The initial installation was a disaster. The rail did not fit because of either a survey error or manufacturing error. The chair itself was faulty. The whole installation was removed. Nearly a month later a second attempt was successful. Two months later the chair was continually beeping unless turned off and on (we were told not to do this as the engineer sent out could not find an issue). After 4 months the chair stopped working. My wife called an engineer who came and ‘fixed’ the chair but tested it by moving up and down a metre or two of the rail before leaving. My disabled wife (alone at the time) used the chair same day after he left an as soon as she moved to a bend in the rail the chair stopped working. After a few attempts turning the chair on and off she managed to get back down. At 3.30pm she called Stannah for the second time and was told this is now an ‘out of hours’ issue (at 3.30pm!) and she will have to wait for an engineer, behind whoever else needs help first. It seems there are several others. As I type at 8pm the engineer is here and working on the chair. The whole experience is absolutely disgraceful.

Great service from engineers. But admin went so slowly. I think Stannah forgets that their products are essential for life for their customers and by not having a working lift for two weeks requires my wife having to do dangerous climbing of stairs.
Also, costing us around £2,000 to repair a broken solenoid is not good value for money, but we have no choice.

Excellent and engineer arrived on time and very helpful

So far all is well but the Stairlift broke down the next day after installation so a little concerned reliability

Great caring service from everyone. Arrived on time, polite and did a great job. Easy to contact and talk to on the telephone and all my pre installation queries answered promptly and professionally.

A complete rip off, we thought going to Stannah was the best. The chair is too small and there is not enough space for my legs to pass the post when turning the corners. Our district nurse says it will be completely unusable as I get more ill. We have spent £8000 on something that is a danger and a complete waste of money

Installed on time, in only a few hours by very pleasant technicians and functions well on a difficult staircase

From the initial meeting with the rep through to the instalation of the lift, all the Stannah employees were very professional. They gave us the correct product for our needs at a very good price, no hard sell too, the workmen, (electrician, joiner and installers) were polite, professional and left the house immaculate. I can highly recommend.
