Had a really great experience with Bryony Palmer. She was an excellent litigator and very attentive to my difficult case, couldn't recommend her and Stirling Ackroyd enough.

Purchased a house with the support of this firm back in November 2020. Kumaran was really helpful and supportive. He always answered my calls and my emails. As this is my first property that I purchased, I may have asked some obvious questions but Kumaran was really patient and explained everything. I am happy with the service especially given the current pandemic Covid-19 situation.

I worked with this firm for the purchase of my house and Benem was really supportive and professional. I would instruct her again as she is a great solicitor.

Most of which seem to be similarly worded and very formulaic and from profiles which have made no other reviews. My own experience has been truely terrible and more akin to that of the genuine reviewers who are giving 1 star. My advice is this : no matter how cheap they seem compared to other firms it is for a reason, they will attempt to hit you with plenty of hidden charges anyway so you will end up getting charged the same as if you had gone with a reputable firm who would actually do what they are supposed to! save yourself a lot of time and stress by not engaging stirling ackroyd.

I am genuinely wondering if this individual actually exists. Apparently assigned as a conveyancer for my purchase but has not responded to a single call or email in TWO MONTHS! Calls and emails to their compIaints team likewise get ignored. I would advise steering well clear of this firm, at the very least until they sort their issues out.

Our conveyancer disappeared 3 times (that I know of) during our sale. She didn't do any handover or let us know she was going in holiday even when her leave was the day before an agreed completion date and she knew that work was outstanding. The front desk repeatedly told us that she was "in a client meeting" when they must have known she was on leave. When she was in the office she was still very difficult to contact and would not respond to email unless followed by chaser calls. She refused to speak to us without a meeting, which had to be arranged sometimes days in advance, and then didn't call at the agreed time or offer any explanation or apology. Usually these emails (and chaser calls) were just to find out if she had received documents etc from our leaseholder or management company. It was clear when we did speak to her that she wasn't keeping on top of her workload and that emails with important documents and answers to enquiries were getting buried in her inbox so we often had to get things resent. The work done was sloppy and contained errors which caused significant delay and resulted in lots of changes on completion day. Selling your home is always going to be stressful but the endless delays and 8 agreed exchange dates were completely unnecessary. This company has put us through absolute hell.

I'm now using a different conveyancer who simply emails me when she has an update and has her holiday dates on her signature. No chasing and minimal stress!

She was very hardworking and dealt with my matter very well. She was very kind and polite, great person to work with. I will definitely recommend her to all my family and friends. I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience and the outcome.

Our conveyancing process was a difficult (and long) one, and we were in a chain of unbelievably incompetent, unprofessional and disorganised solicitors. Stirling Ackroyd, and more specifically Benem Osmankan, stood out and was probably the reason we all got over the line in the end. She was communicative, and more importantly, put our interests first and ensured that the transaction never became more risky for us. Even in my most frustrated state, she was patient and professional. Thank you Benem, and I especially appreciated how busy you were at the end of December. We really appreciate it.

This firm are a complete disgrace to the profession and completely incompetent. No matter how much cheaper they seem to other firms on the market do not engage them, or with them, under any circumstances!! It is simply not worth the trouble you will create for yourself. Your money will be lost and your deal will likely fall through. There is nobody working there that you will ever get to speak to other than a hapless receptionist who will never be able to connect you to anyone else.

I am complaining about them, as are many others, to the SRA and would expect them to be closed down before too long.

It took a little bit longer than I thought it would, and that includes factoring in the pandemic, but then, how do you factor in a pandemic when nobody actually has a clue what's happening?

I'm really grateful for Rey's hard work behind the scenes and for her availability in the final week when it really mattered. All my questions were answered incredibly quickly when it came to crunch time and it was a pleasure to finally meet Rey in person. I'm glad I chose Stirling Ackroyd. Like the old saying... use a good conveyance, don't go for a cheap one. I purchased a flat with car park, right before exchange of contracts, I have asked the conveyance in Stirling Ackroyd to check whether the car park is included, and received a confirmation in email. Turns out it does not come with a car park, and when I complain about this to Stirling Ackroyd senior management team, they said will look into this but it has been weeks since I managed to get hold of them... Legal Ombudsman seems the only way to resolve this now.

I found Stirling Ackroyd Legal through an online comparison site. As a first time, solo buyer, it's a lot to get my head around, but my solicitor Benem has been organised and responsive throughout, providing very clear information and answering all my queries efficiently. Given the property market is crazy at the moment I am extremely grateful to have completed in 14 weeks!

I am currently trying to sell my property to someone I know. It's a really straight forward case and we've been wanting to exchange for a while. No matter what I do I can't get Stirling Ackroyd Legal to progress the case. When I speak to the solicitor there he says he will send something through in 15 minutes each time, but never does. These types of delays/ stalling have been happening for weeks. Even though it will be a massive pain I need to give up with them and get a new solicitor as I genuinely don't trust them anymore. They are absolutely hopeless.
