetery records. Although these are not formal records of birth, death and marriages, the cemetery records quite often provide dates of birth and death, along with much more extensive information on the person and their family.
Australian birth, marriage and death records are recorded by each state, there is no central records office, so you will need to contact The Registry of Birth, Death and Marriages for the particular state if you require a birth, marriage of death certificate.

Interesting to be able to find some of my family. Difficult when you have differing spelling of surnames. Not everything I have needed can be found on this site.

I found things which I was looking for, and would probably stay with find my past but unfortunately it is very expensive. I also find the website reasonably easy to manoeuvre around.

Lots of useful information
This site has really helped me fill a few gaps in my tree. Having access to the 1921 census really helped. There is so much on this site like war records and newspapers. I was just going to use it for the trial period, then cancel, but there is so much on this site that I signed up for a year. You can also build your tree on here or upload one you've built on another site. Highly recommend.
