It turned out that I had to return the gate because a neighbour repaired my previous gate that was higher and better for the purpose (I use it as a dog gate). We are now on are third attempt to get the Safetots gate returned because of failed collection attempts. Safetots Customer Services have been most helpful in trying to resolve this problem (which is not down to their product or their services, but due to the Delivery company).

Ordered an extra tall stair gate, pressure mounted. Absolutely useless. Didn’t fit, extremely fiddly to install. Very poorly made….they could at least have allowed screws to screw into metal, not just slide in so has zero stability during fitting!! Plus, our order had evidently been someone else’s return….they hadn’t even bothered to conceal it as bags open, screws fell out of box. To summarise…Cheap crap for almost £90!

Edit: After I left this review, safetots contacted me to offer a return & full refund despite the fact quite a few weeks had passed since I purchased the gate. Their communication & customer services were good, I returned gate & received a full refund so I have changed my review to 3 stars

Ordered a Wooden Fire guard just fits perfectly ,good quality and very easy to put together. Just what I envisaged.

Excellent customer service. The wrong part was sent out with our gate so I contacted them via WhatsApp and the correct part was sent the next day. The product is really well made and the latches ect are really secure. Thank you Safetots!

I ordered two baby gates from Safetots. Due to a website glitch they arrived the wrong colour. I wanted natural wood with white fittings and I received white wood with white fittings. Throughout the checkout process I was shown a gate that was natural wood with grey fittings but the colour selection was shown as white. I had no idea I would receive a full white gate. Within minutes of receiving a delivery I called Safetots and explained this wasn’t what I was expecting or what was advertised on their website. I immediately requested to return the item. I was told I would have to pay a £10 fee as this was “my fault” I explained that I wasn’t shown an all white gate throughout the checkout process and they were advertising it as the manufacturer does for a natural gate with white fittings. I was told “the manufacturer is clearly wrong”. I explained that under Consumer Rights Act 2015 I’m entitled to have my return postage covered due to the item not being as expected and described incorrectly. This was denied. Apparently due to them being a “small business” they can’t adhere to this UK legislation as it would not be “cost effective” for them. Appalled that a UK company can do willingly not comply with UK legislation. I therefore can’t recommend anyone doing business with such a deceitful company.

Update: This is not false feedback. It is a true account of my experience. I had to file a claim against PayPal, who settled in my favour, and also reimbursed me the return postage.

It’s not only the consumer contract regulations you have to comply with. You stated “ We fully cover any return costs associated with faulty goods, non-delivered orders, or goods which are shown to have been incorrectly advertised (no matter how minor the discrepancy may be.)”
When I provided evidence of the item being advertised with a different picture to the one delivered, at the point of adding it to my basket, whilst it was in my basket during the checkout process you chose to ignore this.
The website I was previously on was the manufacturer’s, you do not make a safetots version, you’re a distributer for the manufacturer. You advertised it differently to the manufacturers description which added to the confusion.
Telling me to where to go on the phone is not “Outstanding professionalism”

Happy to direct people to my other reviews which call out companies that chose to ignore UK Legislation. The Legislation is in place to protect consumers from poor companies that rip people off. If you had complied with the legislation there would be no need for me to have to call Safetots out.

I have ordered a few custom made gates and room dividers from Safetots they all fit perfectly, the customer service team have been consistenly very helpful in finding the correct sizes. Dispatch time has also been very quick. Great company i will be using them again.

I just wanted to send you an email to say thank you for the fantastic service your company provides, we ordered a large stair gate to keep our three Hungarian Vizslas in the kitchen. as well as a set of wall saver protector caps. The gate arrived very quickly and is better quality than we expected, we are absolutely delighted with it. For whatever reason the wall saver caps did not arrive in the same delivery, however Hayley your customer support assistant was fantastic and sent out a replacement box the same day, it arrived the following day.

It really makes the difference dealing with an excellent company with good customer relations.

I will be recommending your company to everyone asking me where to get a stair gate.

Having had a toddler who unexpectedly decided to climb out of his cot bed one night, we suddenly needed to take the side off this and find something suitable to ensure he didn’t now fall out of his new bed. Safetots were one of the few places we could see with mesh rails suitable for cot beds rather than toddler beds. We are also very fortunate that they are based about 20mins from our home. Having called up with a number of questions about which item would be most suitable, Amy efficiently answered all my questions and was able to arrange there and then for me to collect two potential rails that same day. I know we are lucky they are nearby but the level of service we received makes me more than confident that if you need something as quickly as we did they will do everything to get it to you.
I’m currently pregnant with our second child and the fact that Amy and Safetots were able to help remove a lot of the anxiety we felt (which is what parents need) is much appreciated.
I couldn’t recommend them highly enough. The other rail which I returned was also refunded to me straight away which is also appreciated.

I ordered the larger of the bed guards by mistake, but not a problem as the customer service lady was so helpful and arranged a return to suit myself. I really couldn’t have asked for more. Also nice to be able to speak to an advisor without waiting ages on the phone. Will definitely use this company again.

Had a great experience from start to finish finding a solution to baby proof my unique staircase. Amy was thorough and we chatted through different ideas finally coming to a decision. The whole process was simple and effective. Thanks!

We were uncertain which stairgate to purchase for the top of our stairs given the amount of different information online, and had heard positive things about Safetots. We decided to ask for advice on which gate to buy before purchasing.

On contacting the company we were asked to supply photos and measurements of the skirting board etc. We then were recommended the BabyDan Flexi Gate which we bought.

This gate is extremely fiddly and difficult to install (see other reviews of this product elsewhere on Amazon etc). On completing the installation however we found it simply didn't fit - there are different configurations you can have the gate on, but it was either too small for the space (either attaching it to the skirting board or the wall) or too wide by half an inch, which was extremely frustrating. If we attached it to the wall it would also leave quite a gap between the floor and base, so our baby could potentially crawl backwards and choke himself - we wanted to avoid anything like this which is why we asked for advice in the first place.

We were disappointed that we were recommended something which simply doesn't work and is potentially unsafe, and moreover we can only return it for a refund if we pay £10, even though we already paid for delivery on top of the original purchase price.

Overall not a great experience. Positives were that communication with the company is clear, quick and to the point. Essentially though we have paid £10 to find out something doesn't work and to put holes in our wall.
