I would seriously suggest anyone buying or anyone who has previously bought a car from here to check of any remedial works have actually been carried out. We waited 6 weeks for work to be carried out. When an email was sent to Craig threatening to pull out the car was miraculously ready for us to collect. I had my doubts as I had visited the garage the car was supposedly being done at and it was clear the work needed had not been carried out. I have videos and photos that prove this.

When we went to collect the car, Craig was sat in his office and refused to see us, instead he had another member of staff who was not aware of the situation deal with us. The poor guy had to keep going backwards and forwards between us and Craig, this could have been solved quicker had Craig actually come out of his office and dealt with our questions himself. We asked for proof that the work had been undertaken before we took the car. This could not be provided so Craig emailed me a list of work that had supposedly been done. Stating that the timing chain had been 'cleaned' and not changed. When I questioned this, he then emailed to say that the timing chain had been changed and he 'forgot' to add it on the previous email. I then suggested a compromise for our own peace of mind that if we were to take the car to an independent garage and if it turned out the timing chain had not been changed, would they be happy to change it. Craig then said that they would only change the timing chain if it failed. I double checked that I had heard right and they could not confirm the work had been done. He got very annoyed at being caught out lying.

We are now left without a car thanks to Craig and his lack of honesty.

I ordered a motor vehicle and asked for works to be done on the Tuesday for me to collect on Saturday. Got a call on Friday everything was on track just some valeting required. I traveled some 300 odd miles, got there around lunchtime. When I went to view the vehicle it still had the same problem with an oil light still being on and low tyre inflation warning. I was told that the light would only go out after 100 miles. I wasn’t happy with that prognosis. My limited knowledge tells me that was a sensor. They then said drive it away and they would pay for it to go into a Mitsubishi garage. Not a chance, I’m not firstly buying something that is not 100% and then also running around fixing a problem the garage should have done. I wasn’t best pleased, I don’t recommend this outlet!

put in a part ex valuation online request twice against a car they have and a week later still no response
It states view your configuration but it says awaiting valuation

My experience with Lancaster Motortrust…
My experience with Lancaster Motortrust was so frustrating that I feel compelled to warn others.
From the outset, the advertised warranty was misleading. I was led to believe the car came with full warranty coverage, only to be told I had to pay extra to get what was originally promised. That was just the beginning.
I also had to pay for vehicle delivery, despite the listing suggesting it was included. Another case of false advertising.
There was a scratch on the alloy which I was promised a repair, but was later told the only technician was off sick. Instead, I was offered £50—barely enough to cover a proper repair.
To make matters worse:
The car arrived without floor mats.
On day one, I noticed an engine leak. A mechanic confirmed it was serious—essentially, the car was ruined.
When I contacted Lancaster, the manager was rude, and another salesperson was equally dismissive.
They refused to pay for the car’s collection, even though it was faulty.
I was even lied to—told the manager was on holiday when I tried to return the car.
Eventually, I was able to reject the car under the Distance Selling Regulations and received my money back. But the process was unnecessarily stressful, dishonest, and unprofessional.
I would strongly caution anyone considering buying from Lancaster Motortrusr. My experience was riddled with misleading claims, poor customer service, and a lack of accountability.

Dreadful experience with this company. Everything that is wrong with a used car dealership. The phrase 'how do you know when a used car dealer is lying to you? His lips are moving' could have been coined here. Bought a second hand BMW which took 4 days to 'prepare' and was still 2 hours later than the arranged pick up time and it had a thimble full of petrol in it. We were told the vehicle had been taxed that morning but that was the first lie. It hadn't. Luckily we checked with DVLA to be told no the vehicle has not been taxed. Called dealership to be assured it had been taxed and it takes longer to come through? Then told they had sent a cheque for payment to the post office and a receipt would be sent through by email. Guess what? That didn't happen. Numerous calls to dealership to speak to the manager resulted in 'he's stuck on the M6'or 'he's in a meeting' or 'he's interviewing staff'.
10 days later after calling the dealership daily(still haven't spoken to the elusive manager) a receipt was sent for the payment of the vehicle tax. Avoid at all costs.

Bought a car March 2025
Salesman never bothered to sent papers to DVLA
Never bothered to register the car for the 1 year warranty
Everything I call the manager is busy
A salesman finally said he'll do the paperwork
And didn't do it
If there was a minus points..they deserve it
Worst garage ever!

Called about a BMW I was interested in and asked about tyre condition etc . The salesman told me there was a £200 admin charge on a cash sale and they would need several days to get the car ready .
It says on their website that
“THERE ARE NO ADMIN FEES “.
The car has an MOT over 6 months so I should be able to pick it up .I asked to speak to the manager about the above points and was told “ he’s too busy to talk to you , put it in an email “ and hung up .
Update - I managed to stay focused and emailed the branch general manager. He understood my points and waved the admin fee . So we will go up to 4 stars and if all goes well then 5 stars .

Rang 7 days ago about a vehicle, Mitsubishi ASX priced at £12700, I noticed a few days later at £12200. Ok great reduced, looked today it is £13200.
Called this morning Via online, operator said would get back to me, re called Via same medium this afternoon and left full details again, still no contact.
Perhaps I should give them a miss ????

Update, 14/07/25 - still no contact. Had mail from a salesman, saying couldn't get through to me, maybe a mistake on my behalf, re sent my contact details, still nothing. Had finance in place, guess they don't want to sell cars
Called Friday 18.07.25, salesman on day off, no problem, colleague took my number and said Nathan would call following day, Sat 19.07.25. Its now Sunday 20.07.25 still no call, I really liked the car, their loss, have placed a deposit on another vehicle at a rival dealership.
Really cannot understand Nathan's attitude or their sales manager.

first of all, motor trust lancaster is not the first company I want to go for. but when I heard about the dealership that I want to get the car and heard bad review about it I look on different site and find motor trust with good reviews. So I call the company and CARL is there. he is to very friendly and accommodation. no pressure at all and no hard selling just pure help. and remember we do it on the phone never saw the car only in picture. carl help me to process everything from the cheapest APR we can get and good finance company and from the car that I want. every time I call and need help carl is there with welcoming voice. also the team of team motor trust lancaster is good. I got my perfect car with good condition and hopefully dont have problem in few month and years. motor trust had wonderful cars to offer with AA approved check and trust worthy agent and cars. you never go wrong with motortrust lancaster. I just had my car yesterday and they do deliver it. the guy who deliver the car also take care of it nicely. (sorry forgot the name) but he is so nice and warming. so go with motor trust lancaster.

Absolutely appalling Comunications, never called us when they said they would. Turned up to pick the car up and had to wait nearly 2 hours as car was still being prepared. They could have phoned us beforehand and told us to turn up later as we had an hour and half drive. couldn’t tax the car as they could not find the v5 log book. Said the car had been serviced by there garage but could not provide evidence other than a scrap bit of paper that my 11 year old grandson could have done a better job printing…..they said the car would have a new MOT on it which never happened . I voiced my concern about an oil leak picked up as an advisory on the previous mot. Expressed my concern about the clutch being very high. All these things were supposed to be looked at when it was ‘being serviced’ There was a mark on the headlight that they said they would sort … we would not buy from them again based on there level of service. There was no hand over other than here’s the key the car is outside. We would have bought from HPL Preston who are absolutely brilliant but didn’t have the car my granddaughter had got her heart set on.

Excellent service, as I was unable to view the car the deal was done over the phone with my car being part exchanged Aidan was very helpful and talked me through everything including home delivery and pickup of my old car. I am very pleased with the new car and would highly recommend them as a good and honest dealership

I recently purchased at the Lancaster branch where I was first greeted with a very warm handshake from Louis. We ended with a hug.

The service from start to finish was absolutely exceptional and would recommend Louis to anyone. Informative, friendly and just all round sublime customer service. Will be back!

Unknown to the garage the car had a fault which was
Dealt with at no cost to me even 4 months after the purchase.

The main reason for my review is to put on record my thanks to Craig for his professionalism in resolving my issue and please note it was not a cheap

They give me a car loan that was unfit to be on the road and NO ROAD TAX and ignored me when sent emails asking for evidence that it was taxed
I had to go and get the repair done my self as they refused to do anything about it no oh thanks for taking a hour out of your time because we can't do our job right
One of the rear light was still faulty and they ignored my email after email asking them to sort out repair!
They then sent the car that i purchased with no inflation/repair kit and again I have to sort it out my self and they would reimbursed me even though they had the car an extra 3 weeks to prep it

Request for thinks to be escalated higher totally ignored

Management rude and obnoxious and once got your money don't wanna know.

Made a comment on Facebook the response was delete it and block me lol

Terrible service, misleading information, and zero accountability. After picking up my car on November 30th, 2024, I didn't receive my V5 after over 16 calls and numerous emails, and I had to pay for it myself in the end, as the dealership didn’t provide the original. Their finance process was a mess, with two unnecessary credit checks due to their error, and their paper-based finance applications led to a mix-up. The finance calculator on their website also provided incorrect estimates.

Just two weeks after getting my car, a service notification popped up, and I had to book the service myself. They promised to fix issues raised, but nothing was done. I was passed between multiple staff members—Nick, Greg, and Mark—none of whom followed through on what they promised. The lack of accountability from management, including the CEO, was staggering. They also had my part-exchanged car listed for sale while the finance was still outstanding for 5 weeks, and when I asked why, I was met with "no comment."

They also took over 5 weeks to pay off my previous finance, which caused us financial strain by forcing us to pay for two vehicles at once. In the end, I got the car, but the stress and hassle took the shine off my experience. The complete lack of professionalism and follow-through makes me strongly advise against dealing with this company.

I eventually had to involve the AA as a mediator to get reimbursed, which took another 5 weeks. I would have ended up with nothing had it not been for their help.

Brilliant people who go far and beyond to make ever thing go smoothly would highly recommend them
