We really wanted to go with Thatch Cover after they were recommended in a Facebook group for thatched property owners - and they absolutely lived up to the praise.

Kelvin explained my options clearly pointing out the pros and cons of different choices of cover, excess to pay etc. He kept in contact and offered a link to a company which undertakes desktop rebuild valuations. I would highly recommend these brokers.

Ever wondered where the figure for your buildings "sum insured" comes from? It was a bit of a mystery to me, too. Thanks to Thatch Cover, this insured value is now reliable.

Thatch Cover got me a much lower renewal quotation, also advising me about the value of getting a professional reconstruction evaluation to make sure we aren't under-insured.

I contacted Thatch Cover after my current policy had risen by 42% in 2 years. Of course, I was trying to get a better renewal cost. Adam at Thatch Cover was very knowledgeable, listening closely to what I wanted, why, and patiently taking all the relevant details. Timing was pretty tight - I'd been trying to get a better insurance price for around 3 weeks but only heard about Thatch Cover a few days before I needed to renew.

Adam kept me updated as he got quotations, finding a considerably lower, like-for-like renewal the day before my current insurance expired.

Although the total cost was slightly higher than the renewal quotation from my existing insurer,the big difference is that this cost from Thatch Cover included a CCTV chimney survey and a professional rebuilding evaluation. That gives me the piece of mind that the sum insured is industry-recognised and I won't face a nasty shock if I ever have a major loss and then discover the buildings sum-insured (reconstruction cost) is appropriate. The CCTV chimney survey and rebuilding evaluation last for some years so my won't have to be included in my renewal next year.

I'm very glad that I was steered towards Thatch Cover - finding insurance for thatched properties can be difficult and Adam did pretty much all the work for me.
