Avoid at all costs.
'Senior' solicitor took up my freehold transaction. First sale fell through, because they were dragging their feet. The 'senior' solicitor sending me long emails complaining about the volume of work he had to do. But reacting fast enough when I tried to contact their main complaints department to lodge a complaint. Then the 'senior' solicitor nearly cost me £300, agreeing payment of fees to a third company involved in the sale, without consulting with me first.
Foolishly, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and kept them for the subsequent second buyer that came through. The 'senior' solicitor promptly went on holiday one day before exchange date, giving me no warning. Exchange date was then rearranged two weeks later. Despite assurances that paperwork was in place, I found out that they did not have the redemption statement in place, literally at 3.30pm on the Friday before Monday's exchange deadline.
Throughout they offered no advice, asking me how to respond to buyer's solicitors enquiries, and the 'senior' solicitor typing the emails verbatim as I spoke. Hard to get in touch, and always preferring to respond on Friday office closing time, so they could drag the process out.
Second buyer pulls out, and they then have the nerve to ask for payment on a no sale - no fee contract!
Seriously avoid like the plague.

Conveyancing during lockdown
We chose Stirling Ackroyd as they quoted a fairly reasonable amount as opposed to the others available for residential conveyancing. As first time buyers, we were trying to save money as much as possible. I’m glad we went ahead with them as they have been professional, and very patient in terms of explaining every single query that we raised. There was constant dialogue between us and them. We are in the process of completion in few days time.
Only suggestion we will have is, sometimes it’s a bit longer than usual to get response from them (but I understand that this isn’t usually the case, as we had our conveyancing done during lockdown)
We got assigned Rey to our case, who had been nothing but super professional, knowledgable, and friendly. God knows how many “stupid” questions we asked, but she dealt with them ever so kindly.
Really recommend for the peace of mind and price affordability.

This is by far the worst Conveyancer in LONDON- DO NOT USE!
Let me start by saying- Do not use them! they will lure you with lower fees and then throw you with unprofessional solicitor. I so regret using them for my first buy to let purchase. My case handler was Afshan Malik, an utter disgrace, as she lacks communication skills which i think should be basic for a lawyer, and then her sense of responsibility is terrible as well. She is super rude on her phone call, if at all you are lucky to get her on line. Most of the time she will never come over the phone and then do not have the courtesy to call you back. I wish I have gone through this website before using them. Due to Afshan my exchange didn't happen on time as she lack responsibility and left at the very last minute , literally a day before asking for documents from the vendor solicitor. Luckily, I know the vendor and their solicitor, so i know the story as well. Even the vendor solicitor were tired of this Afshan Malik last minutes rush and incompetency. When I tried to escalate this to her Manager, Peter Benjamin, who genuinely has knowledge, but disappointing to see the way he will cover up for the bad work of Afshan. He will never acknowledge that due to Afshan's lazy attitude my exchange of contract didn't happened on the agreed date. Then they try to put on COVID situation as their shield of their negligence towards their client.
There are other good firms in the market much much better than Stirling Ackroyd Legal! Absolute Nightmare to deal with !

Never again.
This company was the worst part of my buying experience. As a first time buyer I expected to be guided through the process but I had to chase, chase, chase from start to finish. I was given a trainee who I could never get hold of and never seemed to know what he was doing. It was incredibly upsetting and stressful. Zero support and the absolute bare minimum done, poorly. The whole chain was waiting on my trainee. My pleas to the company to give me an experienced solicitor went ignored. Dreadful.

Felt positive and confident after the first consultation. it took a little long (6 months) to get an answer probably due to covid but it was worth the wait.

Stirling Ackroyd obviously handles 100's of conveyancing projects yet when you are with them you're made to feel as if your case is the only one they are handling such is the quality of their personalised service and faultless communication. Amazing Experience with Stirling Ackroyd Legal
We had the best experience with Stirling Ackroyd Legal. From Will Davey making sure we got all forms done early and ready for the solicitors, and then Henna Yousaf who came and landed our home move which was all done from accept to completion in 6 weeks during lockdown. Henna did a fantastic job chasing things for us and getting all things in order even though our sellers solicitors were terrible. We can’t recommend her highly enough.

The staff that dealt with my matter was Rey Caliskan
The staff that dealt with my matter was Rey Caliskan and we had two days to complete on a purchase where the Notice to complete was due to expire and there was a threat of forfeiture of the deposit. Rey took on the matter and dealt with it swiftly, professionally, skilfully and expeditiously and by so doing we were able to complete within the tight time frame.

It was worst (slowest) service, was I just unlucky?
It was worst (slowest) service. Most work was carried out by inexperience paralegal and solicitor as supervisor seemed too busy to monitor the progress.
Many questions were ignored.
If you decide to use this firm , probably better be prepared to monitor progress and chase them yourself and you should have some knowledge on the subject too as you might be dealt by a trainee. You can’t Ask them then be relaxed as they advertise.
I wonder why there are some good reviews on them , maybe it’s paid review or I might be simply unlucky to be allocated with unexpected careless trainee paralegal who act for you ( not solicitor which I though who I paid for to play the main role)
Hope you find firm that don’t let a trainee to play main role on your case. Quote was cheaper but now I rather pay more for good solicitor to save overall cost.
