No Delivery; No Refund

I ordered a Mark Ryden backpack for a specific event. Backpack never delivered; kept being returned to shipper. Since it had shipped, the company refused to give me a refund. The shipper has the product and my money.

As we wrote you by email, I looked into the issue with your recent delivery and confirmed with the carrier that your package was delivered to your address on July 5th. I've attached proof of delivery and a photo for you to check out, showing that the backpack has been delivered.

Please review any security footage or activity around your home to see if someone might have taken the package. For more details, you might want to reach out to the carrier directly or contact local authorities.

Reaching out to customer and apologize if necessary.

Reaching out the me as customer is very important to me. That is what they did well.
What was less or even bad, was the fact that i paid online, only to receive a mail later that shipment to my location was not possible and that I had to pay an additional fee. I was not even offered the option to opt out. (cancel my order and receive my money again)
I was under the impression that if I had not pay the additional fee, I would lose my investment.
If that was not enough, I was reminded 3 different times (via email) while I already made the additional payment.
When I finally responded with a copy of my payment, there was no apology whatsoever. Just that the payment was received and that the bag was on its way.

From that point on, it went smooth again. The product was received in good order.
I still think that it was way too expensive for what I received.

We purchased 2 carry ons & 1 backpack and we love the craftsmanship, material, configuration, etc. Sorry RipCurl; I have found my last backpack I will ever buy

It’s worst experience ever

It’s worst experience ever . There is no good communication, late response to email and the employee are rude . Procrastinated delivery, product is not of a good quality , it’s is a drop shipping company . My response was based on your reaction to my email . And you are talking about a delivery timeframe , i can accept the delivery within 10-14 days that’s why i choose standard delivery you don’t have to teach me which option to choose from but you pathetic company didn’t give any tracking information even after 7days of purchase which is rare . Your email response and tracking number to my rude messages on the email then you send me the tracking infos which states the delivery date 30 days from the date of purchase . I didn’t know your standard delivery is 30days . There are lots of good backpack brand which does their job ethically . Look at your customer reviews it clearly reflects your action . Think before you justify yourself, bogus company .

Welcome Discount: Despite you not applying the welcome discount during your initial purchase, we still honored your request to apply it after. This was done to accommodate you, even though it was against our standard policy.

Order Processing and Shipping Times: Our website transparently states that order processing takes 1-2 days, and delivery with economy standard shipping, which you selected, takes 10-18 days. You placed your order on May 14th, and it was delivered on May 24th, well within the stated timeframe.

Urgency and Deadlines: If your order was urgent, express shipping was available. You chose not to use it. Your decision to select standard shipping does not constitute negligence on our part.

Customer Service: Your assertion that our team was rude is unfounded. In fact, your own emails were quite demanding and threatening:

"Hi, Where is my order?
"It’s already been 24hrs, why haven’t you dispatched my order? This is pathetic and reckless. You going to get the worst review."

We believe in treating our customers with respect, but that respect must be mutual. Your threatening tone and unreasonable demands do not facilitate a productive dialogue.

We stand by the quality of our service and the professionalism of our team. If you have further issues or if there's anything else we can assist you with, please let us know.

Has Potential

Dislikes:
My item arrived with two blemishes on the face of the bag. It incurred damage because the item was shipped in a plastic bag, without protection. There were zippers within the bag that were not YKK materials. The pouch at the top of the bag is too small, the hole where that pouch unzips is noticeably longer than the pouch itself. The logo on the bags handle is iron on material that won’t last.

Likes:
The bag’s overall appearance, the YKK materials, the buckle system.

Forward thoughts:
I am considering a large order for corporate use. I would like to know that those items won’t be damaged during shipping, will possess all YKK zippers, and will display corporate logos in embroidery or something more durable than iron-on or similar materials.

The quality seems good

The quality seems good. Design is as I expected.

It is even better if the zipper is designed to be
(more tighten) combined with a padlock.

I purchased the Odyssey backpack with a lock…

I purchased the Odyssey backpack with a lock directly from Mark Ryden in October 2023. The lock stopped working this month, and I sent numerous emails to customer service without any resolution. A backpack at that price point should perform better, and we should expect better customer service. Order #13577

The following has been added on 3/17/24 in response to the reply by Mark Ryden:
As shared in my email correspondence with Mark Ryden, the backpack Odyssey was purchased through Mark Ryden Canada and I have been communicating via email with both USA & Canada office without a resolution for weeks.

The backpack purchased is Odyssey and is still available on the Mark Ryden Canada website. This review did not allow me to post a link to the backpack

Regardless of where the product was purchased, the manufacturer should stand by it, especially a premium product like these backpacks. A run around by customer service is not appreciated.

Beautiful and useful backpack

It’s a beautiful backpack with a lot of useful pockets.
I have the limit model for daily use and I am delighted that is why I ordered the Yale model to my girlfriend who also loves her new backpack.
