I have just completed the HLTA course and have to say the tutors are amazing. They were incredible at providing advice, answering questions quickly and helping me to adapt my daily roles and routines to meet the criteria.
The reason for knocking one star off is due to waiting 4 months to receive a digital version of my certificate, after chasing them 4 times and finally to be informed there would be a charge to recieve a paper version.

I worked with the most supportive tutor who was always there for any questions I had and was extremely quick to mark any work, I never felt unsupported. The team are brilliant, I would absolutely recommend them to anyone wishing to further their education!

The course material was easy to use, there was example answers to give you an idea of how to style your answer if you are stuck, the tutor provides good feedback and is easy to contact. I really enjoyed doing the course with UK Open College. I only knocked a star off because I had to chase where my certificate was after someone made a mistake and hadn’t put in that I had completed it. I’m sure that is a rare mistake and it was rectified very swiftly when I phoned them.
I would definitely use UK Open College again.

I have just completed my HLTA course. It was a one year course. I have learnt a lot of skills throughout this course and have put them in practice whilst working. All the information and guidance given by college was a great help and was thoroughly explained by the assigned tutor. The tutor assigned to me is very knowledgeable and always happy to answer questions and any issues related to the course. She was very patient with me and always motivated me to keep going and completed my tasks.

Just to make anyone reading this aware, I have received no contact from UK Open College despite their response to my original post below. Really poor service and I would advise anyone to use an alternative learning provider.

I had Zoe Wheatley as my tutor and she was excellent, giving advice and feedback to improve my work that were easy to follow and meant I wasn’t wasting my time trying to guess the criteria. She replied quickly to any questions I had and is an amazing tutor. I had to extend my course due to external factors preventing me from completing the work on time, the college were easy to reach on the phone and the lady I spoke to was efficient and lovely, with the 6 extra months being added on for only £99.
The booklets sent were useful and held a lot of the information I needed to complete the course, a lot of information was also on the website. As someone who has never done coursework before, this was very useful, as well as having Zoe to support me.

I am doing my level 2 Early Years Practitioner with UK Open College. With a 2-year-old son at home, I struggle to do an early years course in a offline approach. The online course that UK Open College offers allows me to learn in my own pace and in my free time. I have learned a lot during the course.

The online learning platform has many useful information that I can learn about being an early years practitioner. Although not all the resources are up to date and a small part of the them can be categorized a bit better.

I was quite struggling in the beginning of the course because my first tutor always got back to me very slowly and gave me very limited advice. I was very disappointed and doubted about I would be able to get the qualification within the time that I expected. Then I was allocated a new tutor Jill. Jill is very helpful! She is always willing to give me advice and get back to me very quickly. Now I am much much more confident about completing the course in the time I want.

I am doing my level 2 childcare with ukopen, I was allocated another tutor ( Jill ) halfway my course. She is very helpful and marks my work promptly.

All of the work is easily accessible and the online portal is simple and easy to use. The induction was informative in telling us how to do everything and whenever we had questions my supervisor was usually quick to answer. The content of the course is organised and delivered well. The video's give you a nice introduction while the core and extended reading feature a lot of good sources and material to help with completing the theory work. My supervisor was very good at getting my marked work back to me so quickly which was really helpful. There were usually good comments attached which helped me to improve my answers and be consistent with my formatting across the theory work. Overall, i'm happy with the course because it allowed me to complete it at the pace I wanted to. Because you are allowed to pick your own placement supervisor this meant I could choose somebody well suited to my way of working and again helped with the pacing and the delivery of the practical elements of the course.

I have completed my nanny course through uk open college. I have recommend them to family and friends. My tutor was always on hand to answer my questions. I'm very happy with my results.

I have recently completed the Specialist Support in Teaching & Learning level 3 diploma. I was allocated a new assessor, Vivienne, halfway through my course who was extremely helpful and always replied promptly to any emails or queries I had. She worked hard to help me with the remainder of my course to ensure I completed in time. I'm considering completing the HLTA level 4 in a few months and would recommend UK open college to anyone considering completing a course from the comfort of their own home.

I have just enrolled my daughter to complete an autism course to help with her professional development. I set up to pay monthly and received a phone call from Bill to set this up.

Bill was like a breath of fresh air, he was friendly, told me exactly what I needed to know and I could have chatted to him all day long!

Being enrolled was abit of a hassle and met a few speed bumps throughout my course with my first tutor. My work went unmarked and emails ignored. But then I was assigned a new tutor they were able to promptly mark and support me through the rest of my course. The student enquiries were quick to support me. Making studying an online course a breeze. It’s nice to be able to take the course at your own pace without constant deadlines. Found the resources a little bit lacking but once I’d ordered myself some textbooks I was able to complete my work easily.

I recently completed the TA Level 3 Diploma with SEN. I found the resources for studying online really helpful and accessible. The structure of the course allowed me to work at my own pace and to cover the assignments in the order which I chose. My tutor Kaye Leeming was really helpful. Her comments and further direction was always constructive and turnaround time on marking was super quick. With this experience I have gone on to study for the HLTA qualification.

I was an addict for over 20 years, spent 9 years in prison, 6 of them years in 4 Venezuelan prisons. I have been clean for over 5 years but I am diagnosed with CPTSD. I decided to use my past to help other addicts, I have the experience and the empathy but I needed to learn how to apply it and that's where this course helped me. I learnt so much about various mental health problems which can lead to addiction, self harm and suicide and how to use the skills to help an individual that is struggling. My tutor was very helpful, she checked up on me regularly and with every unit I submitted she gave a clear and insightful feedback. I finally have my certificate and looking forward to doing the level 3.

TQUK Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools.
I did the course mentioned above through Open College UK. It was between October 2021 and December 2022. For me, the best part is that I had the material to use for the course and also my tutor Zoe, who was very helpful. I often contacted my tutor whenever I had problems or needed clarification about my tasks. Learning was also flexible, especially given the personal circumstances I had to deal with during my study period. The support I got was beneficial, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Open College UK to anyone looking for a place to study. I am so thankful for the opportunity to study at this great institution.

I started my course last month and I am very happy with the support I have been receiving. my tutor checks in on me to see how I am doing and always messages me back quickly if I need to ask a question. It was lovely to have a zoom call at the begnining to put a face to a name and for the tutors to explain the process. I would definately recommed this course to anyone who is wanting to study at home in their own time.

I signed up for the Level 3 course on childminding in the home after realising I wsa going to have to think creatively about the future to avoid putting my son into day nursery 3.5 days a week at 9 months old in order to earn just enough money to pay for it. It was a great decision and I'm getting a lot out of the course so far. My tutor Jill gave a friendly, clear and efficient introductory video-call to the course and has also carefully read and quickly given feedback on my written work. I'm finding the resources provided on the course (videos, powerpoints, quizzes, articles, etc) have taught me a lot not just about childminding but simply about parenting that I didn't know before. Highly recommend this for anyone caught in the same dilemma, or anyone who wants to keep their options open.

I have recently completed the TQUK L3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning with the UK Open College. I am just awaiting sign off by the IQA. I found the course interesting and informative and my tutor kaye Leeming was supportive all the way through my learning journey. I would highly recommend this course.

Been doing my level 3 SEN teaching assistant course for 2 months now, I am really enjoying it. I put off doing it for years thinking I wouldn't be able to do it but uk open college have made it all so easy. My tutor is lovely gives me honest feedback and helps me progress if I'm struggling. I can work at my own pace from home which is lovely too. I can't recommend them enough. Already thinking which course to do next.
