Was handed over to Richford Motor Services because the RAC were busy.

The Mechanic/Driver Jamie was professional/helpful and got me back on the road in seconds after my battery went flat.

Was about 50 mins after their initial ETA but not bad at all for time.

Glyn collected us and delivered our family home safely. Polite and friendly guy. Thanks

Our breakdown company couldn’t get our car home (we waited 7hrs for them) so they arranged for Richford Motor Services to rescue us, they were fantastic, we had an initial call to get our car details and then had regular updates on the status of our rescue, they turned up within an hour of being contacted, the gentleman that rescued us was brilliant he was friendly, reassuring & professional, he got us loaded and home efficiently & did an amazing job getting our car onto our awkward drive, if only all recovery services were like this.

Glyn was a true professional, top bloke had a good chin wag and excellent customer service highly recommend if anyone needs a breakdown service.

Unlike some comments we did not have a good service from Richfords. Broke down and stopped in a lay by, called the Land Rover Assist tel No. 19.00 (13/07/25) who allocated the job to Richfords. That is where it all went wrong from that time onwards.
Our car broke down with the message ‘ Safely Stop, Engine Overheating’
We pulled in to the lay by on the A17 near Sleaford. Where we called the Land Rover Assist / AA at 19.00hrs We were informed of an ETA of approx 1 – 1.5hrs.
This unfortunately was not the case as Richford Motors the 3rd party company the AA were using kept changing the time, pushing it back several times. Eventually turning up at 22.10.
That’s 3 hrs to respond! The man that came, although polite did not have any diagnostic equipment and just checked the water & oil and had a look round but could not find anything. He said his instructions were to escort us to somewhere safe, McDonalds car park or the BP garage less than a mile away. Not knowing the area we opted for McDonalds. He followed us to the car park and then informed us that the ‘Recovery Truck’ would be around 30 – 60mins, so it should have arrived between 23.00 – 24.00.
This did not happen and after getting a message that it would be with us at 00.45 – Ok we thought…. But that never happened and the times just grew longer and longer till eventually I let my feelings known to your duty manager (AA) that this was totally unacceptable to leave 2 Old Aged Pensioners stuck in a broken down vehicle in McDonalds car park. (for a total of 13.5hrs)
He informed me that Richford motors were confirming it would be 05.00 now. Only this never happened again and after calling the AA again they advised it would be with us at 07.00am – May as well have been talking to the clouds!!! Nothing but lies after lies….
We were asked could they get us a Taxi and leave the keys at McDonalds so the car could be collected later…. How would that look, handing my keys to a total stranger with our insurance company. Perhaps you have not read in the media that they are one of the most stolen cars in the country and you want me to just hand over my keys……?
It was not until a further call that we were told an AA LR Assist Technician was on his way along with a Recovery Trunk that would be with us at 08.30.
This after 13.5 hours of 2 OAPs sitting in a car in a car park not being able to sleep in fear of missing them (note you only get 90mins free parking before a £100 fine, which you have offered to pay for should I receive a fine) thank goodness this was not a cold winters night, as you may have been explaining why there were 2 dead OAP’s in a broken down Range Rover in a car park at McDonalds.
The situation was resolved by the AA: Both the AA LR Assist Technician (Ellis) and the Recovery Trunk driver (Paul) that attended at 08.30. were brilliant and demonstrated what your company should be like from the off. Please pass on our thanks to both as they deserve a medal for diffusing the situation and sorting things out quickly.
I apologise to your duty manager who saw my rath, though I was never abusive.
Had we been informed from the off at 07.00 or 22.00 that we would not be getting a recovery we would have asked to be put up in a hotel until the morning and not be left to God & Providence for 13.5 hrs with no sleep, uncomfortable and slightly cold.
However why are you using a company like ‘Richfords Motors’ that just lied & Lied & Lied tarnishing the AA company? I would not pay them in ‘Buttons” and expect a full explanation from you on what went wrong.
If this can’t be done then please send me a complaint form and your complaints guidance document.
Just how many other people (JLR) owners have found themselves in this predicament frightens me.

Glyn was amazing, from start to finish thought my car was gonna be a non runner and await a mechanic next day, managed to have it from car park to home running in a couple hours amazing knowledge and a gent! Thank you

Shame i have to give 1 star ...Absolutely disgusting service couldn't be bothered to complete service as didnt want to return us home on transporter so reset machine to say no fault after I was told fault and code so was taken off transpoter and just left and told all was good to the get bk on journey then to break down again few minutes later . Had to call my policy holder again who then got different company who was great to get us home and told same fault .now as 2 call outs because richford motor services of Rotherham im likely have to pay call fee and done more damage to my vehicle. ..

Yesterday my car broke down in Lincoln. I was travelling with my 80 year old mother and needed to get home with the vehicle, 50 miles away. Steve from Richford was our saviour. He arrived in trouble shooting mode and was able to manoeuvre my car out of a tricky position and onto his truck. We then rode in the cab with him and enjoyed really interesting conversations about life, the universe and everything. He delivered the car to my local garage, boosted the flat battery to get the windows up, locked it and popped the keys through the garage letterbox. He then called to let me know it was all taken care of. He turned a difficult, stressful experience into a more manageable one. I hope this review reaches him because he's a gem and deserves to hear it.

Glyn was a fantastic help, kept us updated and quickly came to recover us. Very timely and very professional.

Just had Adam out on a breakdown for my Nissan Juke where the horn was constantly sounding. He was so helpful and friendly and talked me through the issue and carried out a temp repair ready for me to get it into the garage after the weekend. Exceptional service!

Stephen Brown, the person who came to assistance, was very helpful and professional and helped me to feel calm , friendlyfrom the moment he arrived. So thankful.

Genuinely can’t thank Tom enough!
My van had a fuel leak, and I was fully prepared for a recovery to the garage and a bill the size of my arm at the end of it 🤣

Then Tom arrived and honestly just made the whole thing so much easier than I thought it would be. He was really friendly straight away, had a quick look under the bonnet, and spotted the problem straight off, just a missing connector on the pipe

But instead of loading it up he went over to a local garage to see if they had one. Came back with the part, fitted it there and then, and within minutes I was back on the road. No fuss, no stress, just sorted.

Such a nice surprise to have someone go out of their way to actually help, He was calm, friendly, helpful, and made what could’ve been a nightmare feel like no big deal.

My driver was very helpful tryed very hard to get us back on the road but car refused that so recovered us to our home address very professional and highly recommended I think his name was Scott recovery was from Hitchin to potters bar very very good at his job

DO NOT TRUST this Company. Avoid at all costs. I was driving home and a part fell off one of the car on the back of their recovery vehicle and totalled my car. They drove off not stopping. When I called them they denied everything saying all their 8 on vehicle cameras shows nothing stating im lying. Upon me providing my dashcam they then changed their story and blamed the customer saying the car wasn't in a good condition. This almost killed me and at no point did they show any remorse and absolutely shocking communication. This is ongoing in courts basically mine blaming them, the customer blaming them and they are blaming the customer, which all places me at a detriment. Police also was informed.

Glynn came and recovered us and this service is definitely 5star made the recovery easy many thanks
