Really straight forward and positive experience with everyone encountered at homemade especially Rish. Everyone was informative and made my first rental experience a good one so far, can’t recommend them enough.

I had a great experience with Home Made, especially thanks to Rish. He was incredibly patient, showing me a variety of flats to help me find the right one. I really appreciated how well-prepared he was. He had already looked into all the questions I had asked the agency before our viewing, which made the whole process so much smoother. On top of that, he was kind, helpful, and professional throughout. Would definitely recommend!

Unfortunately, I fell for Home-Made's high pressure tactics to secure a holding deposit from me without having had sight of a draft tenancy agreement first.

Guidance for landlords is to both communicate up-front under what circumstances a holding deposit can be retained, and to provide a draft tenancy agreement for review.

Once I was able to review the tenancy agreement, there were factual errors relating to start/end dates and monthly rent as well as legal drafting errors that would imply an impossibly low rent.

Additionally, amenities that were promised as free during my viewing of the unit are not so free and can be removed unilaterally by the landlord at any time. What good is advertising an amenity as being included if the landlord can take it away whenever they want?

They also took more than one-week's worth of rent as a holding deposit and are quite emphatic in their representations regarding their rights to retain my holding deposit.

Any company that engages in financial transactions should prioritise transparency and fair-dealing with any client that they take money from, should ensure that they can do the maths correctly, and should want to make deals happen where nobody has been misled or mis-sold; unless of course, all they want is your money and couldn't care less about ethics or the law.

HomeMade were very helpful in our house search. Communication was simple and transparent which made paying invoices and sorting legal documents a really smooth process.

Their team are really personable too (shootout to Marc and Ben) and they seemed genuinely invested in finding the best property that fitted our needs (which is rare).

So far, Home Made has provided me with excellent properties that match both my criteria for the apartment and budget. I am very thankful to Rish Bhikha, who has done an excellent job at showing me properties and facilitating offers. 5 stars for the agent

Me and me fiancé are very satisfied with the services of the home made company. We are almost 3 years in the flat and it’s been very nice.

The homemade team have been exceptional with aiding me secure my new flat. A huge thank you to Emily, India, and Ben who provided constant guidance, reassurance and support throughout the process -and replying to our many emails and calls promptly! The whole process was very easy to follow and well informed throughout.

Great home experience, Marc was very detailed, answered all questions that was asked about the area. Very attentive, made me feel comfortable.

I had a good experience viewing the Clay Alto apartments with Rish today. He was very professional, polite and friendly. He informed us about all the amenities and made us feel super comfortable. He also assisted me with the offer form. Highly recommend!

Terrible company—avoid at all costs. Their tactic is to manipulate you during viewings by claiming all bills are included and insisting the flat will be gone within minutes, pressuring you to pay the holding deposit immediately. Once you’ve paid, they bombard you with emails from various individuals, all providing conflicting information. The person who gave you the initial details at the viewing will then ignore your calls and respond only via text, completely denying what they said—essentially making you feel like you imagined the entire conversation.

This shady behavior was carried out by their agent, Rish, whose communication skills were subpar, to say the least. After that, they’ll disappear entirely. If you attempt to withdraw and reclaim your holding deposit so you can move on, they’ll send a smug and condescending individual to call you, introducing new, previously undisclosed terms. This individual will argue incessantly, trying to unnerve you, behaving as though the deposit is their personal entitlement.

I am considering further action but honestly, the amount involved is too trivial to waste my energy on. Regardless, avoid this company at all costs. You can hide my reviews all you want, but I’ll continue to share my experience if it can save others from going through the same thing.

What’s worse is how they handled the deposit. Instead of working with transparency, they weaponized information tenants wouldn’t have known beforehand to intimidate and hold on to the deposit unfairly. Such tactics are not only unethical but also demonstrate the disregard they have for their clients.

Let me be clear: you may have taken my deposit, but that will not hinder my search for a better and more trustworthy agent. This experience only highlights how unethically you operate. With this attitude, it’s hard to imagine your business surviving in the long term. Tenants deserve better.

Avoid them at all costs if you value honesty and professionalism.
