A warranty worth having

Genuinely the claim process is easy and the team at WSG Ltd WANT to help. I've never used the claim process before and was a bit concerned that they would be like an insurance company with lots of red tape and hoops to jump through but it simply isn't the case. As soon as I had a fault with my car I advised WSG straight away and they sent me a really easy guide on how to process the claim, step by step, no tricks, no hidden Ts&C's, the garage communicated with them directly and then WSG called me to ensure I fully understood the process and what I needed to do. The only thing you need to remember is to advise them FIRST before any repairs are completed to make sure the repair is authorised by them, after that make sure all invoices to be made out to Warranty Solutions Ltd (or you won't get the VAT paid), but just tell them as soon as a fault appears on your vehicle. Simple. Great service and a great product.

Great service

I was a little dubious about using a third party warranty provider, however having had to claim on my warranty I have to say WSG and in particular ‘Matt’ have been exceptional and have made the claim process pretty painless throughout. Thank you!

'MJ' is refusing to pay for the bulk of…

'MJ' is refusing to pay for the bulk of our bill.

Be very careful if using this company (pick more reputable warranty providers). MJ is refusing to pay for 70% of invoice because the technician, didn't approve certain individual parts & labour. We are therefore left to cover the cost, so essentially don't have warranty anyway. Really poor for communication and very slippery.

Expected much better, but sadly not surprised.

Please feel free to respond with a resolution, although no doubt it will be some wishy washy, "it's in the small print" response.

We are sorry to read your review.
With all claims, faults must be reported within 7 days of occurrence and when correctly diagnosed with the actual cause, raised with the claims department, so that the claim can be reviewed before the repair(s) are completed without authority.

With regards to the concern raised in January 2026, the cause for the vehicle cutting out was diagnosed as the starter motor, dated the 14th February 2026. Your claims engineer Michael J, on the same day replied to an email asking for the vehicle's mileage, the technician's report, the diagnostic results, and any available diagnostic trouble codes, in order to review prior to completion.

Information requested was emailed and received on the 23rd February 2026. It was at this point that the chosen repairer identified that the starter motor was on back order from the manufacturer BMW, and also advised there was no parts delivery date.

Being proactive, Michael J then started to investigate if we could find and nominate the part supply to help. As with all claims, WSG Ltd reserve the right to nominate the supplier of the part, however we respect that the vehicle is not ours and if the warranty holder wants a main dealer part(s) we will gladly pay towards the main dealer part(s) at what we would expect to pay.

Michael J located a genuine S E G BMW X5 Starter/Generator to keep the repairs moving and reunite the vehicle with the warranty holder. The claim was authorised at the following costs.

Diagnosis £150.50 inc VAT, Starter motor and carriage £1260.00 inc VAT, labour to fit the starter motor £243.00 inc VAT and a required software update as part of the starter motor fitment at £84.00 inc VAT. Total claim liability accepted and authorised £1737.50-part, labour and VAT.

The starter motor authority was issued in an email dated the 5th March 2026. From the point of the authorisation, WSG Ltd was awaiting the invoice of the repairs. The invoice was received dated the 17th April 2026.

Michael J, having reviewed the invoice, noted extra charges and parts for the vehicle. The invoice received clarified that the break reaction arms had been renewed without any contact to WSG. In light that we were not aware, had not reviewed, or authorised the break reaction arms prior to repairs, the parts and labour was declined.

We also note that the invoice contained costs for the vehicles 12- & 24-volt battery tests and an MOT precheck. When checking these costs (costs not covered by the warranty), we referred to check the GOV UK website and note that your vehicle has no current MOT, which expired on the 25th March 2026.

Knowing that we have gladly accepted liability for the starter motor renewal, please accept our apologies that we have not met your expectations in relation for the suspension repairs completed that you authorised.
