I have completed my TQUK Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in schools. It took me more than 15 months due to the Covid lockdown. I am very happy with customer service as they have addressed my concerns very quickly.
After completing all my assignments, I was told 4 months later that some changes were required in my specific assignments. That was very frustrating.

The online support I received during my HLTA level 4 was fantastic. After a bit of a poor start to the year with a bereavement, I paid for a 6month extension that ensured I settled down and completed it. Gemma was a great assessor and was always punctual with her responses and clear feedback. I have only marked it down to four stars and not five, as I had a few incidents with wrong information on a few questions. I asked for paper copy which I received but one of the questions was missing. There were also questions that said could be completed as a question and answer sheet with your QTS teacher but it didn’t say it was compulsory. Maybe the paperwork could be checked as some earlier copies had obviously been updated. Thank you to all especially the online support desk.

I have just signed up for the A level law course Andrew was very helpful in explaining everything thoroughly to me.
Would highly recommend and the price was very reasonable.

Avoid. They contracted our GCSE course out to a third party provider who has abruptly ceased trading and taken all our content with them. We were around 2/3rds of the way through the course. UK Open College has issued a refund but essentially abandoned students. This was totally avoidable if they'd had a better contract with the third party and had ownership/access to the content that they were supposed to be providing us with.

I have studied with them and completed my Supporting Learning and Teaching Level 3. The average time to complete was 11 months but I managed in around 9 thanks to their fantastic support and prompt marking of assignments.
I found the process of enrolling smooth and fast. The monthly payment option was just what I needed. Then assignments were always marked to a high standard and well within the time frames stated. I never felt like I didn't understand what I needed to do. The learning portal explains everything very well too.
I am looking at doing my higher level teaching qualification at some point in the future and I will be doing it with the UK open college as I have had a fantastic experience.

I have recently Studied an Alevel accounting course with Ukopencollege, subject material had many mistakes and hadn’t been updated in years (expired links). Tutor was mainly unavailable and despite the 1 working day reply policy often took weeks to reply. The college never actually sorted these issues within the year of study. I was promised a partial refund of £50 which I never actually received.
Although I got the grade I needed in order to go to my first choice university this was all on my own back due to the massive lack of help from the tutor and college.
Overall I would definitely avoid using them. The course is massively overpriced for the experience that you receive.

Absolutely awful, I payed for my course and completed in in October and after many phone calls where I was told each time somebody would call me back but never did I managed to get an email response around December saying it will be February at the latest! But in July I still hadn’t heard absolutely anything so after many emails and being told on live chat somebody will sort it but didn’t for weeks I finally got a message saying a certificate had been shipped nearly 8 months late! Appalling customer service!

Really enjoyed my course clear and concise. Tutors and all staff of uk open college were excellent, if I had any questions, queries they were quick to answer. I would highly recommend. Thanks uk open college.

I retrained as a teaching assistant following nearly 20 years as a team leader with a big bank which had over time become incompatible with family life. Having been a TA for a few years now I decided to see if I still had it in me to undertake a higher level course which may ultimately lead to me becoming a primary school teacher. I decided to test the water and do my level 4 course initially to see how I got on, (working and 4 children aren't that conducive to learning!). I looked around and found several firms offering a level 4 higher level Teaching Assistant course, having investigated these I decided upon UKOpencollege, although not the cheapest option they appeared to suit my needs/requirements. I wasn't wrong, the course paperwork arrived quickly and was very helpful, although obviously you still need to research a lot on the internet, use your prior experience, and get buy in from your/a school as they have a lot of input. The course was a heady mix of theory and on the job reflections/Q&A sessions/witness statements. My tutor Penny guided me through the assignments and these were returned with very constructive comments to take onboard for the next piece of work, or comprehensive pointers where I needed to add greater depth to answer the question. My dealings with admin have been fully met and answers provided quickly and professionally. The length of time given to complete the course is more that adequate although you do need to be a self starter as you are not chased for outstanding work. All in all a great experience, I loved the course which has taught me a lot and I have even been offered an HLTA position since passing it. I thoroughly recommend UKOpenCollege, I only wish they offered a level 5 course !

The course allowed me to work at my own pace and fit assignments round my work placement in school. The tutor was very prompt and helpful with responses when I required assistance with coursework.

I found the process of starting my course cey hassle free. I paid for my course on the phone to a very friendly and helpful man. The coursework and paperwork came in the post a few days later. Everything was very easy to understand and professional looking. I have received my certificate of completion for my first course and have progressed onto my level 2 now. I would highly recommend UK open college to anyone looking for extra qualifications or to start a new career. Thank you

The coursework gave me the independence to do my modules at my personal pace, and the freedom to include inputs from my own work experience which I found to be very uplifting. The tutors are very supportive and responds quickly for any queries regarding the modules.

I found the course very interesting and useful. The staff at the college were very helpful. Unfortunately, I had 3 different tutors in 6 months. While my tutors were supportive and helpful, the inconsistency in what they were looking for was tricky. Furthermore, my tutor sent me someone else’s comments instead of my own by accident. However, I would recommend this course to other people.
