Sheds Direct Ireland Reviews

Measurements are false!! We purchased a Premium Apex 8ft x 6ft steel shed. After a difficult and long self assembly I measured the shed. It measures 7ft 8'' x 5ft 8'' ( 233cm x 173cm external)
My invoice states that the size should be 244cm(W) x 179cm(L). That's 10cm of steel short all round.
Assembly takes much longer than 1-1.5 hours stated on the instructions. True if you have assembled this shed many times before but when it's your first time it's a day and more. The instructions are very hard to read. Not all of the parts and numbered. Screws were missing on the base assembly. Panels were damaged. Difficulty lining up the slots for the screws. I had a perfectly level concrete base as required.
I have building experience. I have never been so frustrated putting this shed together. I am annoyed at being sold something which does not measure up to what it claims.

Excellent company to deal with from buying the unit to installation. Had a garden room installed 6.2m by 4 5m. Nothing was a problem and the journey from start to end was top notch Professionalism and efficency at its best. Shanette sheds take a bow!

Great company to deal with from start to finish, the lads built the shed and fitted it exactly where I wanted it even though it was an awkward position, very professional company who I would highly recommend.

Great service great price , very reliable , they came at they time they said they would come , staff very friendly , a lovely company to deal with , i would highly recommend them .

Excellent customer service, item arrived damaged but replacement arrived 2 days later. My emails were responded to immediately, on a Saturday!

Will use again, thank you

I have personally constructed a similar shed a couple years ago from a different vendor. It took me a day to do and I had problems, screw holes did not match sometimes, more screw holes in roof than necessary so I had to patch them. These guys came and constructed the shed in about an hour. Having done this before I was looking for issues with the build. There were none! The external dimensions were as stated, I had a specific width for it to fit. I now have a well constructed shed, a strong shed where I wanted it. Thanks to Sheds Direct for the structure and to Donni and Toni for their nice easy manner and professionalism.

Just an add-on, Donni and Toni used their own screws, high standard with rubber washers. Thanks.

Timing for assembly
I think you will find that reading the other negative comments on Sheds Direct NO ONE could possibly screw in 688 screws, add the 89 parts, assemble doors and add the 732 various other parts in 1.5 hours. That is a complete lie!

ISSUE 2 - so what you are basically saying is that if you want a good shed don’t buy your €700 one as it’s a waste of money and flimsy, so you agree to that???

ISSUE 3 - Yes you did say in your fine print that the shed will degrade quicker in coastal areas. However, as I said below, my friend purchased a shed from a local business in Sligo and it came with the correct screws, materials etc that do NOT rust or corrode. So you are selling flimsy crap that is made of terrible materials.

Basically, you have just admitted that your sheds are rubbish!

And again….I would like to add GO ANYWHERE but Sheds Direct!!!

We are taking our shed down in spring and getting a new one. That’s how crap this €700 waste of money was.

The worst sheds EVER! DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY

We purchased a 9ft x 10ft Steel Shed from Sheds Direct on 09th June 2021 for our mobile home in the West of Ireland. We had the ground work done prior to assembling the shed. We could not get Sheds Direct to assemble the shed for us due to the location we are in so we had to do it ourselves.

ISSUE 1
The instructions say clearly 'Requires 2 people and takes 2-3 hours for installation. Quick and Easy assembly.'

Now, this shed has approximately 89 parts, 2 doors, 688 Screws (yes that many) and also 732 various washers, hinges and other parts.

Both my husband and I are really handy and it still took us 3 DAYS To assemble this shed. The instructions are INFURIATING. DO not buy this shed if you are assembling it yourself. You will 100% regret it! Do yourself a favour pay the extra money and go somewhere else!

ISSUE 2
We bought the Steel shed and the materials used are beyond flimsy. Even lifting the side panels up require stead hands because any bangs no matter how small dent the shed. Think of the material of a tin can. That pretty much sums up the quality of this shed.

Once assembled the shed is completely flimsy, light and feels like it could blow away (even though we have it secured down with bolts we bought.

ISSUE 3
The shed one year on is leaking.
The screws have ALL Rusted.
The front panels have rusted.
One of the doors has already rusted.

After just ONE year.

Leaking Shed
Despite following the APPALLING instructions, the shed is leaking. My husband has had to try to fill various parts with silicone to stop rain from coming in.

Screws
None of the screws is made from galvanised steel. They are all just cheap mental that rust. We contacted Sheds Direct to tell them this issue and they said they would send us out new screws. But literally its just more of the same s**t. My husband had to buy galvanised screws with covers and slowly every weekend we head west, he is having to change the screws one by one. This is tedious to say the least.

Panels and Doors Rusting
We contacted Sheds Direct to say that parts of the shed are rusting. Their response was to take photos and send them to them which I did. They offered to send me new panels in replacement.

However…to replace those panels we would literally have to remove the entire roof. Take off the doors and start again.

The experience has been so bad, I am literally telling anyone that will listen. The mobile park looked at our shed and no longer recommends Sheds Direct as a result. My friend bought a shed from €500 more in the local area in Sligo. They came, and assembled it and it is a million times better than the shed we purchased. Ours is flimsy and the one they got is strong steel and put together with galvanised screws. All capped.

DO NOT buy from Sheds Direct. These are literally the worst sheds you will buy. Pay the money and go anywhere else. It’s the worst purchase we have ever made.

I BOUGHT A CLASSIC 12X10 SHED PUT IT TOGETHER IN A DAY THE SCREWS FOR THE ROOF WERE NOT GREAT SO I CHANGED THEM APART FROM THAT THE SHED IS REALLY GOOD I WOULD ADVISE YOU TO GET THEM TO ASSEMBLE YOUR SHED AS THEY DO NOT CHARGE VERY MUCH AND IT CAN BE HARD TO DO IF YOUR NOT GOOD WITH YOUR HANDS

Ordered Pop Up stools for EP on Tuesday, arrived super quick on Wednesday morning. Great service and those stools were so handy!

Got a shed from Ned in sheds direct west this week. He did it from start to finish. Absolute gentleman and was there for any questions I had. Would highly recommend

Have to say exceptional service, they could not have done more for us. Customer service was excellent. Product was exactly as described and they went out of the way to ensure we had it on time.

Samantha looked after us and she was very helpful. Great customer service skills. Very accommodating. Great job! :)

To be honest I wasn’t expecting much for the money but this is a great bit of kit. I ordered a 10x10 classic steel shed in white. The assembly is full on. It takes time, two people and some beer. Myself and my dad took 8 hours including fitting the floor. Make sure it’s a very calm day . Get up early and commit!! You really need to get it done once started. Wind is not your friend. When finished it’s Very solid, strong and looks great. As far as I can see the low ratings here are from people who gave up on the assembly. If you do it right it’s a proper job.

I ordered a 10' X 12' woodgrain effect steel shed from Sheds Direct to replace a smaller wooden garden shed.
It was delivered ahead of time which suited me fine.
The guys arrived at 7.30am and had it assembled in 2hours, I'm delighted with the quality and appearance of it and it has a great floor.
Perfect job and maintenance free going forward.

Just received my delivery.

Your driver colleague is just excellent at his job. All of you are. I'd asked for a quick call in advance and sure enough ye honoured my request. Your colleague even backed in up to the house (there was no need) which is so far ahead of what couriers do.

Prompt, friendly, great communications, what more could anyone want?

I wish ye continued success. Keep on doing all the small things right and keep on winning.

Great to deal with gave us loads of information prior to purchase. Professional assembly by Sheds direct in a flash. Five star company thank you!

The steel cottage shed that I purchased from Sheds Direct Ireland is very sturdy and much better than the pricier ones available from other retailers. Once built, the shed is solid and will withstand strong winds even without a very strong base support (although it's advised to have a good base support).
Their Customer service is excellent and were instant in responding to my queries and issues.
Highly recommended.

Do yourself a favour and spend a little more money if possible on a shed and don't just go for the cheapest option as I did. These sheds are the worst quality sheds I've come across - just leave your stuff in the garden they'll be as protected as in one of these. Roof or window not sealed correctly, roof nails puncturing the entire roof so like a sieve. Any time it rains and everything inside is soaked. You can do better, trust me!

Writing this after the below reply:
I ordered a 5ft x 7ft wooden shed, it's not my details that are incorrect.

My shed has two windows and there are plenty of nails protruding into the shed.

Its a pent shed which most certainly leaks - and there are no gutters provided.

Sheds direct arranged for installers to erect the shed on a solid, level base, but there is an issue with rainwater.

Highly recommend the colossus 10x12 very sturdy, spacious and good material. Great company to deal with. Only thing I would have liked if there was anchor bolts and brackets left if you need to use them. Not a big issue tho.

This shed is just an average product. Instructions were not clear. Had to drill few extra holes while we putting up the shed.
