Customer Service

I own a 2018 Silverado 1500 and purchased a set of Bilstein 6112’s from Shock Surplus a few years back which was very easy and quick at the time. Moving forward I wanted the shocks adjusted for more height which required disassembly. Got in contact with Brian from Shock Therapy and scheduled a date to bring them in. Brian was absolutely awesome to deal with. Brian assisted me with unloading and loading of the shocks to my vehicle. Shock Surplus techs had my shocks done within 15 minutes. Definitely will be doing business with them in the future. Great customer service! Thank you Brian!

Experience with Shock Surplus was okay

Experience with Shock Surplus was okay. Got my order within 2 weeks but the communication was bad. I reached out 3 separate times asking for tracking info, and if my order had shipped. Half my order just showed up on my door one day. I asked for tracking info, they sent me a tracking number that said my order was delivered. I reached out several times to ensure that they knew I received only half my order with no returned communication. In a world full of scammers, if made me nervous. Then out of the blue, my two other shocks showed up. Again with no notification. Oh well. I got my order but was unaware of the process the whole time.

Ordered a SET of Bilstein shocks for my…

Ordered a SET of Bilstein shocks for my 80 series Land Cruiser paid for the full set which they said they had waiting on this to complete a road trip to Moab. I get the package only to find out. I received the rear shocks but not the front due to a backorder that they did not show at the beginning. They need to show what shocks are in stock and what is not then you talk to AI good luck getting a hold of a human being. This is definitely not a company who cares about its customers. I PAID THEM THE WHOLE AMOUNT STILL MISSING TWO SHOCKS. I NEED TO GET A REFUND AND SEND TWO SHOCKS BACK.

Ordered front and rear shocks

Ordered front and rear shocks. Came to find out after ordering that the front shocks were back ordered. Had to reach out to customer service to find this out. Took multiple weeks to get in contact with anybody to find out about the shocks were back ordered. After multiple attempts of contact and non-resolved issues finally had the shocks drop shipped from Bilstein. Still with little to no contact and customer service. Overall not a great experience.

We understand how frustrating it is to find out about a backorder after placing your order, especially when it takes multiple attempts to get an update. That’s not the level of communication we aim to provide, and we apologize for the delays in getting back to you.

In this case, the front shocks were on backorder with the manufacturer, which is why they were ultimately drop shipped directly from Bilstein once they became available. That said, we agree you should have been informed much sooner and kept updated throughout the process.

Factory Ride Restored

Dishonest regarding shipment of product

I placed my order over the phone, talking to the salesman I told him it was very important that I had my replacement shocks as soon as possible due to the fact that I did not have a vehicle till I fixed this one. He assured me that they would be delivered within a week and it took a month. Very poor communication regarding the delaywhat the holdup was and this caused me much more time without having a vehicle. I would have purchased elsewhere had I known it was gonna take so long

Because the products we sell are fast moving, inventory can change quickly. At the time of ordering, an item may show as in stock, but by the time the order is processed it may no longer be available, which can lead to unexpected delays. Will buy from again

Good pricing. Quick shipment. Easy exchange process. I ordered the wrong parts and had to return them. I exchanged for the correct part and had minor shipping issues. The exchange went well, but the shipping of the new part got a little screwed up. It shipped in two orders, from two locations. I only received the first half of the shipment and it was marked as completed on my end as per their website. After not having a complete order and being told I had, I had to call, which finding a number was extremely difficult. Once I found a person on the phone they resolved the issue for the most part and assured me the rest of the shipment was on its way. I never received tracking for the second half. Unfortunately UPS delivered to the wrong address (not this company's fault) so I didn't know I had to find them at my neighbor's house once delivered. BUT when originally notified of the missing package this company stepped in to help if needed.

Pros:cost, shipping, exchange process
Cons: unclear communication and not easy to get in touch with via phone

really 5 star but shipping was in two…

really 5 star but shipping was in two shipment and they say its probably going to be two shipments. ok, but first shipment states everything shipped and received. customer service was quick to respond to this. Bottom line is i got brand new, in undamaged boxes assembled 6112/5100 shocks i ordered in the two weeks or less promised. with the $50 off sales promotion. Nice, I would buy again.

I was in the market for pre built…

I was in the market for pre built suspension since I didn’t want any other brands at the time. I found shock surplus and was immediately happy, yall had amazing reviews and customer support was also a big thing tha I was looking for too. I received everything in perfect condition and had a few questions about some small things and was immediately answered on the customer support and with no hassle. I will definitely be buying in the future if my vehicles need pre built suspension components

In Stock BUT NOT

The sales/questions process of my purchase went great. Super knowledgeable staff, quick to answer questions. Where things really lacked was post purchase. I was told the Bilstein shocks I wantedwere in stock so I quickly pulled the trigger. A week went by, no tracking, zero contact from CS letting me know about the delay. After two emails and a phone call, finally got a response. One of the front coilovers was on backorder. Fast forward 1 month, it finally shipped. There's more emailing and phone calls in between. Again always with my initiation. Overall, make sure your item is in stock or you're wasting your time here.

From order to ship to door speed was reasonable. However they assembled both shocks as driver side which put me in a bind due to not having the appropriate tools at the location I was installing them. It took them about a week to email me back which they just wanted me to send it back to be corrected. I ended up taking it to a local shop with a spring compressor to rotate the top mount 180 degrees. I had regular spring compressors at my home however I did not want to risk damaging the paint on a brand new spring.

Otherwise the bilsteins ride better then factory but that was expected. Sucks I paid extra for assembly and new top mounts but still had to correct one assembly.

To help make this right, we have processed a refund of $120 for the assembly fee related to the incorrectly assembled shock.
