Customer service , no reply to emails , no one answered the phone and did not get back to me after leaving a message. Delivery took four weeks. Gate was okay but not perfect.

Delivery date not met. Poor to no communication initiated by them. When the gate eventually arrived they had sent the wrong design (cheaper design). I eventually got them to collect the incorrect gate four days ago and they agreed to a full refund. Refund not received to date. I would not recommend.

Gate came damaged ...the top metal on gate arrived rusty ...took 6 weeks to get gate even though they said on website allow 10 days for delivery ...took another month for them to collect ...and another 5 weeks to get a refund ....never again

I saw a facebook advert selling pedestrian garden gates, at a very reasonable price, very near to me. I messaged to check the gates were still available and verify the price. I got a very quick reply via Messenger - Yes they were, and the price was confirmed. We drove over in our lunch hour, and Shane met us in the car park and showed us the selection of gates available. He explained they were all bespoke gates that had either not been collected or had been returned - this was very much a gain for us!
We looked through 7 or 8 gates and found one that suited us in both style and size. Shane was very helpful with that and carried the gate to our car. We drove away very happy customers! I'd recommend popping in if you want a quick friendly helpful service.

AVOID AVOID AVOID. Terrible company, very rude. I spent weeks of emails and phonecalls to get a refund for damaged goods that I turned away at the door. Staff are rude and very unprofessional. Please go elsewhere.

Ordered a gate through Amazon and they em saying it was despatched 2 days later. MD Carpentry states 2 weeks from order. I chased delivery date after 2 weeks and they said there is a 4 week delivery date so after 4 weeks I kept chasing MD with no reply. I got fed up with waiting so I cancelled my order and got full refund. Fortunately I ordered through Amazon otherwise I think I would have had problems with MD Carpentry.
Ordered gate through another supplier and got delivery within 3 days.

Having ordered gates on 7th July I recieved an email stating they would be delivered on the 21st July. They did not arrive. I chased and was advised the email was sent by B&Q in error. It would be 3 to 4 weeks for delivery from when I ordered. Then told 4 to 5 weeks and we would be told a couple of days before of delivery time etc. We are at the five week point and and as there was no sign of the gates I thought I would chase at the end of the week. UPDATE: Yesterday, whilst I was at work, my wife messaged me to say they had arrived. Got home and found only one gate had arrived and the quality was poor. Having belatedly looked at the reviews the issues with non-delivery and poor quality are common themes. I have messaged B&Q and asked if they have seen the reviews, The website says they do look at reviews to ensure quality. I would suggest not as MD are they still selling through B&Q. I have asked for the item to be returned and a full refund. I will see what happens.

If I could rate this company zero I would, firstly the item I ordered was very late in arriving, this is after two phone calls where I was clearly lied to about the expected delivery date. Secondly when the gate arrived it was exceptionally bad quality, extremely poorly made and undersized. Thirdly I have contacted the company regarding the return of the item and requesting a full refund but I am still waiting for a response, I would strongly recommend that nobody uses this company, they state on their website customer care and expert craftsmanship, this very clearly isn’t the case, I will be talking with my card provider regarding a refund

Update 14th August 15.35pm. Having been in touch via B&Q's verified sellers contact page, I have now been able to cancel my order and get a refund. My first message to MD had asked for clarification on delivery date... the reply was back in 3 hrs and I would have to wait 4 or 5 weeks minimum. Bearing in mind that this is not a custom gate but a standard one off the shelf so to speak and my house goes on the market before the delivery date. My second message therefore asked to cancel and have a refund. I am probably less patient than some of the people on here. (I paid and ordered a garden gate via B&Q 1st August fully aware that the estimated delivery time was 10th - 13th August. 7th August email from B&Q saying that the order had been dispatched, and today 14th August still nothing. I cannot raise the company by phone or email.) I have amended my star rating but I still consider this a relatively poor service having to wait for something off the shelf that other suppliers can supply in less than a week.

This company sold me damaged fencing so i refused delivery and emailed them. After blocking my emails they sent the same fencing back to me. I'm now going through trading standards and my bank as fraud. YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR MONEY BACK OFF THIS COMPANY

Ordered a gate from them 7 weeks ago now... still no sign of it (imagine my shock reading all the other reviews).

I've had to proactively message them to chase multiple times and I just receive empty apologies and it'll be another 1-2 weeks each time.

It would be quicker to learn carpentry and make one myself at this rate.

Not holding my breath that I actually get what I ordered or that's it's good quality.

Go literally anywhere else.

We made an order. Nothing arrived for a month.. then after considerable pressure from
Ourselves a single gardengate of 70cm arrived. We had ordered a 3 metre double gate ie two gates of 150cm which was 6 foot high
We are trying to get our refund.
It is impossible to get the phone answered
No one responds on the odd occasion you manage

I have ordered 2, 4 foot garden gates from you (order no: 6349 date; 29th July 2026).

Have received 1 gate (not the 2 I ordered) the gate was dropped in front of my house and is 6 foot tall!
Not 4 foot as ordered!

Please can you arrange collection of the wrong size gate and confirm when I should expect delivery of the 2 four foot gates I have ordered please.

I have left a voicemail too, as there was no answer when I called. Please can someone contact me as soon as possible regarding this. Thank you.

It's the custom that is keeping you going!!! Taking customers money, sending wrong or no orders at all!!!
Just poor business!!!

Delivery took nearly 4 weeks to arrive, Lack of communication of order progress and had to chase response on several occassions. At time of order website showed 7 to 10 days, which is clearly not correct. Delivery company used only dropped one gate until i said there should be two which was in the van. On inspection workmanship is not best, over cut to style, rough edges and fraying where timber cut, generally needs a clear up and sand over prior to protection coating. Not joinery quality in summary (I know joinery quality as work in construction industry) thankfully unlikely to have to approach them again

Like most of the recent reviews my experience with MD Carpentry has been terrible.

I placed an order on the 22nd of June with the website stipulating 8-10 days delivery. When I didn’t hear anything I called and was told it was going to be dispatched on the 13th of July to be delivered any day that week; I asked for this to be changed to the week after as I would be away, and i was told a note was made of this.

I then get an email on the 13th of July saying the gate has been dispatched, however two weeks later there was still no sign of the gate and no one was answering the phone. I sent a letter citing my consumer rights to a refund if an item is not delivered within 30 days of the order; there’s been no response to this email, so another 2 weeks later I have had to dispute the payment through my bank to get a refund.

I would advise anyone who’s waiting on an order to just ask AI to write you an email requesting a refund after 30 days citing your consumer rights, and be done with this company. It’s genuinely baffling how they don’t seem to care that their company is getting bad reviews and from reading their responses there is not a single apology, rather finding excuses or denying peoples claims. All of us saying we have had emails ignored can’t be lying.

What a terrible company!!! I order some driveway gates on the 1st July for a 5-10 day delivery. By the 15th they did not arrive so I phoned and asked them why, I got the usual response of short staff, busy, problems in the shop etc ect and was told I would get them between 20th and 27th July. Still they did not arrive so I phoned again demanding a refund as I needed them before a certain day…a lady called Sarah phoned me back and said she had contacted the workshop and they would be made and despatched on the Thursday for delivery Friday and guess what no gates obviously they are shut at the weekend and then they turned up on Monday morning. I had people waiting to fit them on Saturday as per the agreement ( which I got in writing) so I had to pay £50 as they had cancelled another job to be at my house.. I have sent 3/4 emails explaining this saying the least they could have was reimburse me the £50 so far I have heard nothing!!! A rotten company to the core😡😡😡

Had a refund processed email, queried it politely as had nothing about issues. Got a very short reply „ Item not currently in stock“

No apology not even signed. That is the epitome of bad customer service.

worst company ever bought gates via amazon. didnt deliver on time, no apology or updated delivery schedule
