As a single traveller with a desire to do this trip before age/confidence persuaded me otherwise, I couldn’t have chosen a better company.
Every question/ itinerary change was handled so well by a team who obviously know their destinations so well.
It proved to be everything I wished for .. and more.
The organisation, personnel in all the places I visited and coordination of the trip was ‘five stars’ throughout .
I’m so thrilled that I finally got to the Atacama Desert … it was astounding!

We are just back from The Best of Costa Rica Tour with the Corcorvado Coast extension.

Everything was brilliantly organised from beginning to end. Even before we travelled, we received useful information on our itinerary and excursions from Llama Travel and we particularly liked the information booklet which gave details on each of the locations we were visiting and what to expect and take etc.

All of the hotels recommended by Llama Travel were great and really fit the bill and captured the essence of the area. We upgraded to the Marriot in San Jose, which was a great recommendation by Llama Travel, as we were able to avoid the San Jose traffic.

Jocelyn, our main guide in Costa Rica was knowledgeable, helpful, and very smiley! We were impressed with the seamless transporation and organisation within Costa Rica. The excursions were good. We saw some amazing wildlife and even enjoyed zip-lining across the rainforest canopy.

We particularly enjoyed our extension to Corcovado. The internal flight and transfer to the hotel was a highlight. Aguila de Osa was an amazing place to stay and the National Park excursion was incredible.

This was our second tour with Llama Travel and we would not hesitate to recommend them.

Just back from the Best of Costa Rica & Manuel Antonio tour, our fifth trip with Llama Travel. It was a very enjoyable tour & Costa Rica has a lot to offer, especially the opportunity to spot wildlife.

There is a lot of travelling & some full on days which with the heat & humidity can be tiring.

The hotels were all of a good standard, however the D Sabano (previously Park Inn) was a central hotel & was subject to the gridlock that affects downtown San Jose - we were stuck in traffic for at least an hour on both days we stayed there. With hindsight we probably would have upgraded to the Marriott which was closer to the airport & so avoided traffic problems.

We had several guides during our tour, all were very pleasant, some very knowledgeable & some less so. All the drivers were good & we felt safe at all times.

We enjoyed all the additional excursions that we had booked, the only one that fell a little short was the morning & evening walks in the Cloud Forest at Villa Blanca - we just didn't see much in the way of wildlife.

There were a total of 22 people in our group, the largest number we have ever experienced whilst travelling with Llama. However, not everyone did the additional excursions & after Tortuguero we were divided into 2 smaller groups.

A great tour to Costa Rica.
Everything was perfect from being met at the airport to being taken back for the return flight.
Our main guide, Jocelyn, was excellent, as were the local guides. The transport/transfers between hotels was good and as advised- really well organised.
Cannot fault the hotels/food/location/excursions at all.
Llama travel were always quick to answer any queries we had before travel and I would not hesitate to travel with them again if they go to our next destination. The " pick and mix" style ensures you only do what you want and gives the option of hotel upgrades if required-although the included hotels, as I have said, could not be faulted.

We used Llama on recommendation of a friend. The whole holiday experience from start to finish was excellent. Llama offered a tailor made holiday truly delivered. We were able to see the wonders of Chile, Argentina & Brazil in a perfectly balanced holiday. Llama are true masters in delivering a truly memorable holiday experience. I will be using them again.

A recent trip to Sri Lanka with Llama was incredible from beginning to end - a short notice change to the booking was made seamlessly by Gary and every part of the holiday ran like clockwork. The wonderful team in Sri Lanka ensured we saw and experienced everything on the itinerary and more - our Guide and Driver were superb. Will aim to travel with Llama again and am spreading the word.

Fabulous tour to Chile, Argentina, Patagonia and Brazil ran like clockwork! Every guide so informative and helpful and great fun !! Hotels out of this world but then we did upgrade but, honestly, seeing the other hotels used they were also superb according to others in our very small group.
Already looking at another tour with Llama and mention them to everyone.

We went with Llama to costa rica and everything ran like clockwork. A super busy itinerary with lots of pick ups, transfers, excursions and location changes and it was seamless. The travel guide companies used were friendly, reliable and down to earth, and the accomodation was almost all really good and with character apart from the in-transit city hotel for airport drop offs and pickups. We also tweaked the dates slightly to accomodate a scotland departure rather than london and that was easy too. Highly recommended.

Our third experience away with Llama Travel was our best yet. We didn't notice the fairly basic conditions while we lived in the tents as we were looked after incredibly well by the extremely hard working camp staff who anticipated our every need.
Our guide KG was superb and made sure we were in the right place at the right time taking our preferences into account. Highlights included giraffes fighting, huge prides of lions with their tiny cubs, a leopard that went right under our vehicle, elephants so close we could have touched them and the hyena we heard breathing outside our tent at night. We were truly immersed in the wildlife!
The Victoria Falls were amazing, even though they were at their lowest flow of the year and the sunset cruise on the Zambezi was spectacular, we even saw elephants actually swimming across the river!
Overall got to see three distinctly different areas of Botswana and a taste of Zimbabwe and we were looked after so well from start to finish, as we have come to expect from Llama. There is a lot of travelling involved and an extra night at some of the lodges would have been welcome as we packed such a lot into the 2 weeks but have made some lifelong memories.

We really enjoyed our tour of Capetown, the Garden Route, and the Gondwana safari (in a non- malaria area) - we might even go so far as to say that it may have been our best holiday ever, and we have 5/6 a year, so that is saying a lot. Everything worked like clockwork (apart from the tablecloth on Table Mountain, but we managed to go up two days later under fantastic blue skies). The organisation was amazing, with all drivers/transfers turning up exactly on time and all tours and hotels were just as described. Drivers and guides were excellent - knowledgeable, personable and safe.

Through the booking process and the intervening period up until the tour commenced, the UK team were very helpful and prompt in responding to all queries.

The optional excursions were well chosen and we are pleased we selected them all - really enhanced our experience.

We only upgraded for the Cape Town hotel, for reasons of location, but all other hotels were very good. The safari accommodation was excellent.

We cannot recommend Llama Travel highly enough and are looking for our next experience.

I’ve just returned from Chile+Argentina+Tierra del Fuego trip with Llama Travel - the first time I’ve been with them, and I hope it won’t be the last. From start to finish the trip was perfectly organised. Their London office team were great, and all the local guides likewise.
The individual tours were brilliant - true, I was very lucky with the weather. The hotels were good. The visit to Ushuaia a particular bonus - few other companies offered it.
I’ve travelled widely over many years, but without a doubt this trip ranks as one of the very best.

Having not used Llama travel before, I became aware of you after extensive research on the internet. Although most adventures to Botswana came out at a similar cost, Llama are the only company whose price included the international flights.

Accepting that the standard of service would be an unknown, we decided to book with Llama.

What a surprise!

From the outset (booking and making some amendments to the stated itinerary) the level of service and communication have been exemplary. As the departure date approached, I had a few detailed questions about the holiday, namely:
Would our bags be checked through from Heathrow to Main (ie. Transferred at Johannesburg)?
What currency would we need for Botswana?
The Arrival form to be completed at Main?

All my enquiries were replied to comprehensively and in a matter of hours. A level of service that I much appreciated.

Throughout the holiday, everyone we encountered were courteous, informed and extremely helpful. All transfers were punctual, comfortable and our bags were dealt with for us.

The lodges and rooms were comfortable, had all the necessary amenities and all meals were of a very high standard.

Having selected a mobile, tented safari with Letaka, we were somewhat surprised to find the level of comfort that was provided. Our Guide (Vincent) deserves a special mention. He met us at the Khwai airstrip and from that point onwards, he attended to our every need. He was with us for the full 6 days and was extremely knowledgable about the wildlife, plants and culture of the country. The other members of the Letaka team were similarly efficient, courteous and did everything they could to make it an unforgettable experience. Our chef, De Clerk produced a stunning array of food from his camp kitchen and we still don’t quite believe it!

Coincidentally, when in Victoria Falls, we met a woman who was on her third Llama travel holiday. During our conversation, it became apparent that our experience was not just a one-off. She was similarly impressed with the value for money and level of service provided by Llama.

This was the most wonderful holiday to Costa Rica. We traveled to San Jose then spent time in Tortuguero, La Fortuna, the Cloud Forest and finally Manuel Antonio. All the hotels were of a very high standard, set in the rainforest in Tortuguero, at the foot of the Arenal volcano, in the misty cloud forest and on the edge of the Manuel Antonio National Park. The wildlife was thrilling and abundant and our guides , Diego, Jorge, Ronny and Brandon were absolutely outstanding without exception. Their love for their country and staggering knowledge about the fauna and flora was truly inspirational. Activities were extremely well organised and reasonably priced, exhilarating zip lining, guided day and night walks in the jungle, boat trips through primary rainforest and a once in a lifetime whale watching trip were particular highlights.
The service from Llama was brilliant. They were very helpful when enquiries arose and the holiday ran like clockwork meaning we could relax and enjoy this most beautiful country.

We have just come back from Costa Rica, having completed the 11 days Best of Costa Rica tour. Wow!! What an experience, everything was perfect, an amazing experience professionally put together with great attention to details. Otto and the Llama team were very communicative and supportive whilst booking the holiday, the same fantastic level of customer service continued throuout the holiday. All the guides were very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. All the accommodations were great and the tours were fantastic.
What a way to celebrate my 50th birthday! We have had a blast and made lifelong memories. One regret ... not having booked the extension trip to Manuel Antonio...but hey one way to remediate ... book another trip with Llama Travel!

We have just arrived home from the most wonderful holiday exploring Peru. Huge thanks to Otto and the team at Llama Travel for the expert and faultless organisation of our trip. They were able to easily taylor the trip exactly how we wanted it, changing excursions and hotels to suit our needs, even at short notice when we requested to stay an extra night at Machu Picchu only a few weeks before the holiday! The tour guides in Peru were all very friendly and knowledgable (special shout out to Rosalio, our guide for four days through the Sacred Valley, the Short Inca Trail and Machu Picchu, he was incredible!) This trip was a real dream come true for my husband’s 50th birthday and we will not hesitate to book through Llama Travel for our next adventure!

The team at Llama Travel were very friendly and helpful in relation to booking our trip to Ecuador and The Galapagos. They gave advice and suggestions and were happy to tweak the itinerary, change dates and flights until we were completely happy with the holiday. This was our first trip with Llama Travel to Argentina, Brazil and Peru. We received really good service firstly from the office in London and the organisation and guides in Latin America were first class. All extremely knowledgeable with brilliant English, but also friendly and enjoyable company, caring for all our needs. The hotels were good, all in very good locations and our itinerary gave us so many great experiences and memories. Thank you Llama Travel.... we are already thinking about our next trip with you!
